ROADMAP: A SNEAK PEEK INTO FLEET ASSAULT DEVELOPMENT

Attention all PhaigeX employees. This is a warning for the upcoming threat that's building up.

Sightings from our Recon satellites have found anomalous units that are unknown to our current database. It seems that the rogue AI is starting to evolve and adapt to our efforts in stopping its incursion. Fortunately, we have collected some combat data about them, to be used once an encounter in the future is inevitable. The enemy forces are starting to gather once again, and soon enough... we will need to mount a full-on Fleet Assault and prevent their advance.
FLEET ASSAULT NEW ENEMY UNITS
• Light-Class Unit [Shade]: This unit does not seem to have weapons equipped, but it seems to be emitting a jamming signal that cuts off communications to the support craft, preventing support calls.

• Light-Class Unit [Warden]: Another weaponless unit, but equipped with a directional shield that can block attacks from one direction. This unit could be a bane in landing attacks to the units it protects.

• Light-Class Unit [Phantasm]: A long-range unit, equipped with a beam weapon that can shoot from afar. Could spell trouble in groups.

• Medium-Class Unit [Avenger]: A wide-shaped heavily-armed ship, equipped with kinetic turrets
and high-explosive missiles that deals area damage per missile. Definitely a high-priority threat.

• New Elite Units... and more!

NOTE: Ship sprites are still subject to changes.
DEV NOTES
The development of Fleet Assault game mode is still on-going. Currently, the focus is on the conceptualization and implementation of new enemy units and incursion events. After this, the next step is to design challenging fleet setups with the enemies' arsenal. The game mode is starting to shape up, so please look forward to the completion of the Fleet Assault game mode soon!

Towards a brighter future,

The PhaigeX MegaCorp.

6/10/2023 PATCH NOTES

Another great day of good work, PhaigeX employees!

Following the recently-implemented Power Up Pack and the new mechanics it introduced, some changes has to be made to the existing arsenal in order to have harmonious interactions. As always, we are always on the lookout for areas for improvement, and swiftly resolve issues that arise during the update.
Workspace Improvements
•
Added Graphics Quality Settings in Options
It is now possible to adapt to slower-running systems by reducing the graphics quality, together with changing the target resolution. Hopefully this will improve the performance on systems that have slowdown/lagging issues running the game.
  •
Fallout Cloud and Burst Fever Levels Re-arrangement
The level progression for these upgrades have been re-arranged a bit to have a better pace in terms of utility. These should be more useful now in the earlier levels.
  •
[Energy Cluster] shots Interaction with Dispersal Chaff
While the Clusterforces' SP Tech is a powerful weapon against enemies, being an energy-based weapon, it should weaken while going through chaff clouds. This interaction should now work properly.
  •
Updated Visual Effects for New Powerups and selected Ship Modifiers
Visual indicators have been added to some ship modifiers when their behavior trigger has been reached, to show the effect is working. In addition, the visuals for the new powerups have been improved, and should look more appealing.
Resolved Issues
•
Fixed unlock requirement of "My Precious" achievement
•
Fixed [Support Barrier] damage bug affecting Fortress Armor
•
Fixed Controller UI bug

Ongoing Plans
•
Completion of Fleet Assault Mode
These adjustments to the current arsenal are preparations for the upcoming new mechanics to complete the Fleet Assault Mode. Expect the enemy forces to have defensive abilities to counter the player ships' arsenal, and to have more threatening attacks at its disposal.

The roadmap is still proceeding as planned. Look forward to the new stuff we'll be implementing to spice up the Fleet Assault game mode.

Towards a brighter future,

The PhaigeX MegaCorp.

ROADMAP: POWERUP PACK MILESTONE REACHED!

Greetings, esteemed employees of PhaigeX.

The Management is delighted to announce that another milestone has been reached! There are now more upgrades to make your ships stronger! In addition, the aforementioned Ship Modifier Mechanic for the Ship Customization is added to this milestone, further reaching new heights with customizing one's preferred play style.

Here are the new upgrades, ready to be unlocked for purchase later at the Support Shop:

[WEAPON] Lightning Fence
Block out enemies with this electrified wall! Shoot out electric orbs that generate lightning fences in between. Best used for blocking drones from a certain direction. The electric orbs can be destroyed with enough damage, and without the orbs, the fence disappears way before it expires.

[WEAPON] Sonic Deflector
Let's return the enemies' fire, literally! Emit sonic blasts that destroys drones and deflect enemy projectiles. Careful timing is needed to make deflections work, so it is recommended to either boost its fire rate, or set the weapon to selective manual fire for better control.

[PASSIVE] Dispersal Chaff
Finally, an energy weapon countermeasure! When the ship is hit by an enemy's energy weapon, release a cloud of anti-energy chaff that blocks incoming energy beams and projectiles. That means the enemies' and your own energy beams and shots are blocked while the chaff is up.

