Suspected bug with AMD cpus

Hello folks

I've been receiving a lot of reports of people having trouble in the game with a nasty bug.

This bug seems to be exclusive to AMD cpus. (This may not be actual cause, but it's our best guess right now.)

The game features an observation mechanic - when the cat splits into two possible versions, they are both equally plausible until one of them is observed. When that happens, the unobserved version of the cat becomes theoretical.

At least, this is how it's supposed to work.

It seems people using AMD cpus are having to wait for two to three minutes before the observation system realises the cat is being observed.

This renders the game pretty much unplayable (unless you have the patience of a saint).

I'm truly sorry for this - this bug has never affected the team during development, and it never occurred to any of our playtesters before launch.

We're working hard to track down the cause of the issue, and will put another announcement out when there's more (hopefully good) news.

Thanks as ever for your interest in our game!

Martin and the team
(SUB) ATOMIC KITTEN
Control Mittens the cat in this new take on the classic puzzle heist adventure. Infiltrating a secret facility, Mittens stumbles into a quantum experiment, granting her the ability to be in two places at once – but that’s not the half of it!

The quantum superstate obeys Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle - when nobody is looking, Mittens could be in either location. Introduce an observer however, and things get theoretical...

🚪 Pass through doors (that could theoretically have opened).
🚓 Avoid security detection (you can’t see what doesn’t exist).
🧵 Quantum mechanics plus cats. No strings attached. What’s not to love!

Stretch the realms of what’s plausible with quantum mechanics. And when’s the game coming out, you ask? Well, theoretically when unobserved it could be at any point… more on that soon!

Demo patched - version 0.1.06

Ahoyhoy folks!

We just updated the demo to fix a few bugs. Hopefully the issues people have been seeing in the second level (robots not responding to items and puddles, Mittens pinging around when interacting with items) are solved now.

Patch notes follow!

- April 09 (version 0.1.06)
- Fixed panel clipping mask bug in non 16x9 aspect ratios
- Improved Codex with chat history and synopsis
- Further improved jumping
- Allow swapping cats based on Y/Triangle button press
- Skip tapping gameplay option added to accessibility menu
- Fixed bug with transit tubes (which may also have fixed another bug where Mittens pings around weirdly when picking up items)
