SHUFFLE TACTICS: PATCH 1.1.1

[p]Greeting, Legends of Asteria![/p][p][/p][p]We're back with another patch to fix the following issues:[/p][p][/p][p]BALANCING[/p]
  • [p]Corrupted rifts: they now spawn enemies every 3 turns (vs 2 before). They can no longer have more than 4 active enemies at any given time (meaning that if 2 spawned enemies are alive, this rift won’t spawn more than 2 more).[/p]
  • [p]Spawned enemies do not act until their next turn (this affects corrupted rift, reinforcement enemies, ghouls, and enemies summoned by bosses).[/p]
  • [p]The Immobilized debuff no longer prevents you from playing movement cards, only from moving using Move Points.[/p]
  • [p]Wanderer boss: less HP, less movement, no more Last Stand buff, less overall damage, no more thorns buff, weaker armor buff, and drastically reduced parrying damage[/p]
  • [p]Augury Glimmerfolk boss: Less HP, less damage, weaker armor buff[/p]
  • [p]Boxbird boss: Less HP, no more dense buff, no more permanent stun resistance, less damage[/p]
  • [p]Broodmother boss: Less HP, less movement, less damage, improved buff[/p]
  • [p]Infant King boss: Less egg HP, less overall HP, less hatch armor, less damage[/p]
  • [p]Riders bosses: Less HP, fewer movement points, less damage, fewer spider web spawns, weaker overall[/p]
  • [p]King Ogma boss: Less HP in all phases, less resistance, less damage[/p]
  • [p]Deluge, Snarl, and Capital enemies: reduced move points across the board to make them less mobile, reduced damage across the board as well[/p]
  • [p]Added more base HP to Fletch (25 -> 40) and Catalina (20 -> 35)[/p]
  • [p]Fletch’s Toolbox is now free to use (instead of costing 1 MP)[/p]
  • [p]Increased the base HP of all sidekicks across the board to make them survive more, especially at lower levels.[/p]
[p][/p][p]UI[/p]
  • [p]The cancel last move button has been moved to be more visible[/p]
  • [p]Added a tooltip for the Catch card keyword[/p]
  • [p]Reduced the attraction effect on Inventory charms to make them easier to target[/p]
  • [p]The “press F2 to provide feedback” text no longer wraps and overlaps the objective[/p]
[p][/p][p]QUALITY OF LIFE[/p]
  • [p]A delay has been added after opening a relics booster and a charms booster, to prevent misclicks.[/p]
  • [p]The Wild Heal card can now target self[/p]
  • [p]Removed colliders from the spider webs in the Infant King’s arena to avoid them blocking projectiles[/p]
  • [p]Many improvements to the camera movement and the tactical camera switch and movement, to make them feel smoother and reduce the occurrences of jarring movement[/p]
  • [p]Greatly improved the enemies’ intent previsualisation. The range shown on the ground should now properly reflect the enemy’s movement range (including possible jumps), as well as their attack range. Direct ranged attacks properly account for covers in the preview, and for bosses, the range will also account for their current attacks and movements cooldowns. Note: This treatment has not been applied to the last three bosses yet and will be done very soon.[/p]
  • [p]Distinguished the movement range from the attack range when previewing an enemy’s range.
    [/p]
[p]BUGFIXES[/p]
  • [p]The tactical camera no longer triggers when pressing the left direction on the left joystick. Clicking the left joystick will trigger it.[/p]
  • [p]You can no longer double-click a charm in the charm reward screen to grab it twice[/p]
  • [p]Hovering a relic in the relic reward screen no longer shows its description as a duplicated tooltip[/p]
  • [p]Added Heavy buff to Fletch’s barricades[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a critical bug that would make saves become corrupted and make players lose their progress when exiting the game from inside a combat.[/p]
  • [p]Improved the graceful recovery mechanism when a combat action causes an error, which fixes a case where failing to spawn a Tribal Tomb would softlock the fight[/p]
  • [p]You can no longer switch units during the enemy’s turn by pressing shift and tab[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Fading keyword which was not working[/p]
  • [p]Hide the “cancel last move” button while using a card[/p]
  • [p]Removed the roof of the Infant King’s arena that would block the tactical camera view[/p]
  • [p]Prevents from switching to tactical view during enemies’ turn and reset camera when the enemy’s turn begins[/p]
  • [p]Re-enabled middle mouse button to move the camera[/p]
  • [p]Fix the Overgrown Limb relic that would trigger all the time[/p]
  • [p]Fix the Fletch’s Trap debuff which should increase Fletch’s damage against his defenses[/p]
  • [p]Glimmering Glyph now properly gives one power per buff, as stated in its tooltip[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the carpet in the King Ogma’s Throne room that would clip ground markers[/p]

  • [p]Added the missing translation of 2 extra options in the settings[/p]
  • [p]Fix the Pain debuff translation in French[/p]

  • [p]Fixed: Spirit Tombs have several issues when an enemy performs a lunge attack towards them.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: The new skill card does not appear in the hero selection screen[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Enemy turn doesn't end when an Abscess explodes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: The game softlock after playing the Black Hole card when Amulet of Far-Seeing relic equipped[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: The "Add to your Wishlist" button is present in full game version [/p]
  • [p]Fixed: The card Icicle remains on the screen[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: Proceeding to The Card Trader (Bubble) may trigger a progression blocker[/p]
  • [p]Fixed: A softlock can be triggered with the Chantry's ''Use'' prompt as the Battle ends[/p]

Shuffle Tactics (PC) Review


Jumping into Shuffle Tactics had me considering the genre as a whole. When you think of deckbuilding roguelikes that utilize branching map navigation between shops, minor encounters, and elite encounters, all culminating with a boss battle before moving onto another map, quite a few games come to mind. Honestly, ever since Slay the Spire came out back in 2017, it feels like a third of all games have aped that exact formula with some tweaks, to varied success. If you want Slay the Spire meets Peggle, there’s Peglin. For Slay the Spire meets Mega Man Battle Network, there’s One Step from Eden, and now, if you want Slay the Spire meets Final Fantasy Tactics, there’s Shuffle Tactics.





None of that should be taken as an insult, mind you. Shuffle Tactics takes some well-worn mechanics, shines them up, and executes them in fun and interesting ways. If you’re curious about Shuffle Tactics and don’t want to wait until June 24 to experience the game, we have a brand-new demo for you to jump into, featuring Fletch, our third playable hero!

What can I expect from this new Demo, you may ask?

Well, get ready for:

⚔️Two distinctly powerful playable characters, each with their unique abilities:
- The Doberknight, a sword-hurling powerhouse that can kick foes into optimal positions and spread fire to surrounding tiles or foes alike.
- (NEW) Fletch, a defense-oriented character who fortifies structures to shield his allies on the battlefield.
🤝 Five total sidekicks, including 2 brand-new ones, each with different abilities to support you in battle
