Early access feature #1 : the art of crafting

Among the new features available at the early access launch of Mutants: Genesis, today we're having a close up on the deckbuilding menu, specifically the crafting tool, the must-have for tweaking your decks and gaining power.
Currency
In Mutants: Genesis, it is possible for players to create specific cards from a dedicated currency called Mutagens.

Mutagens logo

This currency is obtained by recycling extra copies of cards obtained through capsules. The player can see how many Mutagens they currently have at the top of the screen.
Recycling
When a player opens a capsule, if they get a card that they already have the maximum number of copies of (1 for heroic cards, 3 for all others), then the card is automatically recycled.

In exchange, the player gets a fixed number of Mutagens, depending on the rarity of the card.
Unowned cards
From the deckbuilding menu, players can use their Mutagens to create cards of their choice.

The Crafting tool is integrated into the deckbuilding menu: now players can access the unowned cards in their collection.

These cards will appear when the Unowned option at the top of the screen is activated. Unowned cards will appear in the collection in a grayed out format. An unowned card can be found in a decklist, if it comes from a deck import. The boxes are also grayed out.

⚠️ If a player does not have enough copies of a card in a list, the owned and unowned copies are split into two boxes: one solid, one grayed out, each with its own copy counter.

When a player interacts with an unowned card (left-click to put it in the deck from the collection, or right-click from anywhere to open the detailed info), the detailed info pops up directly in craft mode.

Campaign cards are not craftable. ⚠️
Copy dots
The possession indicator under the cards has been changed.

From now on, there should always be a dot for each maximum possible copy of a card. Heroic cards will always have 1 dot, all others will have 3 dots. These dots have three states: not owned, owned and not present in the deck, and owned in the deck.
Craft Mode
In the deckbuilding screen only, the detailed info popup of a card is enhanced.
When a player tries to put a copy of an unowned card into their deck, instead of nothing happening, the game will open the detailed info popup of the card in question, directly opened in Craft mode.

In this mode, the player will be able to create a new copy of the card in exchange for his Mutagens.

Here is the information about this special mode in the popup:

 • A reminder of the mutagens owned
 • A reminder of the owned card copies
 • An information button: when clicked, a popup containing text appears indicating how the crafting system works.

 • The Craft button: with an upper part depending on the rarity (See below: Special cases: Ultra and Heroic Craft) and several possible situations:
 • the player has enough Mutagens
 • the player does not have enough Mutagens
 • the player now has the maximum number of copies
 • the card is not craftable

 • The mode switching button: by clicking on this button, the player goes back to detailed information mode. He can switch back to craft mode via the same button, also located in detailed information mode
.

There is an additional limitation regarding Ultra and Heroic cards crafting.
These cards, in addition to requiring Mutagens, require a special item called the
