Ship Events Update Patch Notes

Hello Crew!

The Ship Events Update is now officially out!
Our apologies being a bit late with our release, we ran into some last second issues and miscommunications that ended up delaying the release of this update a little.

This update includes:
  • 25 New Ship Events
  • Two new plot quests started by Ship Events, including our first Darkest (Lv 6) quest
  • Philomath Class add-on
  • Thrall Class add-on
  • Symptom/Disease system adjustments
  • 10 New Celestial Trinkets and some adjustments to their progression
  • 11 New "Twilight" rarity trinkets (Our replacement for Ancestral Trinkets)
  • 2 new "Oddity" items that allow heroes to change their affiliation
  • Many balance changes and adjustments
  • Fixes to many typos and other bugs

There's some bits of content that we wanted to include in this update that we had to axe in the interest of time, mainly some minor Thrall assets and an item that allows heroes to change affiliation to Faithless. We'll likely be adding them in supplementary updates in the next couple weeks, along with a slew of balance updates and bug fixes.

[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Updated DD's .exe and resource manager, potentially fixing some graphic-related issues as well as some crashes
  • The First Mate in the Provision screen got pushed over to the right a bit, so the provision notes should be more visible
  • Fixed a long-standing issue with ADs, where heroes/enemies that apply ADs could potentially stack the indirect buffs from ADs
  • Updated "Can't Be Guarded" tooltip to make the "Guarded" colored
  • Updated "vs Guarded" and "vs Guarding" tooltip to make the "Guarded" colored
  • Fixed a weird inconsistency with trinket tooltips, where some said "On Crit" instead of "On Attack Crit"
  • Fixed issue where an anti-stealth version of Levantine Grunt's "Trained Slash" was knowledgeable
  • Fixed issue where Wildlander Raptor wouldn't give out negative Wildlander-related quirks when killing a hero
  • Fixed issue where Veteran Troglodyte Killerbite had 4 less Dodge than intended
  • Fixed issue where Champion Troglodyte Killerbite had half of its intended Max HP
  • Fixed issue where Caverns room mashes weren't full (had less than 4 monster slots filled)
  • Fixed issue with Cactonid Necrobiote sometimes didn't apply debuffs with "Tendril Sprouts" when it should
  • Fixed issue with Cactonid Hominid sometimes didn't apply debuffs with "Filthy Fangs" when it should
  • Fixed bug where Otekh Lurker's resists were inconsistent with normal Trog Lurkers
  • Fixed issue where Ghouls would freak out if all of their targets were stunned
  • Fixed issue where Ghoul Spellblighter would use "Mortal Terror" outside of the prep round
  • Fixed issue with Champion Lost Friar applying some vestigial effects on "Rebuke the Rotten" when surprised
  • Fixed issue with Sand Charmer summoning allies with the prep round tooltip
  • Fixed issue where some Wildlife enemies weren't able to be Surprised
  • Amber Mech Dredge skills in the Dredge's Add Info now shows Skill Typing
  • Veiled can no longer be a "Bold Bleeder" or "Nervous Bleeder"
  • Fixed issue where Veiled's death reaction didn't work
  • Flagellant can no longer have "Crafty" nor "Negotiator"
  • Fixed issue with Occ's Bleed Chance not showing that it was 100% on its lv 5 tooltip
  • Fixed issue where Hexer's "Melt" didn't show that it got +10% DMG per Corruption Vial in combat
  • Fixed issue where Hexer's "Ichor incantation" Max HP heal was incorrect on its lv2 tooltip
  • Fixed issue where Hexer's "Ichor incantation" ignored afflicted heroes blocking its heal
  • Fixed issue where Bloodlust Periapt's Self dmg didn't scale with difficulty if Vestal missed
  • Fixed issue with Rictus Imperfectus and Rictus Mortis lowering stress healing from activities
  • Fixed issue where certain Contraband trinkets didn't work with Contraband Collector
  • Fixed issue where Freshly-Hatched Snakelet's blight chance tooltip was incorrect
  • Fixed issue where Bedtime Story reduced Bola's Debuff/Mark skill chance despite Bola not being an AoE anymore
  • Removed all Ancestral, Shrieker, and base game Trophy trinket references (effectively impossible to get these trinkets now)
  • Fixed Issue with Overgrown Setar's Blight Chance being higher than intended
  • Fixed issue where "Crafty" Quirk didn't work
  • Fixed a bunch of Typos


