Update 4.4: Improvements, Bug Fixes, and a Community Tournament

[p]Greeting Subjects![/p][p] [/p][p]Following the big Alien Pack release last week, this update focuses on polishing up the game. It’s always great seeing the community come together (and tear each other apart). We can’t wait to see the plays, the bluffs, and the betrayals unfold.[/p][p][/p][p]The tournament will be hosted by Holls, and streamed live on the Deceit twitch channel.

Update 4.3: The Alien Pack Lands with a Terrifying Halloween Event

[p]Subjects, [/p][p]Think you’ve conquered space? Think again. Something out there has found its way in.[/p][p]Prepare yourselves for The Alien Pack - featuring the terrifying new Imposter, a shape-shifting predator that blurs the line between friend and foe.[/p]

Unmask Imposter
[p]Unmask the alien menace with the Imposter, the ultimate master of mimicry! From gooey tentacles to pristine space tech, slip between forms to outwit, outrun, and outlast your prey.[/p][p]An alien lifeform obsessed with humans, the Imposter has commandeered a lonely spaceship adrift on an intergalactic orbit. Maintaining every panel and pipe in spotless condition, it patiently awaits the “friends” it hopes will return. Behind its derpy, friendly manner lies a predator ready to strike, armed with two distinct forms and a slew of strange abilities.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Parasite Form
[p]The first form of the Imposter. A knee-high, slime-like creature; the fastest thing in the game. Impossible to scare with light and unable to harm directly. It squelches and squirms across the map, hunting for one of several empty hosts to inhabit.[/p]
Host Form
[p]The second form of the Imposter. Slipping into a host transforms Imposter into a floating, anti-gravity terror, belly-mouth first. Light damage forces it back to Parasite Form, and a “Dazed” status triggers a catastrophic self-destruct.[/p]
Host Energy (Passive)
[p]Each Host has a limited amount of energy that passively regenerates over time. If fully depleted the Host rejects the Parasite forcing the body to Self-Destruct.[/p]
Lasso
[p]The Imposter’s true form is revealed as it unhinges its mighty maw and entangles its victim with its tongue, draining the victim’s Sanity and leading to their eventual death.[/p]
Echolocation
[p]The Imposter’s Noodle appendage covers the host’s eyes protecting it from all light damage. This blinds the host and unlocks a new echolocation vision via the Noodle’s shrieking.[/p]
Hop
[p]With a giant leap for alien-kind the Imposter hops a short distance allowing itself close short distances from its friends.[/p]
Self-Destruct
[p]When Dazed or drained of Energy, the host’s maw spews slime forward before detonating, dealing massive Sanity damage in a wide area.[/p]

New Curse: Voidstalker
[p]A silent assassin from beyond the stars, Voidstalker thrives in secrecy and precision. Using the dreaded Voidblast ability, it plants a hidden bomb onto unsuspecting Subjects, starting a countdown to devastation.[/p][p][/p]

New Item: Gravity Grenade
[p]A high-tech device that manipulates space itself. Upon detonation, it creates a miniature black hole, pulling all nearby entities into its center. Victims are helpless as they’re dragged together, while Terrors remain unaffected.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

The Halloween Event starts today!
[p]The chaos takes a sinister turn now our limited-time Halloween Event creeps in from October 16th to November 6th. We are mixing things up a little from how our most recent events have worked based on your feedback. [/p][p]Expect haunted item skins, spooky character cosmetics, and plenty of bone-chilling reasons to dive back in. It’s deception, dressed for fright.[/p]
Here’s how it works:
[p]Scavenge during the event to collect treats that have been hidden around the maps.[/p][p]
Every reality phase treats will spawn across the map for you to pick up; each one you collect will give you 5-20 points. A special treat -  Pumpkin Spiced Latte will spawn in the second reality phase, which equates to a massive 100 points. [/p]
  • [p]Candy : +5 Event Points
    [/p]
  • [p]Cookie: +10 Event Points
    [/p]
  • [p]Donut : +15 Event Points
    [/p]
  • [p]Cupcake : +20 Event Points
    [/p]
  • [p]Pumpkin Spiced Latte: +100 Event Points[/p]
[p]The more you collect, the sweeter (and spookier) the treats. Dare to play? 🎃👻[/p][p]For those that are impatient, you can buy all the cosmetics in the Store for Shillings. [/p][p][/p]

