Hotfix 1.9.1

Hello Spiritographers!

With the Spring update (1.9.0), we introduced a major change to the session timer with many new features. While many folks appreciated the improvements, it didn't quite resonate with everyone. It's important to us that Spirit City: Lofi Sessions remains as accessible as possible, so we've been carefully tracking your feedback and added some of the most requested features for the session timer.

Here are the full patch notes:

 • Added an alternative circle view for the session timer, in the timer options menu
 • Added an option to hide the countdown numbers in the timer options menu
 • Adjusted the minute limit amount for the Session timer from 60 to 180
 • Fixed an issue where the Session timer would sometimes add 15 seconds to a session segment
 • Fixed an issue where the timer would sometimes badly convert remaining minutes when it is running
 • Fixed an issue where the new Session timer can sometimes appear to be less wide than its default width, causing the interface to not fit inside of it
 • Fixed an issue where the timer could not have :00 as seconds
 • Adjusted the session timer so that long break can be set to 0 minutes, removing it from the session
 • Added a setting to hide the clock UI altogether in the game settings menu
 • Fixed texture artifacts in color customizable gaming chair
 • Fixed an issue where the new Spiritdex hints weren't being shown in the "reached new spiritographer rank" pop-up
 • Fixed an issue with some eyes disappearing on AMD Graphics cards and Steam Deck
 • Fixed an issue with a certain Kitchen beam accent disappearing when selected

Additionally, we hope you appreciate the MacOS version thus far! Here's a list of known issues for MacOS:

 • The Steam overlay appearing as glitchy on Apple Silicon chips, appears for achivements pop-ups as well. This is unfortunately not in our control and is on Steam's side to fix.
 • A small number of players can have launch issues where the game says it's "Missing game files". For some, reinstalling the game should fix this issue, but it seems like there's more to do on our side to prevent this from happening. We are looking into it.
 • The game's unfocused FPS settings are not being applied on Mac, resulting in a higher constant FPS usage. In the meantime, if you feel like the game is a lot to handle for your hardware, we recommend setting a lower FPS setting or lowering the screen resolution scale for now.

Thank you for your support, and have a great productive week!

Session Timer feedback and upcoming hotfix

Hello Spiritographers,

We recently introduced a major change to the session timer with many new features, while many folks appreciated the improvements, it didn't quite resonate with everyone.
It's important to us that Spirit City: Lofi Sessions remains as accessible as possible, so we've been carefully tracking your feedback.

In an upcoming hotfix we're making some additional improvements and bugfixes to the session timer. We hope this addresses some of your concerns, and please feel free to continue letting us know what you think, as we are always working on improvements.

The main items that will be addressed are:

 • Increasing the minute limit of the session timer to 180 minutes from 60 minutes
 • Setting the "Long Break" to zero minutes will remove it from the session
 • An alternative circle view for the session timer, in the timer options menu
 • An option to hide the countdown numbers in the timer options menu
 • An option to hide the date/time
 • Fixing various other bugs

We plan on releasing this update next week on Wednesday May 21st, if everything goes smoothly.

As always, thank you for your patience and support.

Spring Update and MacOS support now available! 🌸

Hello Spiritographers!

Today is the release of our Spring Update, bringing our game to version 1.9 🌸

Get ready for a brand new spirit to discover, new music, new customizable items for the bedroom, a reworked session timer, and more!

You can find the full patch notes below:
New Content:
• New Spring-themed background inspired by cherry blossom season in Japan.
 • A new Spirit to discover has arrived in time for Spring!
 • 50+ room customization items added with the new color customization feature.
 • 50 new Avatar items added with color customization
 • 2 new cherry blossom headband hat items
 • 2 new cherry blossom flower items added as accessories to room customization - also useable in the Kitchen DLC
 • 2 Kitsune-themed skins for Twintail
 • 22 Spring-themed cherry blossom skins have been added for all base game Spirits.
 • 3 Spring-themed skins for Capybun, Bubble Ducky and Squire Sprout from the Kitchen DLC
 • A brand new "Sweeping" activity is available at the bay window, perfect for Spring cleaning!
 • A brand new playlist is available, with over 20 new songs to put you in the zone while you relax, work, or clean!
Quality of Life Adjustments:
• A new "Save" tab has been added to the settings menu for players to easily locate their local saves and the automatic backups, in case!
 • We've heard your confusion around selecting Cozy Kitchen Spirits Variants as companions. While customizing your avatar, you will now see that Spirit Variants (from the Cozy Kitchen DLC) are now shown individually instead of being under their parent Spirit skins.
 • While customizing the room, we have adjusted the camera for the "Scenery" category, under the "General" tab.
 • We have adjusted the audio fading parameters to be extra quiet while the Session timer is ringing, to make extra sure that it's noticeable even while other sounds are playing!
New Features:
• Fully redesigned Session Timer - Designed to be more intuitive, and give a better sense of how the work sessions are split. Additionally, you can now also use a Stopwatch mode, and a Timer mode for your sessions. There's also a Settings tab for the timer tools which will grow over time with multiple options to adjust!
 • You can now revert back to an item's default color when using the new color customization tool.
 • In avatar customization, head accessories, hair, eyebrows and facial hair can now use our new color customization tool! We will eventually expand this to eyes and skin tones as well.
Bug Fixes:
• Fixed an issue where some playlists weren't saved properly and couldn't be set to play automatically on reload.
 • Fixed an issue where the window controls would be visible even when the game is in Borderless fullscreen. They are now completely hidden but can be brought back by hovering the top part of the screen.
MacOS Support
Spirit City is now available on MacOS! All features should be compatible, except the "Always on top" mode which is only compatible for Windows users. As we may find some new bugs specific to MacOS, please be patient for any issues that might arise while we collect data and patch issues.

MacOS and Windows saves are cross-compatible! If you're going to use the game on Windows and MacOS, make sure you update both devices at the same time so that they're on the same game version! Otherwise, it might create issues with save files. If you do get any issues regarding your save files, please check out the new "Saves" section in the settings menu.

Our minimum requirements for Mac devices are quite high as this game is built using the latest version of Unreal Engine 5. You can expect any Macbook from 2020+ upwards to run the game just fine. Consider using the graphics options to tune performance that fits your hardware best.
You can report any issues with MacOS on our dedicated MacOS discussion forum
Updated Roadmap
With the Spring Update, we've updated our 2025 Roadmap to reflect all the new features added.
It's not an exhaustive list, but it should give you a preview of our continued plans for Spirit City: Lofi Session!
Interview with our Art Director and Co-Founder
Our art director and Co-Founder Keith recently had an interview with A Gaming Podcast, talking a bit about the development of Spirit City and the studio. He's a bit shy so please be kind! It's our first video interview, so check it out if that interests you!
