Dev Blog丨RaidZone Major Update, 72-Hour Challenge Begins!
[p][/p][p]Dev Blog丨RaidZone Major Update, 72-Hour Challenge Begins![/p][p]Dear RaidZone Metas:[/p][p]Since the launch of Once Human: RaidZone, we’ve maintained a steady update schedule with one major patch per month. In the upcoming Version 2.3.1 on January 21 (PT), we’re thrilled to announce that RaidZone will receive a massive update, bringing significant improvements to gameplay and feature refinement.[/p][p]Additionally, to help more Metas experience the allure of RaidZone, we’re introducing a special event—RaidZone: 72-Hour! Servers will run for only 3 days (72-hour), with doubled efficiency for key resource acquisition and daily bulk supply drops to accelerate your progress. Hourly Echoite drops will be up for grabs—securing them is key to becoming the King of RaidZone! We invite more Metas to join this adventure and encourage you to team up with friends to conquer RaidZone![/p][p]I. Preview of RaidZone's Major Update[/p][p]New weapons[/p][p]1. FP-9[/p][p]A low Fire Rate Full-auto Submachine Gun suitable for early-game use. It can be unlocked via Tech and crafted at the Intermediate Gear Workbench. The unlock position is located below Shotguns.[/p][p]The TEC9 will serve as a replacement for the MPS5, as their roles are essentially the same. Correspondingly, the MPS5's role will also be adjusted.[/p][p]
[/p][p]2. EBR-14[/p][p]A more stable and powerful semi-automatic weapon than the SKS, unlockable through Tech and craftable at the Advanced Gear Workbench. The unlock position is located below the AKM.[/p][p]
[/p][p]New Resource Protection System[/p][p]To alleviate concerns about resource loss during intense combat, we've introduced two gentle protection mechanisms:[/p][p]1. Safe Backpack[/p][p]Absolute Protection: Items placed in Safe Backpack slots are fully protected and will not drop when your character is knocked down/dispersed.[/p][p]Slot Acquisition: Each Meta unlocks 2 safe slots by default. You can also accept quests from merchants in Neutral Settlements to unlock up to 2 additional slots.[/p][p]Access Restrictions: To ensure fair competition, Explosive items and related crafting materials cannot be placed in the Safe Backpack.[/p][p]2. Territory Vault[/p][p]Asset Retention: The Territory Terminal now features a "Vault" function. Even if the Territory Terminal is destroyed by enemies, items in the Vault will not disappear and will automatically reappear when you build the next Territory Terminal.[/p][p]Categorized Storage: The Vault has three separate tabs: "General Items," "Weapons," and "Armor."[/p][p]Capacity Upgrade: Similar to backpacks, you can upgrade the Vault up to 2 times by completing merchant quests in Neutral Settlements, increasing storage slots for each tab.[/p][p]Access Restrictions: Likewise, Explosive items and related crafting materials cannot be stored in the Vault.[/p][p]Added Knockdown Replay[/p][p]Added a knockdown replay system. You can watch the process of being defeated by clicking "Knockdown Replay" in the knockodown interface. Additionally, a "Report" function entry has been added to the knockdown replay interface.[/p][p]Note: Metas on mobile must download the latest version from the app store for this update to take effect.[/p][p]New Event: Rosetta Armed Patrol[/p][p]1. Airspace Threat: Rosetta armed patrol aircraft will periodically cruise between wilderness settlements. When they appear, special pins will be displayed on the main map, and a server-wide alert will be issued.[/p][p]2. Engagement Rules: Patrol aircraft will actively attack Metas with certain gear levels, and their attacks can damage structures.[/p][p]3. Shootdown Rewards: Shooting down patrol aircraft will drop special Echoite, providing a new way to obtain rare supplies.[/p][p]New Siege Tool: Straight Ladder[/p][p]Deploy Without Permission: "Straight Ladder" has been added to the open world.[/p][p]Tactical Value: Unlike Basic structures, Straight Ladders can be built on Territory structures of other Metas (even if you lack building/friend permissions for that Territory).[/p][p]This means attackers can use Straight Ladders to quickly climb to high floors of enemy structures, launching surprise assaults from unexpected angles—ushering in a new era of three-dimensional combat.