Dev log vol.7
Greetings from the Warhaven dev team!
We introduced a number of changes in the previous dev log, Vol. 06.
The dev team is hard at work to make sure players who love the game can enjoy playing it in multiple ways.
One of those ways can be found in the World Pass feature.
So today we'll be sharing a detailed breakdown of the World Pass, as well as the dev team's messages to the players before the early access build.
What is the World Pass?
The World Pass system is a combination battle pass and Conquest game mode.
The dev team implemented the Conquest game mode within the battle pass system to visualize the player's progression in the form of expanding territory on a map.
(And it's fun, too!)
As Players move their carriage avatars on the World Pass map, they'll obtain rewards, reveal unexplored land, and work with other players to expand their federation's territory.
Battle Memories
Since the World Pass is meant to showcase player progress, we wanted players who do well on the battlefield to have their skill reflected in the World Pass as well.
Which is why players earn Battle Memories as they play Warhaven.

▲ Battle Memories
Battle Memories are earned according to the number of Battle Points a player earns per minute during a match.
If a player earns 20,000 points over 10 minutes, they will receive 2,000 Battle Memories.
The better a player does, the more Battle Memories they will earn, which increases their World Pass combat power in turn.
Players with more points have a higher chance of defeating their enemies in Conquest and expanding their territory.
However, since combat power only increases the odds of victory and does not guarantee it, players with less combat power still have a chance to win.

▲ The victory chance is reflected by the size of the allied portion of the chart.
Patrols
At the start of the World Pass, players can use their Battle Memories to explore the map and reveal territory by Patrolling it.
The more matches a player plays, and the better they perform, the more territory they can reveal in the World Pass.
The World Pass map dynamically expands with the player's battle experience.
Once explored, the World Pass map continues to change as players claim and contest territory.
Ultimately, the World Pass reflects the overall experience and activity of Warhaven's players, and evolves alongside them.
10,000 players will be split into 4 federations which compete for territory.
Even if a player doesn't log in for a number of days, the status of their federation may change as other players battle in the World Pass.
Their federation may lose territory and shrink into a Minor Federation. Or their territory may expand, evolving their federation into a Great Power or Hegemon.
As a federation's status rises, it can unlock up to 3 new weekly quests.
War Rank
Since each federation is shared by 2,500 players, an individual player may feel that their contribution is comparatively small.
So to emphasize each individual's progress and contributions, War Contribution and War Rank increase for each enemy players defeat in the World Pass.
War Contribution and War Rank are exclusive to the World Pass and yield exclusive rewards.
The World Pass may seem complicated, but players may be surprised at its simplicity once they start playing.
Additionally, as the seasons progress and the devs receive player feedback, additional features will be added to the World Pass.
Feel free to send us your thoughts on ways you think the World Pass could be improved!
In many ways, the current World Pass is like a cheese pizza with room for toppings.
Warhaven's World Pass will continue to evolve as the game's development continues and will be continually improved based on player feedback.
Dev Thoughts (FROM: WARHAVEN DEV TEAM)
Players will be able to fight on Warhaven's battlefields very soon now.
To mark the release of the early access build, we've prepared some statements from our dev team.
📢 Eunseok Yi, Game Director
I was first enamored with the world of swords and sorcery when I saw an animation called the Knights of the Round Table on TV as a child.
I still have fond memories of playing with homemade toy swords and shields with my friends.
It feels like I only made the proposal for Warhaven and had fun playing its first prototype yesterday.
The other members of the dev team and I poured years of our lives into this game. And now it's finally close to release.
I hope to deliver a gameplay experience that can't be replicated anywhere else, so that the memory of playing stays with players for years to come.
📢 Deokbin Lim, Creative Director
We consider the thrill of attacking and defending in intense melee combat to be the core of the game's fun.
I am confident that the battlefields of Warhaven have become more interesting thanks to the support and feedback that players have given us across the various tests.
We hope to keep your interest and support, not only the early access, but for the new content that will be added to Warhaven soon as well.
📢 Hyunsu Nam, Technical Director
We put a lot of work into creating a smooth and engaging gameplay experience.
We plan to keep fixing any bugs or issues that we haven't been able to catch from the tests, and we hope to have your continued support and interest.
📢 Eunyoung Choi, Art Director
It's hard to contain my excitement for the upcoming early access build.
I want to emphasize just how helpful the players' support has been during development.
We plan to introduce you to a wider game world and even more characters soon, so I hope you look forward to it.
📢 Meeji Lee, UI/UX Director
I'm happy to finally share the battlefield of Warhaven with the players.
I promise that the dev team will put even greater effort and passion into the game as a way to repay the support you've given us.
Thank you for your support and for waiting for the early access build!
📢 Mira Nam, Promotional Media Director
I want to share my deepest appreciation for everyone who trusted and supported us.
I hope that Warhaven is something that we can all enjoy together.
The dev team promises to do its best to deliver the best and most enjoyable version of Warhaven to the players, and we look forward to meeting you all on the battlefield.
Thank you!
