Update v0.1.1 | Released on Live

Hello everyone!

The first update has been tested on experimental and all changes have been confirmed to go live. This update is mainly focused on general stability improvements.
New Additions:
• Added the ability to set the save icon
 • Added pipette to the tutorial sequence
 • Added new tutorial segment for crafters
Bug Fixes:
• Fixed blast collector from not functioning properly
 • Fixed an issue causing Celite unlocks to appear incorrectly
 • Fixed an issue where the recipe for infused crystal would not show up
 • Fixed an issue which could cause errors when a reclaimer was destroyed
 • Fixed an issue with labs & drone ports not always displaying their status correctly
 • Fixed a grammatical error on the Osmium description

P.S. Issues regarding drones & buildings "freezing" up have not been directly identified, but may have been indirectly patched by the fixes to labs & drone ports. Will keep my eyes on this and look for any instances of where it arises, as this seems to be the only critical bug at the moment.

Early Access - Release Features & Roadmap Overview
Hello Everyone
With the new and improved Vectorio now beginning it's early-access lifespan, I wanted to go over specifically what you can expect to see in the initial release, what is still planned for down the line, and rough timelines on when you can expect to see these things come into play.

This is meant to help you, the potential buyer, understand what the current state of early access is, and help you make an informed decision on when you want to hop into the game.
Release Features vs. Planned Updates
Below is a chart outlining what is currently available in the early access release, and what is planned for future updates during the early-access period.

Features of note here include multiplayer, RTS mechanics, and mod support. These are 3 key note features that I have defined as being "pillars" of what I envision Vectorio to be at launch, as they are extremely important to the games long term success and ability to stand out from the crowd.
Feature Roadmap
I know many have been keen for multiplayer and RTS mechanics specifically, and so along with the other planned features of note, I've outlined roughly when you can expect to see these. (please note that as development continues, priorities can change and certain features may be moved around)
Update 1: Phantom Plains
The first update is heavily focused on the content side of things and bringing in the RTS mechanics along with a new region & unique techs. This is meant to take the game past it's predecessor and into what I consider to be the "expanded vision" of Vectorio.

This update is planned for Q4 of this year.
Update 2: Frigid Fields
The second update is all about multiplayer, bringing in the required systems to allow you to play with your friends, and explore a new unique "winter themed" region, Frigid Fields. This update also touches up on the logistics side of the game, bringing in new layers of complexity like fuel & ammo, and introducing new QOL tools for planning and setting up supply chains.

This update is planned for Q1 of next year.
Update 3: Scorched Shores
The third update is focused on expanding multiplayer into more PvP oriented modes, as well as overhauling the enemy & outpost mechanics to make them smarter and stronger. This includes natural outpost expansions, and enemy weak-point pathfinding.

This update is planned for Q2 of next year.
Update 4: The Void
The final update is focused on end-game content, and finally the long-awaited Vectorio creator tool. This update is all increasing the games replayability factor and ensuring there's ways to continue enjoying Vectorio after it's full release later that year.

This update is planned for Q3 of next year.
Questions? Comments? Concerns?
Please let me know! I want to try and set expectations clearly to everyone on when you can expect to see certain key features, and what is and isn't in the initial release.

Expect to see regular updates in between major updates as well, touching up on things like UI, QOL features, balancing, bug fixing, and so on. This roadmap is also not inclusive of all planned features - things such as cloud support, will be in their own self-contained updates, and additional features may be added or removed based on community feedback and desire for certain features. This is a collaborative process after all, and I want to work with everyone to bring Vectorio to new heights!

Thanks for reading,
~ Ben

Open Beta Now Available!

Hello Everyone,

The open beta (which is essentially an early demo) is now available to download from the storage page!

I will be collecting as much feedback as I can from this beta and then looping back to make changes to the game before it fully goes live (which I'm anticipating will be in July). There may also be additional open betas depending on the response to this beta, and how much work is needed to be done after it.

This beta will run from June 9th to June 16th, and will be updated over the course of the next week as bugs are discovered or QOL features are requested. It contains the following features...
What does this beta include?
• The first sector of the first region in Adventure mode
 • Around 30 buildings to research and unlock
 • The first 10 heat levels of the first region
 • Some of the new survival systems new to the remake
 • The first guardian, The Atlas
What does this beta NOT include?
• More advanced automation mechanics
 • Sectors 2 and 3's content of the first region
 • The full heat and power systems
 • Other gamemodes like Creative
 • Multiplayer or other online features

This beta is designed just to let everyone get their hands on a small portion of the game so they can give feedback on things they like or don't like. Once the game is closer to releasing, there will be either a larger beta or permanent demo with more of the game available.
How can I play & Give Feedback?
You should be able to download the demo from the store page now, though it may take some time to appear for some people. Once you have your hands on it, you can report bugs and give feedback on our Discord server. I will be updating the build consistently over the next week, so don't fret if there's severe bugs, balancing issues, or missing QOL features as they will be ironed out quickly.

I hope you enjoy what this beta has to offer! This new game has been in the making for nearly a year now, and although this is only a small snippet of the full game, I hope you can see the overall increase in quality and are excited for the future as we get closer to a full release.

Ben