[h2]New Content[/h2]
  • Added 25 new town events to give more gameplay variety.
    List of town events:

    • Weapon Maintenance, granting heroes buffs to Melee ACC and CRIT for the next quest
    • Target Practice, granting heroes Ranged buffs to ACC and CRIT for the next quest
    • Celestial Alignment, granting heroes buffs to Mystical ACC and CRIT for the next quest
    • Candlelit Vigil, granting non-pagan heroes buffs to Healing and Stress DMG received for the next quest
    • Eldritch Altar, granting non-religious heroes buffs to DMG and SPD for the next quest
    • Spoiled Shipment, increasing cost of provisions by 50% for the next quest
    • Supply Cache, making provisions free for the next quest
    • Inconvenient Injury, giving all heroes a Virtue Chance debuff for the next quest
    • Corrupted Wine, locking the Bar, while making Gambling Hall and Fighting Pit activities free for a week
    • Exhibition Bout, locking the Fighting Pit, while making Gambling Hall and Bar activities free for a week
    • Hog Wild, locking the Gambling Hall, while making Bar and Fighting Pit activities free for a week
    • Inheritance, granting a decent chunk of gold. This event can only occur if at least 8 of your heroes have died
    • Erntefest, making Galley activities free for a week
    • Amber Convention, making Amber Workshop activities free for a week
    • Curious Cadaver, making Clinic activities free for a week
    • Captain's Birthday, making Birthday, making all activities free for a week. 🎉Obviously, this even can only occur once every 52 weeks
    • Augmented Mercenaries, allowing you to hire Ostvengr mercenaries at the cost of Lost Tek. All Mercenaries spawn with one of the special Implants which, in addition to granting special stats. prevent hero from getting any diseases, and their stats are as follows:
      • Allsicht Implant: +5% Scout Chance, +5 ACC, +10% Stress Received
      • Eisenleib Implant: +5% MAX HP, +5% All Resists, +10% Stress Received
      • Hastwirbel Implant: +5 DODGE, +4 SPD, +10% Stress Received
    • Smoke Signals, making more heroes appear in your Ferry on that week
    • Concert, granting all heroes a small SPD, ACC and CRIT buff for the next quest
    • The Stranger, allowing you to revive one of out three randomly selected dead heroes
    • Fire Sale, reducing cost of the non-Contraband trinkets by 75%
    • Emergency Meeting, adding an Apprentice-level quest in which player is introduced to the Otekh enemy
    • Bootcamp, allowing you to upgrade 8 combat skills for free
    • Second Hand Shipments, allowing you to upgrade 5 pieces of gear for free
    • Eclipse, adding a Darkest-level quest in which you fight the Flayer, resulting in the new roaming boss
  • Added Thrall Class Add-On
  • Added Philomath Class Add-On,
  • Added new Ultra-rare curios to Caverns, Treasury, and Catacombs:
    • Panacaeic Fruit, found in Treasury, granting a provision item which can be used to give hero the Miraculous Regrowth Quirk, granting increased Healing Received, as well as short Regeneration from being Crit Healed
    • The Slayer, found in Catacombs, demanding to see a proof of your conquest. Upon being shown a Boss reward, Boss trinket, or a Heirloom, rewards you with Chthonic Scrap, with amount dependent on the rarity of item shown. Chthonic Scrap can be used on hero to grant them a 400% Resolve XP bonus
    • Amber Mother Lode, found in Caverns, granting a massive amount of Amber, as well as Encased Troglodyte, an item which Cavern vendors might be interested in...
  • Veteran and Champion Lost Legion enemies now drop "Broken Halos" which allow your heroes to be converted to Religious
  • Added two new districts: Vault and Counting Station, both increasing stack size of Gold and Kvarotz Daric
  • A handful of new Trinkets have been added, including Twilight Trinkets, which are rewarded for completing Long Champion-Difficulty Quests:

