Update 1.1 Available Now!

[p]Update 1.1 is now available, packed with enhancements and bug fixes. Here are some of the major highlights new to this version: [/p]
  • [p]Sokoban-based puzzle rooms can now appear around the dungeon, rewarding you with a risk-free way to skip floors if you can solve them![/p]
  • [p]Mysterious mirrors can now be found around the dungeon, offering you a passive effect that significantly impacts your run, for better or worse![/p]
  • [p]The Reaper now has the ability to bring corpses back to life![/p]
  • [p]The Lich now has a Lightning Bolt ranged attack.[/p]
  • [p]The Revenant can now summon monsters.[/p]
  • [p]Monster Nests now appear around the dungeon that can reward the player with special loot, if the monster guarding it isn’t home![/p]
  • [p]Added a new scroll called the Scroll of Monster Liberation. [/p]
  • [p]Improvements to the UI that make casting spells much easier. [/p]
  • [p]You can now interact with thralls and choose to Absolve or Annihilate them.[/p]
  • [p]Scroll of Recharging no longer charges all wands - instead it now randomly charges one wand or bag in your inventory.[/p]

  • [p]Role-specific perks! For example, Rogues can open locked chests easier and Valkyries have cold resistance which is very useful when dealing with ice bolts from Zombies and the Reaper![/p]

[p]I am happy to announce that DeAnima will be launching on Steam on 1st December at 6PM GMT (10AM PST), priced at just £8.50/$9.99/€9.75 (with a 10% launch discount)![/p][p]To celebrate the launch, the following new features have been added since the last demo release:[/p]

Demo Updated to v0.36.3

[p]The demo has now been updated to the latest version - v0.36.3.[/p][p]New Features:[/p]
  • [p]3 new rings! Ring of Compulsion, Ring of Urgency, and Ring of Detection. [/p]
  • [p]3 new scrolls! Scroll of Destroy Chests, Scroll of Monster Rebirth and Scroll of Enrage Monster.[/p]
  • [p]2 new wands! Wand of Invisibility and Wand of Sating.[/p]
  • [p]A new special room: Accursed Chamber! [/p]
  • [p]A new trap: Polymorph Trap.[/p]
  • [p]Ring of Teleportation is no longer based on low health - whenever you take a hit there is a chance it will activate.[/p]
  • [p]Added Corpse Intrinsic effects - positive and negative effects of eating a corpse is now linked to the type of monster. [/p]
  • [p]Added new conduct called Vigilant which shirks close-ranged combat, including bare hands (Replaces Jock conduct).[/p]
  • [p]"In the Dark" conduct has been renamed to Tenebrous.[/p]
  • [p]Corpses can now be destroyed by wand projectiles.[/p]
  • [p]Substantial improvements to Altar deity logic.[/p]
  • [p]Throwing now hits monsters instantly. [/p]
  • [p]Added dedicated key to throw a random monster.[/p]
  • [p]You now hold down SHIFT for Fast Play Mode.[/p]
  • [p]Fayora now charges 50 gold per identification.[/p]
  • [p]Skeptic conduct updated to include being skeptical of wishes.[/p]
  • [p]When you eat a Medusa corpse, it now causes instant death by petrification![/p]
  • [p]Corpse throw damage now varies depending on the monster type. [/p]
  • [p]All monsters now have an associated "vault item".[/p]
  • [p]Improvements to character role starting items based on playtesting and feedback. [/p]
  • [p]Redesigned the Game Kills screen. [/p]
  • [p]Various improvements to the tutorial based on demo and playtest feedback. [/p]
  • [p]Praying too soon at the Divine Conduit now makes your deity furious.[/p]
  • [p]Major performance improvements all round! [/p]
  • [p]Major map improvements including a much larger full-map and higher resolution. [/p]

Playtest Extended Until Monday, 22nd September, 2025!

[p]Thank you to everyone who has participated in the playtest so far. For those of you who haven’t had time to try it out yet, good news - I’m extending it until Monday 22nd September, 2025! [/p][p]

  1. [p]Head to the Steam Page and request playtest access.[/p]
  2. [p]Once you have access, descend to Floor 10, find The Crown then retreat back up to Floor 1 to escape the dungeon and beat the game![/p]

  • [p]Wishlist the game if you haven't already.[/p]
  • [p]The playtest build only contains a part of the game but, unlike the demo, it’s much more representative of the full gameplay experience.[/p]
  • [p]Compared to the demo (Floors 1-6, 4 character roles), the playtest includes 8 character roles to unlock and opens up the dungeon so that you can test the entire main experience (beating the game by escaping with The Crown).[/p]
