OI SPEED FREEKS!

We got a whole lotta news for ya! We've been cracking on an’ making the final bits for a proppa Beta by setting up another chance for you gitz to play Speed Freeks.

From now, until May 30th, the Kult of Speed will be racing around the Warhammer Skulls Festival.

We’re very excited to be back at SKULLS with a new gameplay trailer, as well as the much anticipated Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks Open Beta, featuring a stompy new game mode!

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
Mob up with us in DISCORD for game discussions, orky chatz, and playing together as the Open Beta roars to life!! Plus you’ll have a chance at krumping us silly dev gits.

We’re very excited to have old and new Speed Freeks players jump into our latest version of the game.

Based on players fantastic Alpha playtest feedback, a ton of work has been put into development since we released the Alpha at last year’s SKULLS.

We’re pumped for you to jump into the Beta and see the awesomeness Speed Freeks has evolved into with your suggestions and support. It’s in great shape and ready again for your invaluable feedback.

During the OPEN BETA you’ll put your pedal to the metal on the following:
 • 5 furious vehicles
 • 2 special vehicles rewarded by completing gameplay challenges
 • Two Kill Konvoy maps to tear up
 • Gear grinding vehicle customization options
 • Earn in-game scrap currency
 • A 15-level limited battle pass of cosmetics
 • A party System

Join the Open Beta: To join the Open Beta test simply head over to the Speed Freeks STORE PAGE, and click the request access button to join the queue.

Requesting Access: To ensure a smooth race off the starting line, we will be limiting access at first to test the technical side of things, but as soon as we are confident that we can let more players in, we will remove the queue and allow instant access to the Open Beta for all players.

Remember: Much like Orkz, this Beta showcase is rough and ready. Keep in mind that everything is subject to change and there will be bugs. New versions will update as we approach full release.

Rewards: We’ve got multiple exclusive rewards to give players that help test the Beta! Once earned, you will keep these rewards on your account through to the launch of the game and forever after.

For successfully playing a match in the game:
A “Skraga” gubbinz accessory that can be bolted to any vehicle. Skraga means veteran in the Ork language, and getting into the beta means you’re one of the first to ever play the game, so this accessory will let other players know that.

For completing the Beta’s limited WAAAGH! Path progression:
A snazzy “Skraga” paint job that can be applied to any of the vehicles.

This is our thank you and a nice bonus for those players who wanted to get into the game and support us early!

We want to create a compelling, rewarding, and safe experience for all our players. To do this, starting with the Open Beta, you will need to create a Speed Freeks account, powered by PLAION'S PROS service.

There’s a cosmetic reward for creating or logging into an existing PROS account:

A “Wazza” rim set that tells other players that YOU’Z DA FASTEST!
It’s the wheel cosmetic in the middle of the image above.

We’ve been developing this account service with our community in mind and we hope you’ll enjoy the exclusive features and perks that come with linking your account to the game. Ded shiny gubbinz!

This service is being continually developed as we roll out exciting new features. But, to give you an idea of how this will elevate your Speed Freeks experience, here are some specifics:
 • A shiny reward for account creation / logging in
 • Twitch Drops and other integrated rewards
 • Community events, challenges and contests
 • Detailed stats, wrap-ups and progression tracking
 • News, updates, and community topics, including surveys and polls to gather your feedback
 • And more as we and this service progresses

Relive your best Twisted Metal days with the free Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks beta, playable right now

Not everything revealed today at Warhammer Skulls was all serious, sometimes you have to get a little silly. This is clearly what Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks, the combat racer from Caged Element, represents.

Speed Freeks was initially unveiled last year, and the developer pretty quickly (and frequently) offered players the chance to jump in early and feel things out. But it’s been a year, which is plenty of time for a few things to have changed.

OI! YOU’Z SPEED FREEKS!
We’ve got a shiny new game mode for ya gits! And it won’t be long before you get stuck in!

As we shift through the gears racing towards the release of Speed Freeks, we’re excited to reveal a new game mode in addition to Deff Rally - our initial capture-point racing mode extensively played and fed back on during last year’s Alpha playtest.

Kill Konvoy is a similarly explosive, high ork-tane mode that pits two 8v8 teams in a race-battle to the finish, with each team protecting their massive Stompa to get it to the finish line first. Teams must strategize, using the available roster of vehicles to their best execution, enacting kunnin’ ambushes on enemies and racing to pick up powerful bombs spawned throughout the map.

These boom-bombs will slow the enemy team’s Stompa down when successfully delivered – and the Orks are great at delivering bombs in chaotically creative ways. Players will need to be equally creative when trying to prevent the other team from bombing their Stompa, by using effective vehicle combinations, flanks and ambushes.

But the formidable Stompas are bolstered with heavy armour and weaponry, so getting close enough to crash a bomb into one is no easy task. Their Lifta Droppa weapon is especially good at thwarting bomb detonations, targeting and lifting the attacker for a while, until inevitably smashing them back into the ground. Be sure to attack a Stompa with a mob of teammates to help the bomb carrier become less targeted by its powerful weapons. If the carrier gets through to the Stompa, they’ll be rewarded with a massive explosion that sends vehicles flying, along with a frenzy of Orks yelling WAAAGH!

Although delivering bombs is the most effective way of slowing an enemy Stompa down and gaining points for your team, destroying enemy vehicles will also speed your team’s Stompa up - so be wary of throwing yourself into battle unprepared, and thus donating kill points to the opposition.

Be sure to play as a team, krumping enemy players together but also racing to grab bombs as quickly as possible. Beware though, picking up a bomb immediately makes you a marked target by the enemy, so you and your mob need to rush deliver it to that big bad Stompa. The longer the bombs go unexploded, the more bombs will be spawned, which can create truly chaotic scenarios!

If you see an enemy player racing with a bomb across the battlefield, be sure to try and krump them as they will drop the bomb to be yours for the taking. Learning the maps and figuring out routes to try to surprise and outplay your opponents is key, as much as strategically working as a team to overwhelm them with firepower and speed.
“OI! WHEN CAN I’Z GET ME HANDS ON DIS?!”
We hear you loud and clear.

The exciting news is that the Warhammer SKULLS festival is coming up fast on May 23rd, and we are delighted to confirm that Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks will be in it and will be launching its OPEN BETA!

Kill Konvoy mode needs the fastest, greenest, and most fearsome Orks to join its WAAAGH! so get in dere! Rev that engine, grab your biggest dakka, and get ready to krump your way to the finish line!

Meanwhile, stay tuned to hear the latest news and updates, and make sure you join us on our Discord as we answer your questions, and discuss the news with everyone!

Included in these info drops, will be blog posts dedicated to each of the mighty machines you’ll have at your command as soon as the game releases. We will talk about each vehicle’s abilities, including speed and handling, how to use them, and what roles they play within a match.

There will be a roaring wagon for every gameplay style and we're relying on you gitz to put them through their paces. Nothing is more special to a speed freek than the bond between them and their wagon, so we fully expect our community to drive them to their absolute Orky limit.