  • Debuffs on hero skills that reduce enemy Resist have had their debuff chance increased to 110->150% base
  • Abomination's "Slam" Can't be Guarded Debuff now has a 110% -> 150% Chance of being applied (used to be guaranteed)
  • Abomination's "Slam" now clears Guarding and Guarded
  • Antiquarian's "Flashpowder" Stun Resist Debuff Amount has been increased to -20/23/26/30/33
  • Antiquarian's "Trinket Scrounge" has been standardized, its chance to get higher-rarity trinkets now scales with difficulty
  • Bounty Hunter's "Come Hither" DMG mod has been increased to -40%
  • Bounty Hunter's "Tracking" Scout buff has been increased to 15%

  • Musketeer's "Champion's Ego" is now a time cost 1 and now gives a "On Attack Miss: Self: +3 Stress" Debuff that lasts for 4 battles instead of Party Stress
  • Musketeer's Concussive Ammo "Standard Shot" Stun Resist Debuff Amount has been increased to -20/23/26/30/33%
  • Musketeer's Shrapnel Ammo "Smokescreen" now only deals damage to the enemies it hits
  • Musekteer's Shrapnel Ammo "Buckshot" bleed amount has been increased to 5/6/7/8/10
  • Musketeer's "Stock Strike" DMG mod has been lowered to -15%, but CRT mod has been increased to 8% base
  • Occultist's "Wyrd Reconstruction" heal scaling has been adjusted to +3/6/3/6 Max Healing
  • Plague Doctor's "Blinding Gas" has had its Prep-Round Debuff chance scaling increased to 110/122/135/147/160%

