What's planned for Reclaim the Sea?
[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p]Reclaim the Sea was released a week ago, so now is a good time to take a look back and talk about what's next.[/p][p]Feedback on the game has been very positive overall, both on Discord and in Steam reviews (by the way, if you like the game, please leave a review on Steam). It's a real joy for me to see players enjoying the game I've been working on for years. Thank you! [/p][p]A few streamers have tested the game and clearly enjoyed it, as did their viewers, but there hasn't been a massive craze for the game among content creators. If you think the game might be of interest to a streamer you follow, feel free to let them know.[/p][p][/p]
What's next?
[p]As planned, the updates during the game's launch week were primarily focused on fixing all the minor bugs that were reported to me (either manually or via automatic bug reports). I also took the opportunity to slip in a few improvements to quality of life and balance. The next updates will continue to bring a host of fixes and general improvements, but will mainly bring new content.[/p][p]For the next two updates, I am currently planning:[/p]
- [p]New events. One of the main criticisms of the game is that you often encounter the same random events. This update will therefore add new ones, both generic events and events specific to certain zones. It will include both combat and narrative events.[/p]
- [p]A more flexible difficulty system. Some players have managed to finish the game on hard mode with numerous ships, including the raft! I will therefore add a system that allows the difficulty to be gradually increased beyond hard mode.[/p]
