Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 News

Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 is cheaper than ever, just in time for more Year 2 content

Like the rip of a Chainsword, the brutal brilliance of Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 practically came out of nowhere. A sequel to the 2011 cult hit, it feels like a return to form for early 2010s console experiences, a non-stop action fest focused on putting the chaotic gameplay first, more than anything else. After becoming a huge success, Space Marine 2 is getting plenty of content in its second year, and right now, it's cheaper than ever - so there's no better time to get it.

January Community Update
Greetings Space Marines,
[p][/p][p]First and foremost, we would like to wish you all the best for the new year. We hope that 2026 will be another great year for gaming, and we look forward to bringing more content to Space Marine 2 and seeing players enjoy it. There’s still a lot to come in the upcoming months, bear with us! 💙[/p][p][/p][p]Speaking of updates, today, we’ve released a small hotfix (11.3) that brings compatibility with Microsoft Store versions. Also, Patch 12 - Techmarine Update is next! Let’s detail the content together.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
A RECAP OF PATCH 12’S CONTENT
[p]We’re targeting the end of February for the release. Stay tuned.[/p][p]
[/p]
SOME TECHMARINE NEWS ⚙️
[p]The wait is almost over! To make it more tolerable, we might give you as many details as we can about this new Class. A detailed Devblog was published a few days ago. If you missed it, read it now, right here![/p][p]And if you’re too lazy to read all the details, here’s a summary. 😉[/p][p]
[/p][p]What is this new Techmarine class like?[/p][p]Techmarines are specialists in crowd control and area defense. In melee, they’re able to take on large groups of enemies with their Omnissian Axe, and they also shine in mid-range combat thanks to their firearms arsenal.[/p][p][/p][p]The Techmarine’s Special Abilities reinforce this “area defense specialist” aspect. First, the Tarantula Sentry Gun. When a Techmarine is in the squad, Tarantula Sentry Guns spawn on the map and can only be activated by the Techmarine. Once activated, they will automatically shoot at nearby enemies, until they run out of ammo or are destroyed.[/p][p][/p][p]Secondly, your Special Ability is the Servo-Gun, which unleashes a powerful volley on enemies, and can be upgraded with the class perks.[/p][p][/p][p]The Techmarine class will be available in all PvE and PvP modes when Patch 12 drops, for free of course. No DLC or in-game purchases required.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Here’s a closer look at the Omnissian Axe, both for Loyalists and Chaos![/p][p][/p]
[p][/p]
[p][/p]
[p]Please note that the Techmarine is the only Class allowed to bear the Omnissian Axe[/p][p][/p][p]As some of you might have guessed, the Chaos counterpart to the Techmarine in PvP will be a Red Corsairs Warpsmith.
[/p]
NEW PVE MAP “DISRUPTION”
[p][/p][p]With Patch 12 will come a new PVE map named “Disruption”! 💥[/p][p][/p][p]Here’s the brief for your next mission:[/p][p]Combat Squad Veridian must reinforce a battalion of Cadians besieged by a Tyranid swarm, when an urgent missive from an Ecclesiarchy Priest alerts them to a Thousand Sons ritual profaning a nearby Cathedral. Both onslaughts must be disrupted to prevent a domino effect that will jeopardise concurrent operations elsewhere on Avarax.[/p][p][/p][p]And here’s how it looks![/p][carousel][/carousel][p]
[/p]
TWO NEW COSMETIC DLCs ARE COMING
[p][/p][p]Coming with Patch 12.0, 2 new cosmetic DLCs are on their way! This time, customise your experience with the Raven Guard Champion Pack and the Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack! 🦅🦈 [/p][p][/p][p]Raven Guard Champion Pack[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The Raven Guard Champion will be associated with the Assault class. Let’s see which elements will be compatible separately with other classes:[/p]
  • [p]Helm: Tactical / Assault / Vanguard / Bulwark / Sniper / Heavy[/p]
  • [p]Wargear: Tactical (tabard) / Sniper (cape)[/p]
  • [p]L. Pauldron: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark / Heavy [/p]
  • [p]R. Pauldron: Tactical / Assault / Vanguard / Bulwark / Sniper[/p]
  • [p]Chestplate: Tactical / Assault[/p]
  • [p]L. Gauntlet: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark[/p]
  • [p]R. Gauntlet: Tactical / Assault / Bulwark[/p]
  • [p]L. Greave: Tactical (without thrusters) / Assault / Bulwark (without thrusters) [/p]
  • [p]R. Greave: Tactical (without thrusters) / Assault / Bulwark (without thrusters)[/p]
  • [p]Backpack: Assault[/p]
[p]The Raven Guard Champion Pack also includes its Bolt Pistol skin.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack[/p][p][/p][p]The Carcharodons Cosmetic pack includes 2 Helms, 1 Left Pauldron, 1 Right Pauldron and 1 Chestplate.[/p][p]Unlike the other Cosmetic Packs, the Carcharodons Cosmetic Pack does not add a new Heraldry page to unlock the cosmetic items. Instead, the armour pieces will be automatically unlocked and added to your armour sets once you purchase the pack.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
WHAT’S MORE?
[p][/p][p]That's not all, the Techmarine Update also brings:[/p]
  • [p]20 new modifiers for the Stratagems mode[/p]
  • [p]You can now swap the different Space Marine heads (for example, you can use the "Assault" default head on the Sniper)[/p]
  • [p]A new equipment has been added: the Restorative Stimms. It takes the slot of your Medicae Stimms, and it will provide a different way to heal your Space Marine's wounds: instead of "burst" of heal, it will regenerate your HP overtime, and also generate contested health (up to 100% of your missing HP, which means you effectively can regen all of your missing HP when used correctly)[/p]
  • [p]3 new Heroic Weapon variants for the Combat Knife (Fencing), the Heavy Bolt Rifle (Combi Grenade Launcher) and the Omnissian Axe (Fencing). Although the three Heroic Weapons were not part of the initial plan, we were so encouraged by your enthusiasm that we chose to add them to our roadmap.

Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 releases four trailers to show off the new Techmarine, and all my dreams have come true

We Iron Hands players don't ask for a lot. Honestly, acknowledgement that we exist is usually enough. I'm incredibly jealous of the new Iron Warriors Warsmith that Games Workshop just revealed for the tabletop game, but Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 developer Focus Entertainment has come through at the perfect time to put a stop to any heretical thoughts and bring me back to the light of the Omnissiah. I mean, Emperor... Yes, it has finally unveiled the Techmarine class, and released four trailers showing off its abilities - and they're better than I ever could have imagined.

Techmarine Gameplay Breakdown
Greetings Space Marines!
[p][/p][p]In today’s blog, we’ll give you a complete presentation of the upcoming new class, the Techmarine![/p][p]
[/p]
Playstyle
[p]The Techmarine is a specialist in crowd control and zoning. His arsenal can hold off both crowds of enemies and individual dangerous opponents while his allies safely deal damage. Gameplay-wise, the Techmarine is a mixed class with a slight melee bias. Unlike the Bulwark, who also keeps enemies away from attacking classes, the Techmarine is more focused on pressuring enemies with wide AoE melee attacks and mid-range firearms.
[/p]
Abilities
[p]His special ability, the Servo-Gun, unleashes a powerful volley on nearby enemies. Additionally, the Techmarine can detect and activate Tarantula Sentry Guns on the levels. They will attack enemies until they run out of ammo or are destroyed.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]
A unique characteristic of the Techmarine is the integration of the Servo-Gun during Gun Strikes. This allows for greater movement freedom compared to other classes during these actions, for instance you can perform melee attacks while using a Gun Strike.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Arsenal
[p]The Techmarine can use the following weapons: [/p][p][/p][p]Primary Weapons:[/p]
  • [p]Auto Bolt Rifle[/p]
  • [p]Bolt Rifle[/p]
  • [p]Heavy Bolt Rifle[/p]
  • [p]Occulus Bolt Carbine[/p]
  • [p]Plasma Incinerator
    [/p]
[p]Secondary Weapons:[/p]
  • [p]Bolt Pistol[/p]
  • [p]Heavy Bolt Pistol[/p]
  • [p]Plasma Pistol[/p]
  • [p]Inferno Pistol[/p]
  • [p]Neo-Volkite Pistol[/p]
[p][/p][p]Melee Weapons:[/p]
  • [p]Combat Knife[/p]
  • [p]Power Sword[/p]
  • [p]Power Axe[/p]
  • [p]Omnissian Axe
    [/p]
[p]As you can see, the Techmarine’s unique array of weapons includes the standout Omnissian Axe. This new melee weapon is exclusive to the Techmarine, and it’s perfect for handling multiple smaller enemies simultaneously due to its wide AoE attacks. It also has a special move, the “Omnissian Rush”, which makes the Techmarine rush forward, impaling the enemies.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p]
Perks
[p]We thought that you might be interested to know the perks the Techmarine will have. You can check out this short video and pause to read all the perks effects, but keep in mind that some values can still change until the release of Patch 12.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]
That’s it for our Techmarine blog! We hope it gave you a complete overview of this new class, and that you’re excited to test it when Patch 12 releases! [/p][p][/p][p]- The Emperor protects[/p][p]