  • Shieldbreaker's "Puncture" now clears Guarding and Guarded

[h3]Monster Changes[/h3]
Certain values displayed in apprentice/veteran/champion format
  • Levantine Thaumaturge will no longer use "Caustic Impact" during the prep round (outside of the tutorial encounter)
  • Levantine Terpischorean's Move Resist has been reduced to 20/45/70% base
  • Levantine Appraiser's "Stygian Shroud" no longer debuffs herself
  • Levantine Janissary now has 2 turns per round
  • Levantine Janissary's attacks now have 100 base ACC, his Riposte has base 95 ACC
  • Levantine Janissary's Riposte no longer causes a Bleed, instead "Duelist's Surge" now causes bleed again
  • Wildlander Hellion's "Fearsome YAWP!" stress dmg reduced by 50%
  • Troglogyte Slinger's Stun and Move Resist have been reduced to 20/45/70% base
  • Troglodyte Slinger's Debuff Resist has been increased to 50/75/100% base, and PROT has been increased to 20/25/30% base
  • Troglodyte Cultivator's Stun Resist has been reduced to 25/50/75% base
  • Troglodyte Lurker's "Slice Em" has had its damage reduced by ~40% and its Bleed Amount increased by ~50%
  • Troglodyte Hunter's "Gash the Amber" has had its damage reduced by ~25% and its Bleed Amount increased by ~50%
  • Troglodyte Hunter's "Spinning Advance" no longer pushes heroes
  • Troglodyte Hunter's Stun Resist has been reduced to 35/60/85% base, and Move Resist has been reduced to 25/50/75% base
  • Lesser Sandwurm's Debuff Resist has been reduced to 50/75% base
  • Lesser Sandwurm's "Consume" DMG has been reduced by ~10%, but has had its base ACC increased by 5
  • Fighting Cactonids now guarantees that you get at least 1 vestige
  • Cactonid Vertephephile's Debuff Resist has been reduced to 20/45/70% base
  • Alraune's "Looking for Love" now only triggers if there are 3 or more heroes
  • Alraune Adds are now indestructible when they don't have a capture
  • Webber's Bite now deals ~33% less DMG, but now blights for 4/6/8 pts/tn
  • Kvarotz Otekh can now only summon 1 Tathuth on "Epicenter of Darkness"
  • Kvarotz Tathuth's base HP has been increased by 40%, SPD has been increased to 8/10/12
  • Kvarotz Tathuth's "Mindblower" Crit has been increased slightly, and had its Stress Dealt increased to 10/14/18
  • Kvarotz Tathuth is now required to take two actions before using "Mindblower"
  • Kvarotz Nerazz Mehkrub's base HP has been increased by ~20%
  • Kvarotz Mehkrub's base HP has been increased by ~20%
  • 3 Kvarotz Apihrs can no longer appear in any base mash
  • Kvarotz Otekh's "Epicenter of Darkness" can now only spawn up to 1 Apihr
  • Kvarotz Otekh's "Epicenter of Darkness" now all clears monster corpses before summoning new Kvarotz enemies
  • Sand Charmer's Health has been increased by ~20%
  • Sand Charmer's Self Damage from Charming Melody has been increased by 20%
  • Sand Charmer's Bleed/Blight Resists have been changed to 80/40% base, meaning he's now weak to blights and resistant to bleeds
  • Charmed Occultist's "Dune Reconstruction" can now target the Sand Charmer
  • Charmed Occultist's "Desert's Embrace" Stealth now lasts 2 tns instead of 3
  • Wildlander Reaver's Debuff Resist has been reduced to 20/45/70% base
  • Ghoul Painweaver's base Dodge has been reduced to 18 base
  • Ghoul Painweaver's "Weaving Wheel" Dodge buff has been reduced from 10/12/15 to 8/10/12
  • Ghoul Mother now drops normal trinkets, like other bosses
  • Yngolian's "Crater Creator" now deals ~10% less DMG
  • Yngolian's "Cosmic Alignment" now only summons 1 Y-Cell
  • Y-Cell's Stun/Blight/Bleed Resists has been lowered to 35/30/30% base
  • Bosses in general now drop higher rarity trinkets
  • Warhawk has received a rework of her fight
    • Ammo Crates are now indestructible, but can still be moved, Warhawk's Move resist has increased, Warhawk will load ammo from crate in front of her, and then move forward while attacking. When in position 1, will use more powerful AoE skill, shuffle party and move self back

