Demo Competition Winners

[p]Hello. The demo competition is now over and the demo is no longer available/playable. Thank you to everyone that tried the game in the past 2 weeks. A total of 52 players posted their score on the leaderboard. It was fun watching from the sidelines the top scores go higher and higher as players learned the game and discovered new strategies. The battle for the first place was fierce and we had 3 names on the top spot in the last 24 hours! Here are the final top 10 scores:[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Congrats to samioh for the 1st place and winner of 25 EUR Steam Gift Card.[/p][p][/p][p]Top 10 players will all receive the full game key for Horde Hunters.[/p][p][/p][p]Additionally, there was a random draw for a 10 EUR Steam Gift Card between all participants. I ran a SQL query on the database and the random winner is Faquarl (also taking 9th place on the comp).[/p][p][/p][p]I will send a friend request on Steam to everyone above. Hello. This is a small patch with a new setting and leaderboard changes.

General
  • New setting: Hide hit numbers on low fps (Default: On)
  • Difficulty multiplier reduced a bit more when dropping health or damage below 100%
  • Added Belgium, Kazakhstan, Iceland and New Zealand flags to the leaderboard

Updated Demo with Prizes!

Hello. The demo for Horde Hunters is back! This is a special demo version where only the competition is playable. In this competition you play the Village map with the Bard character and try to beat others on the leaderboard. Typically these are a weekly thing but in this special demo version it lasts for 2 weeks and has great prizes up for grabs:

  • 1st place: 25 EUR Steam Gift Card
  • Places 1-10: Steam key for Horde Hunters full game
  • Bonus random draw to all demo participants: 10 EUR Steam Gift Card

This competition is not available to players that own the game and have participated in the competitions before (sorry). This is a promotional event for new players to the game so let's have them compete among themselves. This is an excellent time to invite your friends or favourite streamers to play the game!

You can download the demo from the main store page. In 2 weeks the demo will go offline and the winners will be published.

Hello. This update brings several controller fixes among a few other ones. I managed to also squeeze some much needed extra frames for late-game performance.

As you may have noticed this week doesn't have a weekly prize anymore. I'm halting the weekly competition prizes for the time being. It was a fun few weeks for sure although it very much ended up being a race between 2 players; JHG and blank. Congrats to you both for really min-maxing the game. In the meantime I've cooked up a special competition for a new demo version but more on that in a separate post.

General
  • Changed the end title when aborting a run
  • Controller: You can now hover disabled menu items in all buildings and pressing the cancel key should jump you to the "Done" button
  • Enemy spawn interval slightly increased on endless late-game
  • During elite challenge missions enemy spawn numbers reduced significantly
  • Gear screen will show synergy icons better for weapons and items
  • Some performance improvements. Also hit numbers are automatically toggled on/off at below or over 60fps
  • "Weekly" or "Weekly competition" is now simply named "Competition"
Bugs
  • Controller: Shop upgrades menu allowed left/right movement making the selection a bit wonky sometimes especially with the analog stick
  • Controller: Shop upgrades would sometimes skip a menu item when switching between the menus a lot
  • Controller: Power-ups would scroll when using the bottom menu buttons
  • Controller: Power-ups would sometimes get "lost" when switching between the menus a lot
  • Elite challenge missions had some issues still with elites running away scared for a long time while the mission area got smaller
  • Mining gets cancelled when using the spoon item
  • Bandit Camp, Library and Tower would play the event end/fail sound when not visible on screen anymore creating some confusion whether you failed a mission somewhere. The timers would also not properly reset if going off screen
  • Power-up buy button only showed the number of skulls needed when having enough to buy
  • Weapon penalties did not reset properly between runs

v. 1.1.1 - Hotfix

Hello. New changes to golden heart item meant the door was open for abuse so it got a nerf. I should have learned to put hard caps at everything by now. Additionally there's a bug fix for max health bonuses.

General
  • Golden Heart item gold amount will cap at 50. Health amount needed to gain gold will increase on each use as well
Bugs
  • Some max health bonuses did not keep and got reset when taking STR health bonus
