DevLog 2: Basilio shows us his favorite spots in Viridis!

Hello everyone, welcome to DevLog #2 of Neon Blood. Presented by me, the great Basilio Tastiera. You can stop applauding now, thank you. For fans looking for me, the great Basilio, I inform you that you can find more of my fabulous talks in DevLog #1.

Remote connection, breaking the fourth wall, is challenging to maintain, even for me, so to summarize, my reality is Neon Blood, a 2.5D RPG with elements of graphic adventure and turn-based combat, where Axel McCoin and his great life-long friends, like me, face the most powerful in the city to end corruption and influence trafficking throughout Viridis, the city where we are.

And today's theme is Viridis. I'm going to show you some of my favorite spots in the city, so fasten your seatbelt, keep all limbs inside the car, and no eating in any scene.

Right below this text, we can see a magnificent specimen of Blind City Market. It was taken from the poor area of Viridis, but this colossus is the hub of activity for Blind City, being the commercial area par excellence within Viridis. Although it may seem healthy, it is currently being treated for a Void plague, one of the most powerful gangs in the city. In any case, if you want to stroll its streets, you can do all kinds of business, especially the shadiest ones!

After so much adrenaline wondering if you're going to get robbed (after feeling the tension in the market's alleys), what better way to end our visit than at the Basnoid arcade stall, run by me, the great Basilio.

We continue the tour and arrive at The Rogue bar, but beware! Although this place may seem calm, it is well known for being the base of the StrayDogs, a gang that, despite not being in their prime, is made up of great boxers, so it's best to be careful. Whether you come for some strawberry daiquiris like me or to watch the underground fights, also like me, this place is amazing.

//WARNING// Don't bother Silver, the owner, or you'll need ice packs.

To conclude this brief tour, what better than to visit the Viridis police station. This specimen is older than Viridis itself... Yes? That's correct, little one. This building was one of the few that survived the war, it was rebuilt, becoming a police station as a symbol of peace and unity and blah blah blah... It's nice, and it's easy to hack because the police hardly work, so if you're a level 1000 hacker with supreme mastery like me, it's a good source of information.

You can now unfasten your seatbelt, exit on the left, and please don't forget to pick up your belongings.

This has been my proposal for Basilio Tours, coming soon in the fifth dimension, but for now, I can try to show more of my reality through the social networks of those who are creating me, especially on X.com.

To see the complete tour, don't forget to Wishlist so that the Steam folks can notify you every time I, the great Basilio, manage to break the fourth wall and bring you back a little piece of Neon Blood.

See you in the next DevLog!!

DevLog1: The characters of Neon Blood get a graphical upgrade!

Hello everyone, welcome to the first Neon Blood Devlog, I'll be talking about the development and updates happening in my city, Viridis. I'm the great hacker Basilio Tastiera, so let's get started!

As I don't know how far my signal can go, I'll explain briefly what this reality consists of: Neon Blood is a RPG mixed with graphic adventure, that combines Cyberpunk and Noir aesthetics to put the user in the skin of Axel McCoin, my teammate, and help him in his revolution against social inequalities. The division of the cities is only growing, promoted by the snooty corpo of Bright City, such as the loathsome Ruby Emerald, who make life miserable for us, the good people of Blind City.

Many of you may have already seen an earlier version of the world, or even the appearance of my teammates, but the creator nexus has been constantly updating and improving us to the current point. This progress is given by a change in the team, in this case, the "condename= pixel_artist". While it's true that I like to look pixelated - I look like I'm going to the gym - I used to have a more cartoonish, childish style that didn't represent either the harshness of Blind City or the atmosphere of Viridis, or even my greatness!

From the creator nexus a new face joined, we are talking about Roi, the new "pixel_artist", who has brought several improvements to the world. Since he joined, I notice my surroundings are much more fluid and organic, as if there were more frames that produce a much less mechanical movement.

Also, since it's been around, I feel thinner and with better colour, as if a heavy contour line has been removed and my hues have been desaturated down to the normal range.
Overall, I've lost cartoon factor, but I've gained seriousness factor, which being this tough in the city, makes me look better than ever.

Look, here are some pictures I took before and after the patch:

Looks like he's finally walking properly and with a jacket to match.

Silver is now even scarier.

Instead of one sword, two, and they have neons on top of that!

This girl is so uptight... I'll just say my jacket is cooler.

This animation is only 1% of my real power.

Dear user, not only the inhabitants and everything about 2D art has changed, the whole world is changing! From the market, to Hunter Heaven, even Bright City... But we'd better leave that for another day, I feel like they're even changing the story with so much talk.

See you in the next Devlog!

Year 2053, after the Third World War, humanity has been reduced to a single macropolis, Viridis, which consists of two cities, the luxurious Bright City and the dystopian Blind City.

Axel McCoin, a detective from Blind City, will be motivated by his ideals to rebel against the injustices caused by the social separation between the two cities and the social inequalities that exist in society in general, becoming a symbol of a revolution.