[h3]Trinket Changes[/h3]
  • Celestial trinkets now require Veteran and Champion Yngolian kills in order to be leveled up (level 3/4 require Vet+, Level 5 requires Champ)
  • Smoldering Soapstone's Healing Done downside has been buffed to -60%
  • Warhawk's Set bonus now gives "+4 SPD if in Pos 4" instead of the Dmg buff if in Pos 1
  • Coordinating Whistle now gives +8 ACC vs Marked, +5% CRT vs Marked
  • Horn of Fervor no longer debuffs the party's ACC, but requires a Ranged Attack Hit for its effect
  • Clockwork Heart no longer debuffs the Leper's Max HP
  • Mercurial Salve now causes gives +20% Horror Amount Applied
  • Thief's Remorse now has a 0.25% chance of spawning instead of a 1% chance, and its cost has been reduced to 2500
  • Trotter's Snack now has an additional "+10% Move Chance per Vial" buff
  • Bullseye Bandana now only clears mark on "Sniper Shot" hit
  • Blissful Moment's Stress reduction now applies if Hexer has less than two Corruption vials
  • Spiked Collar now has an additional "+15% Debuff/Mark Skill Chance vs Not Bleeding" buff
  • Osmond Chains now have an additional "+15% Debuff/Mark Skill Chance if Stress is below 50" buff
  • Paralyzer's Crest Stun Chance Buff lowered to +15%
  • Sacred Scroll's Stun/Debuff/Mark chance Debuff increased to -15%, but given condition of "If torch below 76"
  • Lock of Fury now has an additional 5% Melee CRT buff
  • Arcane Armlet, Flashfire Gunpowder, and Warrior's Cap now give +4 ACC / +10% DMG for their respective skill type
  • Vicious Eyepatch's ACC debuff is now only active if the target's HP is above 50%
  • Longevity Eyepatch's ACC debuff is now only active if HP is below 60%
  • Bloodtaint Strain's Blight Amount Applied buff has been reduced to 25%
  • Pagan Talisman no longer Debuffs the holder's DMG
  • Hardy Helmet's Stun/Move Res buffs are active above 40% Max HP
  • Padded Chest Guard's Debuff/Mark/Bleed Res buffs are now active below 75% Max HP
  • Stimulating Antiserum's Disease/Blight buffs are now active below 65 Stress
  • Sun and Moon Cloak have had their -CRT reductions reduced to -5%
  • Dissonant Relic has had its -Max HP Debuff increased to -10%
  • Runic Blade now gives -10% DMG, and its DMG buff now lasts for 14 tns
  • Essence of Malignity now has a maximum payout of 4 Vestiges per battle, but doesn't debuff Stress Healing Received
  • Poacher's Garb's Drop Chance on kill has been increased to 67%, but now has a maximum payout of 2 per battle. Also, does not have -DMG debuff anymore
  • Amber Grinder now has a maximum payout of 4 Refined Amber per battle
  • Commanding Visage's Can't be Guarded Debuff now has a 110% -> 150% Chance of being applied (used to be guaranteed), debuff is no longer only applied to first target hit
  • Adjusted Tooltip for Hell's Hairpin to be more clear
  • Bloodlust Periapt self suffer hp has been decreased to 4, self buff duration increased to 6 tns
  • Treasury Perfumer line's Max HP downside has been reduced by 5% at all levels
  • Treasury Perfumer line's Restoration duration has been decreased to 2 tns at all levels
  • Catacombs Perfumer line's Dmg on Crit has been reduced by 2 pts base at at all levels (6/8/10/12 > 4/6/8/10)

Captain's Log: The Eclipse and Affiliation Changing

We're still hard at work on the next update! We'll likely try to have one more Captain's log before August 11th, but there's no guarantee.

This post will be going over our first Darkest level quest, a new roaming boss, and affiliation-changing items.

[h2]The Blackened Sun[/h2]
Similar to "Wolves at the Door", upon reaching the later stage of the game, the "Blackened Sun" Event can occur. This town event generates a short quest in the Exposed Interior, where your heroes must destroy the "Black Sun Beacon", a Kvarotz monument that's perpetuating the Eclipse.



[h2]Quest of Destruction[/h2]
This new quest has a new, unique torchlight to reflect the environmental changes of the Eclipse. This modifier includes some heavy downsides, especially for the heroes.



The Wildlander Painwarden also has a new ability, which allows her allies to apply bleed on their attack.



At the heart of the dungeon, your heroes will arrive at the beacon to find that you were not there first!
A stray Wildlander has managed to grab an otherworldly helmet, the centerpiece of the accursed beacon, and she will need to be defeated to destroy it.



Even after its defeat, this is not the last you've seen of the Flayed. The helmet's power overrides even death, and her possessed body can be found shambling across The Valley in champion/darkest missions.



[h2]Affiliation Changing Items[/h2]
The Flayed drops "Truthbearer", a new item that allows the player to change the affiliation of a singular hero to Pagan.



The Truthbearer's counterpart is the "Broken Halo" item which allows the player to change a hero's affiliation to Religious.
These items are dropped by the Lost Legion, specifically in Veteran/Champion level dungeons.



We're still sorting out a Faithless conversion item, however, it might not be ready for the update's initial release on the 11th.