[/p][p]New Facility: Tactical Storage Box[/p][p]Added the "Tactical Storage Box" facility, which can store a set of weapons, armor, and Hotbar items for quick gear changes and combat readiness.[/p][p]New Deployable Wilderness Respawn Point: Sleeping Bag[/p][p]Added the deployable wilderness respawn facility "Sleeping Bag." Now, you can establish temporary tactical respawn points near objectives or hidden areas in the wild, maintaining sustained pressure on the frontlines.[/p][p]To ensure fairness and strategic depth in combat, we've adjusted the respawn cooldown mechanics: Each respawn point has its own fixed cooldown timer, with shorter cooldowns for respawn points within Territories.[/p][p]New Cheat-Related Loss Compensation Mechanism[/p][p]If the system detects cheating behavior, or if a Meta actively reports and verifies cheating: The system will swiftly ban the offender.[/p][p]Meanwhile, the system will trace back data to calculate the actual material losses suffered by compliant Metas due to the cheating behavior.[/p][p]We will intensify penalties against cheaters to better protect the efforts of every Meta upholding fair play.[/p][p]II. RaidZone 72-Hour: Fight for the Throne![/p][p]To help more Metas experience the thrill of RaidZone, we’ll launch a special event after the update: RaidZone 72-Hour, featuring a brand-new 3-day intense combat suit.[/p][p]1. Event Period: From the Version 2.3.1 update on January 21, 2026, until February 24 (PT). The first batch of servers will open at 19:00 on January 22 (Server Time). Registration begins post-update. At least one server per region will be available for Metas to experience, with more opening based on participation.[/p][p]Servers hosting RaidZone 72-Hour will be listed under a separate scenario category labeled "Event Server." Select it from the registration interface to join.[/p][p]
[/p][p]An in-game event menu explains event rules. Access it via: PC (F3 hotkey) or Mobile (Menu Button > Event Button).[/p][p]
[/p][p]2. Event Rules:[/p][p]1) 72-Hour Fast-Paced Server, Decisive Battle in 3 Days! The Event server lasts only 72 hours, but with significantly increased resource acquisition efficiency. You can also claim abundant daily supplies to fuel your rapid combat![/p][p]
[/p][p]2) Compete for Echoite Drops, Collect RaidZone Badges, and Become the King of RaidZone! During the activity, Echoite drops will occur every hour, containing special items: RaidZone Badges. These Badges cannot be stored outside your backpack and will drop entirely upon death. Each server ranks players based on the number of Badges in their backpack. The top 50 Metas will receive leaderboard rewards, while the top 3 will earn exclusive event trophies, proving their glorious status.[/p][p]Note: Leaderboard rewards will be distributed after the Event Server ends. Early exit from the server will clear all RaidZone Badges, making you ineligible for leaderboard rewards.[/p][p]* For Metas suspected of using cheats, we will reclaim all leaderboard rewards and publicly announce the ban and revocation details on the official website. We encourage Metas to actively report abnormal gameplay behavior to uphold the fairness and justice of the RaidZone![/p][p]
[/p][p]3) Gather Colorful Fragments to Craft Exclusive Skins! During the event, both RaidZone and event servers will drop Colorful Fragments from Echoite. These fragments can be used to craft event-exclusive skins and Dyes. Note that Colorful Fragments also cannot be stored outside your backpack—they will drop entirely upon death and be cleared upon leaving the server. You must collect and secure them during your journey.[/p][p]* Metas not in RaidZone Mode can exchange event skins using Starwish Tokens.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]III. Enhanced RaidZone Experience & Optimizations Now Live[/p][p]Ore Distribution Adjustments[/p][p]In the 2.2.5 update, we made significant adjustments to ore distribution. Notably, the reduction of ores in the eastern part of the map to create a low-resource zone received enthusiastic suggestions and feedback from Metas. Our original intention was to allow Metas to have unique growth experiences in each region based on their playstyle, while also slowing down the in-game development pace to give lone-wolf players more room to grow.