[PASSIVE] Fallout Cloud
Make use of the destroyed enemies' remains! There is a chance to spawn a radioactive cloud when destroying enemy ships. The Fallout Cloud damages anything that passes through, so it's good for more area denial.

[PASSIVE] Burst Fever
A screen-clearing ability?! This powerful burst is triggered by reaching a certain enemy destroy count, so keep shooting down enemies in order to destroy some more.

Feel free to test out our new creations and help us collect combat data, feedback and suggestions are appreciated! With that, we can now take the next step and complete the Fleet Assault mode experience!

Towards a brighter future,

The PhaigeX MegaCorp.

ROADMAP: POWERUP PACK PROGRESS

Greetings to all PhaigeX employees.

Our busy people here at Development are still hard at work to deliver new content for the workplace. Research and development of new weapons and passives for the powerup pack are still progressing as scheduled. Please look forward to them at a future post, since the people here still need to test them on live battle scenarios.

For now, as part of the Powerup Pack Milestone, here is what we are currently working on.
CUSTOMIZE: SHIP MODIFIERS
Replacing the old "spend Warp Cores to randomize a stat" upgrade, is the Ship Modifiers system. These equippable modifiers upgrade the ship in a lot of ways. Modifiers (Mods for short) can change as simple as a ship's stats, or as complex as providing bonuses and benefits for playing a certain style.

Each ship has 3 Modifier Slots for the type of benefit it gives:
  • Offensive - bonuses to ship attacks
  • Defensive - bonuses to ship protection
  • Support- bonuses to either the Player Ship or Support Craft

These Mods can be acquired in two ways:

First, as a result of a Warp Call. Aside from acquiring dupe stat bonuses, there is also a warp call result that the dupe ship will instead, have a Modifier attached.

Second, as a reward for Ending a Run. When you finish a run (in a victory or defeat state), there is a chance of this reward screen to appear if you have a lot of unused Requisition Points (RP). Choose the one you can afford for the ship that you were piloting.

Once you acquired the Mod, it will be available at the Customize screen to be equipped only for one particular ship (the dupe ship in Warp Call, or the Player Ship used for that run). Mix and match ship modifiers to better suit your own play style!

The Ship Modifier system will be released as a part of the Powerup Pack Milestone. So, together with the new stuff, personalize your own ship, and work your way to victory!

Towards a brighter future,

The PhaigeX MegaCorp.

5/19/2022 PATCH NOTES

Greetings, PhaigeX employees!

This is a quick announcement for some immediate changes made to address some possible game-breaking issues. We thank you for reporting the issues to the management as soon as it was discovered.
Workspace Improvements
•
Complete Implementation of Mouse-Controlled Sight Line Aiming Mode
Using the Mouse in Sight Line aiming mode has now been made simpler. Moving the mouse horizontally to the right rotates the ship clockwise, and counter-clockwise when moved to the left. The mouse sensitivity can also be adjusted to fine-tune the amount of rotation per mouse movement.
  •
Space Background Adjustments
The moving space background elements has been toned down a bit, to lessen on-screen distractions while keeping the player's ship alive.
  •
Reworked Transportal
Compared to the previous "Duplicate ships has random stats that can be used to overwrite current stats", duplicate ships now provides a customized stat addition (or a small subtraction) to randomly selected ship stats. It's still up to the player to commit those changes to the current stats.
Resolved Issues
•
[Comet Dash] Level 3 steering bug using Mouse Sight Line
Together with the complete implementation of the mouse-controlled sight line, the steering controls of the Comet's SP Tech has been made compatible with the new aiming mode.
  •
[Fortress Shell] Level 5 effect stays even when armor is destroyed
Following the routine maintenance, the buffs brought by Fortress Shell now properly wears off when the armor gets destroyed.
  •
[Drone Assault] "Triple Click" Bug
A report has been received about pressing the Monarch's SP tech in quick succession can change the drones into a "floating active state" that can be exploitable in dealing contact damage to enemies. The drone units have been sent to Maintenance for repairs.
  •
[Afterimage] Critical Bug
A game-breaking issue has been reported that stops the game when Mirage's afterimages get hit by enemy fire. This issue had to be dealt with immediately.
Ongoing Plans
•
New Weapon Implementations
Rest assured that the plan stated on the roadmap is still in progress. We have some weapon concepts already under development, and will be forwarded to live testing.
  •
Complete Overhaul for Ship Customization
The Development Team went back to the drawing board and discussed possible ideas to improve ship customization, other than just for min-maxing stats. For now, keep those notifications enabled for breakthroughs in this field.

Rest assured that we are still on track in terms of the roadmap progress. It is inevitable that there are times that we must address the immediate dangers while working towards our goals.

Towards a brighter future,

The PhaigeX MegaCorp.