Captain's Log: Road Map and Next Update

We hope you've all been enjoying exploring the Valley.
We wanted to update you guys about what we're working on and what you can look forward to in the future.

[h2]Road Map[/h2]
We've posted this to other platforms, but we do have a roadmap that outlines our progress on the mod, and goes over the remaining updates.



As you can see, there's not a whole lot left. We're currently working on the Ship Event update before wrapping with final Black Reliquary update.

[h2]Ship Event Update Details[/h2]
The Ship Event update will be released on August 11th, and will include:
  • New Ship Events
  • Two new plot quests started by Ship Events, including our first Darkest (Lv 6) quest
  • Philomath Class add-on
  • Thrall Class add-on
  • Symptom/Disease system adjustments
  • New Celestial Trinkets and some adjustments to their progression
  • Replacement of Ancestral trinkets: "Twilight" rarity trinkets
  • New rare Estate items that allow heroes to change their affiliation
  • Many balance changes and adjustments

Here are some examples of what we're working on:
[h2]Ship Event Progress[/h2]
While we've had a lot of different ideas for Ship Events, many of them unfortunately had to be canned due to limitations of Darkest Dungeon modding and time constraints.

We're looking to add a total of 25 new ship events, ranging from events that provide simple buffs on your next expedition to introducing new, more difficult challenges.

Here are just a couple examples of some Ship Events:
The shooting competition ship event as pictured here is planned to offer up ranged bonuses for the next quest.

This gambling-lock event is the result of some bestial hijinks that got out of hand.

This last ship event depicts the remains of a brew that was corrupted by Cactonid spawn, resulting in a somewhat explosive beverage.


We'll be showcasing more of these town events in future Captain's Logs.

[h2]Symptom/Disease Changes[/h2]

The first Symptom/Disease adjustment we've made is to make it so that disease kits are able to completely remove freshly acquired symptoms. Previously, we wanted to make tended symptoms and diseases cheaper to remove, but sadly that wasn't an option, therefore it often felt like a waste of money to buy the disease kits, as you'd still have to remove disease in the Clinic. To somewhat balance this change out, the time for the symptom to evolve was halved.

[h3]Special Disease Changes[/h3]

We've also made some adjustments to the Ghoul Plague and Rictus Mortis special diseases (the latter of which is available when the Hexer Class add-on is enabled). These two diseases have some special effects which make them a valuable part of a character under specific circumstances. An issue with those diseases however, was that it was difficult to keep people with just that disease, as any way of curing diseases had a risk of curing the special diseases too. We're adjusting them as to make it so that they push out common diseases as well as prevent the hero from getting any other diseases . This way you can retain your team of special heroes without risk of clearing the status. However, these special diseases will not be curable on the Flameseeker, and instead need be cured by camp skills or curios. Additionally, Ghouls will no longer randomly apply Ghoul Fever to your heroes in combat.

[h2]Philomath Addon[/h2]

The Philomath is a counter-defense support hero with potential high damage options, but at the cost of being exceptionally frail. Her power and fragility are substantially amplified upon affliction, coupled with unique relationships to stress.

To have her fit into BR, we've had to rebalance the stats on herself and her skills. We've also adjusted her to be Pagan-favoring, which is reflected in some of her abilities.
Due to her increased value in the prep round, some aspects have been dialed back accordingly.


We've gotten a handle on her skills and her trinkets, but there's still a lot of art assets that need to be finalized for her to be release-ready.

Gameplay Patch 6 (4/30/2023)

Hello Crew!

While working on the Ship Events update, we found some pretty major crash fixes and bugs that we wanted to push to live. Since we were going to push some fixes to live, we figured we'd just ship a full on balance patch.

Noticeable adjustments this update include:
-Fixing the crash that sometimes occurs when you have both Amberblight and Expiate on the same enemy
-Buffing a bunch of Bosses :)
-Reworking Bola

Again, this is likely our last large-scale balance update until the Ship Event update unless something major pops up. We'll be devoting most of our time towards new content updates from now on.

