Hotfix Patch
Hey everyone,
a new patch is now available.
Missing or outdated save files
If you were affected by an issue where you played for some time, saved the game, and later found that your save was missing or outdated, please check the following folder on your PC:
C:\Users\%YourUsername%\AppData\Local\UnderANewSun\Saved\SaveGames
You may find a folder there named “ERROR, BAD UNIQUE NET ID”. This folder was created when the game was saved while it was unable to detect your Steam ID - usually because the game was not connected to Steam at the time.
How to restore your progress
If the Steam ID folder already contains files with the same names but older timestamps, delete those older files first.
The game only recognizes save files named “GameSlot1” and “GameSlot1_Meta” (or the corresponding slot numbers).
This issue should now be resolved. Once you save your game at least once (per slot) while properly connected to Steam, future save files will be stored correctly.
Thanks everyone for the feedback and support!

How to restore your progress
- Open the folder named “ERROR, BAD UNIQUE NET ID”
- Find the save files with timestamps that match the progress you are missing
- Copy those files
- Paste them into the folder with the long number as its name (this number represents your Steam ID)
