  • [p]Removed the first phase of the Treant fight on Nightmare[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where the Treant could be pushed around by minions[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an item generation error that was likely causing Memory Crystals to generate ~8% less often than they should[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where ending a run could cause loot to fail to transfer[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where the Arcanist "Fireball" ability could scale in size infinitely[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where Steamworks could fail to shut down on game exit, causing Steam to think the game was continuing to run[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the memory allocations caused by generating items. This may improve load times on longer runs [/p]

0.3.1 Hotfix #16

Updated the engine to patch a Unity vulnerability. Note that all engine upgrades are somewhat dangerous, if you see any odd behavior let me know!
Reduced the potency of some Goddess of Fate punishment modifiers. Most notably the added elemental damage and penetration mods
Added some new loading and on-death tips
Fixed a bug where the Arcanist's Fireball ability would continue to speed up when shot repeatedly in the same run
Reduced the difficulty of most Challenge bosses
Increased the number of lives in the "Dodge" challenge event from 3 to 5
Added a safety check to make sure the portal at the end of the "Dodge" challenge always ends up on screen
Fixed a bug where Enchants and Socketed Modifiers were being used for modifier tag checks when sacrificing or modifying items
Fixed a bug where Firestorm weather was applying to the Dodge challenge
Fixed a bug where the -max resists modifier was showing up on the Inferno Forest
Fixed a bug where Spooky Terrapool's hitbox would linger on screen
Fixed a bug where dealing more than 10^38 damage (you're getting nerfed soon, Fortifying Cry...) could result in you dealing 10 damage instead

A Big Thanks, and an Update on October!

[p]Hi everyone! I hope you've all been enjoying your time playing Don't Die, Collect Loot. It's been incredibly exciting to see the outpouring of support for the game, and how many of you are truly enjoying it.[/p][p][/p][p]The reviews have especially been strongly appreciated, they help a ton to get the game out there on Steam and share it with new potential fans. Extra special thanks to everyone who has shared it with creators as well, I've seen some great videos, like the recent one from Wanderbots![/p][p][/p][p]In the past two weeks I've mostly been focusing on bug fixes, performance, and general QoL. The game is in a much better state than it was even 13 days ago, thanks in no small part to all of your feedback. I'll of course keep working on this stuff, there's plenty more to do.[/p][p][/p][p]In the short term, I'll be traveling until October 17th. This will lower the frequency of updates subtantially for the next two or so weeks. Don't worry, though! I'm still here on the forums, reading discord, and reading through all of your bug reports and feedback! Don't Die, Collect Loot isn't going anywhere![/p][p][/p][p]While I travel, I'll be focusing on new ideas and content to come in the future. Here's a quick overview of a few things coming this year:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]A Limit Breaker NPC - Spend your excess skill points on endless permanent upgrades![/p]
  • [p]More Research Tree Nodes - There's still a lot more to do here![/p]
  • [p]More Astral Incursion Encounters - There are only three, and more are on the way![/p]
  • [p]More ingame events - Now that the current ones are mostly stable expect more of these to appear soon![/p]
  • [p]More Unique Items - Everyone loves loot![/p]
  • [p]Updates to low-use skill balance - I know some trees, like Runemaster and Hunter, are not where they should be! Expect these to get some much-needed love[/p]
[p][/p][p]And of course, as we go into 2026, expect new classes, the Volcano area, and more surprises![/p]

0.3.1 Hotfix #14

  • Fixed a major memory leak involving the Arcanist's Fireball ability when combined with the Blistering Curse skill tree node
  • Disabled Firestorm burning ground spawns in Challenge areas

0.3.1 Hotfix #13

  • Minions crushed by the screen are no longer destroyed, and instead teleport to you. I'll continue to work on their AI, but this serves as a stopgap fix on higher scroll speeds
  • Reduced the number of CPU calculations necessary to tame/convert a minion. Still not happy with the performance here, will continue to work on it as EA progresses
  • Reduced the lag caused by Shrines surrounded by tons of monsters
  • Fixed a bug where the Science Shrine was granting the Storm Lord Shrine's buff
