Demo Launch Stream Part 1!

Hi all,

Just to let you know I'll be streaming a developer playthrough/Q&A to celebrate the CRT7 demo coming out! It'll run from 18:00 to 20:00 UK Time on the 3rd, to coincide with the launch of the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase, and on the 4th to mop up anything we haven't done yet!

Obviously beware for spoilers, but feel free to come along if you want to have a chat and/or see what CRT7 is about before you try the demo for yourselves!

The CRT7 Countdown Challenge

Hi all, Tom here!

Over on the dying ex-birdsite, I've been counting down to the CRT7 Demo launch, and also challenging people with some old-school hidden information puzzles in the announcement posts. It occurred to me that if you made it to this puzzling Steam page, you might like to give them a try too!

At time of writing, I've released five of the seven puzzles. Each individual puzzle will yield a word or two, that you should collect along the way. You'll be able to find them all here the moment they are released:

Below is the one for 5 Days to Demo, as a somewhat gentle entry point:

Good luck!

The CRT7 Demo Debuts in the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase!

Hi all, Tom here!

Today is the official announcement of the 2023 Cerebral Puzzle Showcase which means I can say that CRT7 is launching its demo as part of this exciting event! CRT7 will be one of only 5 new demos debuting during the event, and I'm honoured to have been selected alongside other incredible thinky games. My previous game, SOLAS 128, will also be discounted by 60% - it's deepest discount ever.

If you've not seen it yet, I've made a special trailer to celebrate. I really hope you like it:

Solve puzzles / Explore the dark / Fix the future.

Whether you like wordless exploration of an ancient interconnected neon machine, or exploring a dark basement full of weird corrupted retro machines, there is sure to be something you like here. Not only that, but it seems like the two games might even be connected somehow?

What's more, the demo launch build was finalised today, and is hopefully (relatively) bug free! As always, please do share the news, tell your friends, and wishlist the game - it's such a huge help!

CRT7 Demo Date Announced

Hi all, Tom here!

I've been teasing this for a while, but I'm delighted to say that I can finally announce a date for the upcoming CRT7 Demo! The demo will be launching 3rd of August!

What's more, I've made a special trailer to celebrate the announcement. I really hope you like it:

Solve puzzles / Explore the dark / Fix the future.

The demo is somewhere between 1 and 3 hours long (depending how good you are at puzzles), and should give you a good idea of what to expect from the full game. A dark basement, mysterious puzzles, and a splintered narrative about obsession, power, and regret. It will also have an embedded guidance/hint system and accessibility options too.

Oh, and you better believe I hid some fun weirdness in there too...

I can't wait to see people playing it! Please bear in mind that this is a one-person solo project so bugs are always likely although I'm doing my best to squash them as we speak. But, as always, please do share the news, tell your friends, and wishlist the game - it's such a huge help!

CRT7 Goes Back to College

Hi all, Tom here!

This week has been quite exciting, as after a few months of work I finally had a new version of CRT7 that could be shown at ECGx - a local games expo for graduating students, and local indie devs! This expo is special to me as it was also the place SOLAS 128 was first shown to the public!

We had two instances of the game running at once, so people could see different parts of the experience. Of course, it's always a little strange demoing slow, thoughtful, experience-based games at a busy expo, but the game went down well, and people seemed to enjoy exploring the darkness!

The changes I'd been working on since the first prototype seemed well received and definitely improved peoples' flow through the game – but I have more small tweaks to get on with after watching new people play!

As always, keep an eye out for news - and do drop a wishlist if you want to be notified of upcoming news. I hope to have something very exciting for you soon.