[h2]Fixes[/h2]
  • Fixed issue where enemies with Expiate/Amberblight applied to them sometimes crashed the game when they used a friendly skill
  • Fixed issue where old provision icon was used in the Camping Tutorial Popup
  • Fixed issue where an inaccurate positive quirk removal cost was shown in the Clinic Tutorial Popup
  • Updated some help menu pop-up tooltips that were outdated
  • Updated the First Mate's Provision sprite to make Reflex Serum's Price more readable
  • Adjusted Sprites offsets for Antiquarian/Occultist/Veiled Mystical skills so their sprites are spaced a little further away from enemies
  • Made more internal adjustments to Shovel Bash in a futile attempt to fix the crash it causes (requires testing)
  • Made some internal adjustments to Cactonid Alraune's animations to help prevent crashes when loading into her quest
  • Fixed issue where Levantine Enchantress healed 100 stress when you encountered her. I have no clue how this wasn't ever reported
  • Fixed issue where Levantine Janissary's "Keep Them Busy" didn't respect summon limits for individual enemies
  • Fixed issue where Levantine Appraiser's "Blinding Powder" didn't apply Stress
  • Fixed issue where Otekh counted as an Apprentice level enemy on Vet/Champ for trinkets and ADoTs
  • Fixed issue where using Cleansing Salt on Legion Decapitations showed as a negative interaction despite it being positive
  • Fixed issue where "Rotten To the Core" didn't apply Amberblight if used in a Hunting Pack
  • Fixed issue where Troglodyte Slinger's "Sickening Spew" Blight Chance didn't increase with difficulty
  • Fixed issue where Ghoul Miser's head was clipping over the chest it holds
  • Fixed issue where Wildlander Hellion's "Fearsome YAWP!" Debuff chance on Prep round didn't scale with difficulty

Warhawk likely requires some more extensive changes to her fight overall, but it's not quite in scope for us to completely rework her any time soon.

    -Accuracy on all of his attacks and his Riposte has been increased by 3
  • Wildlander Warhawk:
    -Now has 35% PROT
  • Greater Wurm:
    -The Maw Opens is now a free action that occurs if the Wurm Tongue is not alive at the start of a round
    -Wurm Tongue is now immune to Stun
  • Cactonid Alraune:
    -The time between using "Looking for Love" and "Matchmaker" has been decreased to 1 tn (she uses Looking for Love, uses another attack, and then uses Matchmaker)
  • Nucleic Core:
    -All Thicket Segments and the Core itself have had their Bleed Resist increased by 10% and Debuff/Mark Resist increased by 5%
    -"Take Root" now targets two random heroes

Gameplay Patch 5 (4/17/2023)

This update looks to adjust some more pain points that players have been experiencing, as well as squash some more bugs that have been discovered.

Noticeable adjustments include:
-Removing Yngolian Random spawns from all dungeons
-Updating curio interactions so skeleton keys are a bit more useful
-Updating Prep stress to be significantly less impactful
-Adding some new Anti-Stealth measures to enemies
-New Party names!

This is likely our last large-scale balance update. We'll be focusing on creating and implementing new content after this one. We may still have a couple of smaller-scale adjustments to either fix bugs caused by this update or to remedy any extreme bugs or balance issues that are discovered.