Ceremonial Cultist Jak
[p]A special Store addition for a limited time only for 600 Shillings. Grab the skins before the store closes on 6th November.[/p][p][/p]

Ranked
[p]The long awaited Ranked Mode is expected to go live at the start of next month with a pre-season. This will give players time to test things out and prepare for the first full ranked season that follows when we launch our next season in December. [/p]

Patch Notes
[p]Steam only: On the 6th of November we will be adjusting local pricing for shilling packs to take into account changes in exchange rates over the past few years.[/p]
Improvements
Season 4: Astral Reckoning & New Ritual Site

Season 4: Astral Reckoning & New Ritual Site
[p][/p][p]Welcome to Season 4: Astral Reckoning. A season of creeping cosmic dread begins, starting with a new map and our space-themed Season Pass.[/p][p][/p]
New Ritual Site: The Helios Program
[p][/p]

[p]When it launched, the Helios Program was humanity’s proudest moment: the first manned interstellar vessel, proof that we could go further when united. For five years it ventured out into the dark, sending back steady reports from beyond the Solar System.
[/p][p]Then the signals stopped.
[/p][p]Four months of silence passed before Helios spoke again. But the transmissions were not the same. No charts. No data. No mention of the mission. Instead, the voices seemed intent on conversation. Small talk, questions, laughter that came just a little too late. They wanted someone, anyone, to stay on the line.
[/p][p]The longer they spoke, the stranger it felt. Questions repeated word for word. Familiar voices began to blur, as if rehearsed. Beneath the chatter was a raw, aching need that unsettled every listener. It was still the crew of Helios - at least, that’s what the voices insisted.
[/p][p]But what came back from the void no longer sounded like explorers reporting home.  It sounded like something very lonely, learning how to keep us talking.[/p][p]Somewhere in these immaculate halls, danger moves unseen and the void beyond the hull is never far away…[/p][p]Step into the Ritual’s first multi-level spacecraft: three floors that will test your wits, coordination, and nerve like never before.[/p][p][/p]
Airlock Sabotage
[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Infected can break the seal on the ship’s airlocks, forcing the crew into a perilous repair mission. Don a spacesuit and step through the airlock - the only thing between you and the infinite dark: then embark on a tense spacewalk to repair the seal.[/p][p]To succeed, you must complete a memory puzzle for each of the three terminals: a sequence of keypad entries, each harder than the last. Fail a sequence and you’ll be set back, giving the Infected more time to hunt.[/p][p][/p]
Inspection Protocol
[p]In the cafeteria lies a single, ominous Big Red Button. Pressing will call an emergency vote on the start of the next reality phase. This will summon holograms of every alive player around the main bar. Subjects are able to vote on others until the reality phase ends. [/p][p]One subject with the highest vote is selected. The action will differ depending on how many votes the subject in question has received. A small number of votes will reveal their team, a larger number their role and finally, if the subject received a lot of votes they will be ejected from the space ship. In case of a tie, no action will be taken. [/p][p]The results are announced the next reality phase.[/p][p]*The Helios Program Map is free for all players.[/p][p][/p]

Season 4: Astral Reckoning - September 4 to December 3
[p]Our first three-month Season is here. With an extra page in the Season Pass, there’s more to strive for and more to prove for the most dedicated players.[/p][p]Season Pass available now from the in-game store. [/p][p][/p]
Astronaut Skins
[p]To celebrate the launch of the new map, we have one for every character. Who will you take into the void? [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Arcane Jak and Knuckle Duster
[p]Two new Arcane skins have just arrived in the Arcane Store: Jak and Knuckle Duster.[/p]
Performance and Optimisation
[p]Behind the scenes we have been working on improving performance and optimisation. This update includes the long awaited high performance mode for consoles, and other improvements that will see an approximate increase in FPS by 20% across all platforms.[/p][p][/p]
Coming Mid-Season
[p]Don’t get too comfortable. Something else is coming to stalk these pristine halls. A new Terror will soon darken the corridors. [/p][p]Our next DLC: The Alien Pack.[/p][p]Coming Mid-Season.  [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Patch Notes
[p]Improvements[/p]
