Co-op beta, FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), QoL improvements (v0.7.1)
Survivors,
a new and exciting update is now available!
Together with multiple requested quality of life improvements, new birds nests, as a source for feathers and eggs, improved bow and arrow mechanics as well as the new FSR (FidelityFX™ Super Resolution) implementation as a performance optimization option, it is now also time to make a huge step in the direction of co-op in Under A New Sun.
And even though that the game is intended as a single-player experience, it's sometimes just more fun to play with friends or family. To make that happen, almost all functions and mechanics needed to be checked, changed or rewritten again. This took some time of course and is still far from finished, even more so as the game also progresses further and further in other directions.
To get a smooth co-op experience, it's important to test this mode under various conditions, find bugs, Gameplay balancing issues or other problems, and that is where the co-op beta is starting now! This beta is open for every owner of Under A New Sun, and can be accessed through the main game, once the update has been installed (see further instructions under the Co-op updates notes).
Feedback is crucial for the further progression of the co-op mode and therefore feel highly encouraged to join the Discord server (link on the Steam store page for Under A New Sun), leave a note on the discussion forum or write an email once you have noted or want to suggest anything!
The co-op mode for now is in its beta stage and not officially supported or promoted, do not buy this game to just play in co-op, when you expect a fully fleshed out and bug free co-op mode!

- Tool racks can now be build under floors
- Updated some elements of the settings menu

Co-op updates:
- 'Ctrl + Alt + J' will open the multiplayer (experimental) menu, where co-op can be activated for the currently running game (this needs to be done every time a game has been loaded, it will not open to co-op on its own)
- When co-op is active, the host can invite up to 3 online players (total of 4 players) to his running game, over the Steam interface (Steam needs to be running for co-op to work. By default, the Steam interface can be toggled by pressing 'Shift + TAB' in a running game)
- When co-op is active and at least two players in game, the game can not be paused
- The host may kick players out of the session, using the players list in the pause menu
- When co-op is active and at least two players in game, players can respawn after death
- A respawned player will start with low life, hunger and thirst
- A respawning player will leave his complete inventory on his point of death (in a wooden chest, players can only take items out, the chest will disappear when emptied)
- Respawn points can be set on sleeping locations
- All players need to simultaneously sleep to skip the night
- Only the game's host can save the game
- Inventory and status of co-op players will save when the host saves the game
- When interacting with a boat that is already controlled by a player, others will just get on top of the boat
- 'Ctrl + G' will change your characters gender in game (since there is no new game settings menu for joining players yet and commands do only work for the host)
- Tutorial steps 1-10 needs to be completed by every player alone in co-op
- Tutorial steps 11 and beyond can be completed together in co-op (only if the players are at the same tutorial step, otherwise a tutorial step can be skipped like before to get to the same step again)
- Chests can only interact with one player at a time
- Players can damage each other

Enjoy the adventure!
