Season 1 - Mid-season Update

With our inaugural season in full swing - the Game Master is back with a mid-season update full of quality of life improvements and bug fixes to keep the lies flowing and backstabbing knives sharp. This week we’ve fully opened the doors to our new PlayStation and Xbox friends - who we’d like to give a special shout out to for providing their invaluable feedback and suggestions in our Discord that has helped shape this update.

As for what you can expect next - our second season ‘Midsummer Nightmare’ begins on May 2nd for which we will soon be sharing details on the exciting new content we are working on.

Thank you for your continued support - and we look forward to seeing you in game!

The Deceit Team
Animation
• Added stow animations for several items that previously didn’t have any.
• Updated Beck’s menu idle animation.
• Updated the sprint animations to add some subtle camera movement.
• [FIXED] The Escape Door padlock unlocking animation can be misaligned.
• [FIXED] The escape sequence audio for the key holder getting closer to the Escape Door doesn’t play on Wurgen.
• [FIXED] The Walkie Talkie’s animations don’t play in 1P.
• [FIXED] Feminine characters can occasionally not see their hands whilst sprinting.
• [FIXED] The animation for when you first enter a game doesn’t play.
Art
• Updated Wurgen’s destroyable walls to better fit the map.
• Re-arranged Wurgen’s Examination room to make it easier to navigate.
• Fixed several map exploits on Wurgen.
• [FIXED] The Wooden Implant is incorrectly rotated.
Audio
• Updated the reverb used on Wurgen.
• Added audio for when you’re in the Final Showdown.
• Added audio for capturing souls after completing a Task.
• Added audio for the Werewolf’s execution animation.
• Weak Points being activated can be heard from slightly further away.
• [FIXED] Several sound effects can randomly cut in and out, or just not play at all.
• [FIXED] Some Werewolf specific audio plays for the Infected when they sprint in Human form.
Gameplay
• The Soul Guides for Tasks will now move between interaction points for Tasks like Millhaven’s Washing Machines.
• Tasks that require multiple players will now have multiple Soul Guides to help hint to that.
• Updated the Phone Task on Millhaven to make it easier for new players.
• The Inspection Computer & Vats are now activated at the start of the 2nd Reality phase, rather than after a fixed period of time.
• Removed the interaction for destroying CCTV cameras. These are still destroyable by damaging them or their attached box.
• [FIXED] Wurgen’s Bunsen Burner Task stops working after the first completion.
• [FIXED] Stashing the Mask item whilst disguised results in you permanently having the disguise.
• [FIXED] Players using Keyboard & Mouse can get stuck unable to select an option in radial menus (e.g. Role & Voting wheels).
Input
• Added the ‘Sprint Behaviour’ setting for Controller users so you can pick between ‘Toggle’ and ‘Adaptive’. As a result the default for Controller users is now ‘Toggle’.
• Updated the sensitivity settings for Controller users to be more in-line with other games. This changes how the default 1-10 settings behave, but also offers ‘advanced sensitivity settings’ for more fine tuned tweaking.
• Disabled Aim Assist on Controllers when just looking around normally. This was previously configured to be barely noticeable, but did occasionally cause unintended camera jolting. Aim Assist is still enabled when aiming down sights.
Progression
• [FIXED] The Implant shown on the Ascension tab can be incorrect.
UI
• Switched Player & Subject names around on nametags so that Subject names are more prominently displayed.
• [FIXED] The Collection tab’s Item & Mutation screens incorrectly tell you how to unlock them.
• [FIXED] The Ascension tab doesn’t show your total Accolade points once you reach Master tier.
• [FIXED] Accolades show the points you’d earn for completing the next tier rather than the current one.
Translations & Localization
• Several translations have been updated.
