Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom News

New, Definitely Not “Crazy Taxi”, Level!

Hello creatures. We have lots of exciting news!

First off - thank you so much for your continued support of our game. We have 600+ Overwhelmingly Positive reviews 🤯. We continue to be blown away by this incredible vrooming community, so thank you times a million kajillion!!!

Anddd as a thank you and because we’ve had entirely too much pizza at this point - neither of which have anything to do with each other - we’ve decided to make a brand new “Crazy Taxi” inspired level!

In this level it’s all about time survival and bringing clients from one place to the other. Clear all clients’ requests to win! Crank up the volume and rock out to a few new tracks by various artists including Game & Sound, CRGuitar and Mega Ran!

To access the new content, head over to the Arcade Panik level and locate the Cartridge collectible! Once you have the collectible you’ll want to vroom over to the Psycho Taxi cabinet and BOOM you’ll be able to enjoy the new level!

If you already own the game the update will automatically be available to you. And if you don’t already own Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom…WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! We’re 20% off from now until July 11th!

In other news, on Friday July 5th Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom will be vrooming at the Summer Games Done Quick event! For more information or to register for the event check out their website.

And if you’re hungry for more deets we have a few more patch notes to tantalize your taste buds. We don’t know why you’re licking the game but whatever floats your boat. Just wipe the monitor off when you’re done.
Version 1.1.0 Patch Notes

Game Content
• Added a new unlockable level: Psycho Taxi. This level has no gears to collect and it’s all about picking up clients and keeping the timer up!
 • Added a collectible in Arcade Panik to unlock the Psycho Taxi level.
Speedrun features
• With the Speedrun Timer enabled from the Cool Stuff settings, you can now hold the Action button in-game during a Gear pick up in order to have all subsequent Gear pick-up animations sped up.
Gameplay improvements
• Unsupported controllers, like a fancy shmancy N64 controller, now display an undefined prompt glyph instead of crashing the game. Yay!
 • We’ve added one extra pepperoni to the Pizza Time level. But after some internal testing we decided it was overkill and got rid of it.

Patch 1.0.7

Missed us? Here's another small patch to address some of the stuff reported by the community!
Localization:
• Updated Japanese localization for better accuracy. Thanks to our Japanese players for the feedback!
 • Replaced the Japanese font with one that supports all characters.
Bugs:
• Fixed an issue with Tosla HQ's unlock cutscene by Morio which didn't display when resetting files. This bug was mostly relevant for speedrunners and was caused by a missing reset on the variable when deleting the file.
 • Fixed missing colliders at Tosla HQ when render distance was set to low.
 • Resolved issue where the Golden Propeller wouldn't appear correctly after file resets.
 • Fixed the Bombeach level achievement trigger when importing the save from the demo.
Gameplay improvements:
• Added prevention measures to ensure the game doesn't freeze when using the Xbox Elite controller.
 • Excluded UFOs on the Moon level from the auto-checkpoint system to prevent players from getting stuck in a death cycle caused by moving UFOs.
 • Implemented a no-respawn zone on the rock pillars at the beginning of the Pizza Time level to prevent respawn issues.
 • Adjusted the teleport position of the taxi on the Moon level when touching the golden watch, so that it teleports on solid ground.
 • Improved the performance of orange block activation by increasing the iteration speed 10x during portal transitions, preventing delays when teleporting near orange blocks.
 • Adjusted the taxi's idle time after teleporting cutscenes to improve stability.
 • Pizza King's mole on his bum is now moved 5px to the left.
Miscellaneous:
• Updated game credits.

And remember, kids, don't eat your pizza in the back seat of the taxi. Front seat only!

What? More Things To Collect? Steam Trading Cards are here!

As we disclosed in our previous update, we’re turning some of the amazing Yellow Taxi Goes Vroom artwork that we received into collectible Steam Trading Cards. As of this very moment, you can get trading cards dropped on you by simply vrooming through the game.

We would’ve said you “Gotta catch em all” but we’re already walking a fine line with that company, all things considered. :P

Besides our new trading cards, we’re also adding some new profile backgrounds and emoticons, so you can make your Steam Account look as stylish as Morio’s home.

That’s it for this short and sweet update but we’ll be back soon with more exciting news and announcements. Don’t forget to follow our little yellow taxi on Discord, Twitter and TikTok.

Stay vroomy!

Random facts: mdoran scaft. 🧠

Thanks for everything, creatures!

We want to thank you all for the tons of positive reviews, amazing playthroughs and overall wonderful response to our little taxi game. The feedback you provided was also crucial for fixing some hiccups we encountered during our first week on Steam. Here’s what’s new!
Steam Deck Verified
The game is now officially Steam Deck Verified and runs great, so you’re all more than welcome to take the Yellow Taxi on the road with you. Send us some pics while you’re at it, and let’s make a World Tour happen!
Bug-fixing and achievement tuning
Some of you have called us out on our pretty basic achievement titles and descriptions, and instead of making up excuses, we decided to give them another go! If you still don’t like them, we’ll have no choice but to write them out in Italian. Mamma mia! For the full patch notes, complete with all the squashed bugs, scroll all the way down.
Hat today, gone tomorrow!
Time is running out to snag our exclusive Limited Edition Burger Hat, which will disappear from Morio’s Hat Closet after May 9th, 2024. Though if you buy the game up until then, you get to keep it forever! Vroom now, or you’ll miss out on our ridiculous game-breaking hat!

Also big thanks to everyone who wishlisted the game and helped take our bonkers crown to new heights.
Trading Cards Incoming
We’re turning some of the amazing artwork we received into collectible Steam Trading Cards! Approval is still pending but they’ll be here sooner rather than later. Collect them all before Morio staples selfies of himself over all of them!

Though it’s been a hectic ride, we still can’t get over all the amazing support we’ve received. Please join our little yellow taxi family on Discord, Twitter and TikTok so you don’t miss out on all the dumb ideas we’re putting into practice! Read the full patch notes below and have a wonderful pizza-filled day!