[/p][p]However, we noticed that after the last update, the reduction in ores exceeded our expectations. Particularly, iron ore—the most basic resource in RaidZone Mode—was too scarce in the eastern region, negatively impacting the experience of many new Metas. This contradicts our original intent. To further ensure a better play experience, this update will include the following ore adjustments and optimizations:[/p][p]1. Comprehensive Ore Resource Recovery[/p][p]Eastern Region: We will significantly increase the ore density in the eastern region to address the difficulty of finding basic ores like iron.[/p][p]Global Increase: To maintain the resource gradient design across regions, while boosting the eastern area, we have proportionally increased ore reserves in other regions as well. The total ore quantity across the map will see a substantial rise.[/p][p]Note: Despite the overall increase, we’ve retained the distinction between "mining areas" and "non-mining areas" to encourage exploration for rich ore deposits.[/p][p]2. Optimization of Basic Gathering Efficiency[/p][p]Stone Gathering Efficiency Boost: After the update, stone gathering efficiency will be tripled.[/p][p]Objective: We want players to collect stone more easily, upgrade quickly, and build satisfactory Stone defensive structures to prepare for potential battles at any time.[/p][p]3. Increased Scavenging Rewards in the Wild[/p][p]Roadside Resource Boost: Increased the yield of items found in abandoned vehicles and roadside junk boxes in the wild.[/p][p]Lone-Wolf Friendly Mechanism: For novice or lone-wolf Metas who find it difficult to raid large strongholds, substantial materials can now be obtained simply by roadside gathering. This allows them to craft desired weapons and equipment or build shelters more quickly.[/p][p]Following this version update, we will continue to monitor feedback from Metas and optimize the experience accordingly. Thank you for your support and understanding![/p][p]Territory Construction[/p][p]1. There is now a chance to scavenge pre-built "Straight Ladders" in the wild, which can be used within enemy Territory.[/p][p]2. Initial Construction Upgrade: To help new Metas survive the first night more safely, starting houses will now include default walls and roofs.[/p][p]3. Added Preset House Designs: We've introduced more defensive blueprints specifically designed for high-threat environments in RaidZone Mode, balancing survival and defensive functions.[/p][p]4. Added Battle Report Summary Feature. Now, after your Territory is attacked or successfully defends against an invasion, the system will generate a detailed battle report.[/p][p]You can review defense vulnerabilities through battle reports, analyze enemy firepower configurations, and optimize your defensive layout accordingly.[/p][p]5. Constructing and repairing Intermediate Supplies Workbenches and Intermediate Gear Workbenches no longer requires tungsten ingots, while steel ingot costs have increased from 300 to 400.[/p][p]Resource Balance[/p][p]In intense stronghold battles, we noticed that high repair costs often exhaust defenders during post-war reconstruction. To allow players to focus more on combat strategy rather than tedious material gathering, we've made the following adjustments:[/p][p]1. Large Storage Box construction materials adjusted to Wood*300 and Steel Ingot*10.[/p][p]2. The crafting materials for the low-level Shield Generator have been adjusted to 3 Glass and 1 Metal Scrap.[/p][p]3. Glass, Crafting Parts, and Military Gears have been removed from reinforcement and repair costs for all levels of doors, windows, and balconies (construction remains unaffected). After this maintenance update, you can use basic materials (Wood, Stone, Iron Ingots, Tungsten Ingots) for repairs and reinforcements.[/p][p]Reverse Engineering Upgrade[/p][p]To smoothen combat supply acquisition, the reverse engineering feature now supports learning the Formulas for "Explosives Compound" and "Molotov Cocktail."[/p][p]By reverse-engineering finished products obtained from enemy drops or in the wild, you'll more easily master the crafting techniques for these key Explosive items.[/p][p][/p][p]In addition, more optimizations are coming—stay tuned for the version update announcement. That's all for this Dev Blog. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Once Human Development Team[/p]
