Performance Update - Patch Notes 0.9.15
We’ve been hard at work optimizing the game to ensure a smoother and better experience for everyone. While there’s still room for improvement, this patch brings significant upgrades that should make SULFUR feel better than ever. 🖥️✨
✨ Improvements: ✨
🏃 Performance overhaul! The game runs smoother on all machines, no matter how ancient or shiny.
🎨 Replaced all PNG sprites with SVGs, switching out pixels for vector art—think of it as upgrading from a 20-year-old Renault to a 10-year-old Volvo. Reliable, efficient, and just better. 🚗 🇸🇪
🖼️ Effects, environments, and levels have been reworked to be far less taxing on your hardware.
⏳ Loading times are noticeably faster.
🔥 Melee enemies now also have the ability to use elemental effects!
🔫 Bullet holes are now limitless and will never tank performance, and enemies stay above ground so you can spray away with confidence!
🌩️ Aftershock has been nerfed and now has a 10% chance of triggering instead of 100%.
☝️Note: Later areas like the Dungeon still need a bit more work, but the framerate is definitely more stable with fewer hiccups. (We know what more to do, but we just don’t have time right now because it’s Christmas, Swedish tradition demands us to watch Donald Duck cartoons and eat Janssons Frestelse, and we’re already neglecting our children/families enough as it is. 🎄🎅)
🐛 Bug Fixes:
🐶 Dogs can no longer be cheesed by doing that little backstep.
🗺️ Fixed an issue where item names didn’t properly localize in break notifications. 💬🌍
🦾 Stiffleg now correctly misses the right arm—not the wrong one. We’ve triple-checked. I think.
🌋 Fixed elemental damage from poison, frost, and lava unfairly stacking against you. ❄️☠️🔥
Additions:
🚀 The rocket enchantment is back! Use responsibly.
🐬 The Dolphin has been buffed—now deadlier, snappier, and hopefully more ready to make waves among y’all.
👣 New Enemy Mutation: Elemental trails