  • Vestal's base CRT on her Weapon has been increased by 1% to 2/3/4/5/6%
  • Vestal's "Mace Bash" CRT base increased by 4%, Hand of Light CRT base decreased by 1%, and Dazzling Light CRT base decreased by 1%
  • Crusader's base CRT on his Weapon has been increased by 1% to 4/5/6/7/8%
  • Crusader's Smite CRT base increased by 2%, Stunning Blow CRT base increased by 1%, and Holy Lance CRT base decreased by 1%

  • Yngolian:
    -No longer spawns at 0 torch, he only spawns from the curio.
    -Bleed/Blight Resistance have had their values adjusted to 65/90/115%
    -Cosmic Alignment no longer applies Stress, summons 2 Y-Cells instead of 1, and has a 1 tn cooldown
    -SPD has been increased by 4 in all difficulties
    -Y-Cells have had their Bleed/Blight Resistance values adjusted to 45/70/95%
  • Levantine Enchantress:
    -"Rapacious Devour" can no longer be Riposted
  • Wildlander Warhawk:
    -"Leeching Projectile" is now "Prickly Projectile". Instead of Leeching the target hero, it now applies a heavy Blight and Healing Received Debuff to the Target
    -"Chlorophyll Cannon" is now "Leeching Spew" and targets Pos 2+3+4 and instead of applying a Blight, it now applies Leeching
    -"Salvo of Steel" has had its Bleed amount reduced to 8/3
  • Troglodyte Gastrosaur:
    -Bleed/Blight Resistance have had their values adjusted to to 75%
  • Cactonid Alraune:
    -Courter and Suitor's Healthbars now change color when they have a hero inside of them to help signify that they are immune to DMG

  • All bosses now drop both of their trophy trinkets from quest rewards. (Will need to pass a week for this to take affect)
  • Levantine Rakshasa's "Spirit's Claws" now applies a +15/20/25% Stress Received Debuff
  • Levantine Rakshasa's "Cry of the Spirit" now deals significantly less Stress during Prep Round
  • Levantine Firewalker's "Pressure Malfunction" no longer buffs SPD
  • Levantine Firewalker's "Catastrophic Eruption" now applies 10/12/14 Stress
  • Levantine Appraiser's "Blinding Powder" now ignores and clear Stealth
  • Wildlander Bombard's "Reveal the Weaklings" no longer buffs her party's ACC/CRT, now instead it Debuffs the hero party's DODGE/Crits Received
  • Wildlander Bombards can no longer spawn in groups of 3

  • Stone Reliquary can now spawn in the Caverns and the Exposed Interior

  • Half-Eaten Body Bag now has a Bandage Interaction
  • Broken-Down Dredge now has a Skeleton Key interaction
  • Skeleton Key interaction on the Wildlander Pillory now gives a Stress Heal instead of the Considerate quirk
  • Cleansing Salt interaction on the Legion Decapitations now gives a +35% Virtue Chance buff instead of the Undaunted quirk
  • The Wildlander Thrall Curio now gives 1/1.5/2 stacks of relics instead of a small bit of supplies/random loot

[h3]Trinket Changes[/h3]
  • Trinkets that apply Debuffs to exclusively the trinket holder can no longer have their Debuffs cleared
  • Halved CRT Debuff on Gunslinger's Buckle to -3%
  • Recovery Charm has had its Healing Received buffs reduced by 5% each
  • Two of Three now Steals Stealth on both Ranged and Mystical attacks
  • Amber Grinder now only gives +25% DMG and +30% Armor Piercing if has Refined Amber Dust in Inventory
  • Resurrection's Collar has been updated to:
    +25% Healing Received if HP is below 40%
    +75% Healing Received if on Death's Door
    -15% Max HP
  • Vial of Ashes has been updated to:

[h3]Misc. Changes[/h3]
  • Reduced the chance of Medium-Length missions spawning in level 0 Dungeons
  • Low Torch no longer increases the chance of gaining stress from RNG-based stress attacks (this was vestigial from vanilla torch)
  • Automat's Jewelry Price has been reduced to 100, and its Lost Tek Price has been reduced to 150
  • Egg Trap in the Caverns has had its chance to apply Symptoms reduced to 15/20/25%
  • Kvarotz Otekh now counts as a Boss for the "Trophy Hunter" quirk
  • Daric Drops have had their min and max amounts reduced, should allow for a more consistent number of Darics being dropped
  • Added ~25 new Party names, and ill likely add more for Hexer/Veiled Comps down the line
