What is Mutants: Genesis?

With our game announcement, it is clear we wanted ot give you a bit of details on what is the game and how it is played, so here we go!
[h3]So what is Mutants: Genesis?[/h3]
Mutants: Genesis is a free-to-play online card game that makes players take the role of Psycogs, powerful humans with the ability to control mutants.
In Mutants: Genesis your objective will be to prevail on the battlefield by destroying your opponent’s Psycore while defending your own in PvP or defeating the various enemies that will challenge you in PvE.
To do that, you will use a deck of 40 cards that will use a combination of different abilities to ensure your dominance.
[h3]Mutants: Genesis and its cards[/h3]
Mutants: Genesis is a turn by turn card game. You and your opponent will each take turns to play cards in the best way possible to take the advantage.
First, you’ll have to build a deck by choosing a Gene that will define your Psycore, this will also limit which cards you can put in your deck and your Starting Card. The Starting Card is a basic Mutant that will be available to you each turn.
Cards come in different types. You have your Mutants, which are your main tools and can be divided in 3 categories : basic, advanced and heroic.
You can have up to 5 Mutants on the field.
Incubation is one of the key differences with other card games. Mutants: Genesis does not have ressources like : mana, lands, etc. Instead, you will need to incubate some Mutants cards by putting them in your Psycore or buildings that allow you to do that. They will then stay there for a set number of turns indicated on the card.
Other cards you can find are: support and buildings.
Now here is a quick look about what informations you can find on the Mutant Cards:
Once you have made your deck using those 3 types of cards you are ready to face the challenges of Mutants: Genesis!
[h3]How is Mutants: Genesis played?[/h3]
Each player starts with a hand of card, the first player will have 5 and the second 6. You can mulligan, meaning putting back in the deck any number of cards you deem unnecessary in your opening hand and then drawing new ones.
Once this is done, it is your turn: it is now time to try to destroy the opponent’s Psycore!
To do that, you can play:
But keep in mind the principle of card advantage! Card advantage is totalling the amount of cards on the board and in your hand, the higher the better : it means you have possibilities of play.
Each turn starts, you’ll draw a card and get your Starting Basic Mutant. Your Mutants can attack directly when they are summoned (Except during the first round of the game!). They can target any mutants or building on the board, except when some abilities like Guardian come into play.
All there is left to do is to win the game!

- You can play up to 1 basic card each turn directly on the battlefield.
- Advanced are generally stronger and will require that you incubate them first for 1 to 2 turns.
- Heroics have a huge impact on the game but need more time to incubate.

- Buildings will take one of the 3 slots available on your board and provide different bonuses or abilities while they are in play : some may allow you to incubate more, draw or trigger specific abilities when you do something in particular.
