Animal & Hunting Update

Hello Lords and Ladies!

We're excited to announce the release of our Animal & Hunting Update for RivenWorld! We've been working on this for the past month and are so excited to get your feedback on the newly added animals in the world.

Aggresive Animals


Bear - Spawn near points of interest around the world, they do not like to travel to far away from there location, so if aggroed, they will lose interest quicker.
Boar - Very aggressive and territorial animals that spawn in forested areas around the world. If aggroed they will chase you for a longer distance.

Passive Animals


Deer - Spawn randomly around the map and are a great source of food and leather.
Doe - Spawn randomly around the map and are a great source of food and leather.
Rabbit - Spawn randomly around the map and are a great source of food and leather.

Leather & Leather Working


Gather hide from animals by using a sword, once you have the hide you can dry it in our new drying station.

Bow & Fletcher Station


Find bird nests around the world, and collect feathers. These feathers can be used to craft arrows to use with your bow.

New Combat System


We removed the old combat system and added a new combat system that has combos & heavy attacks. We're hoping this will help combat play better without the need to select a different attack angle.

New Throne & King Area


After watching how players played as King within RivenWorld we decided to remove the pre-fab castle and allow players to build their castle and keep. Once you claim the throne, you can build your own castle on top of the king's mountain. This will play into a future update for siege equipment and dark-age machines.

New Movement & Animations

We've overhauled the animation system to improve all our movement, combat and other animations found in RivenWorld.

What is next?

We plan on working on aggressive mobs at night and a farming system for crops and plants. We aim to have mobs and farming in RivenWorld before the end of June. We believe adding mobs and agriculture will significantly enhance the gameplay of RivenWorld and help add more immersion to the world we're creating.

World Update, Resources, and Bug Fixes

Hello Lords and Ladies!

We're now T-Plus 6 Days since our Early Access Release on Steam and whoo it was a roller coaster. After EA release last Friday we got a influx of players that led to server issues, causing crashes and disruptions, after pulling an all nighter Friday and Saturday we released minor patch 1.01a, and then later that week another minor patch 1.01b to address bugs and glitches within our server software.

We're proud to announce our first major update, v1.02 of RivenWorld! This update address a lot of things within the world, and will add additional areas to explore and journey into.

New World Design


With this new map we've added 2 additional lakes, 1 river and a different resource node distribution to encourage exploration and adventure through the world.

The map has also been overhauled, and we've added a road system to help players navigate the world!

Night Lighting Improvement


Along with the world update, we've added 2 new light sources, and made the night time a bit brighter so everyone can see!

Bed Respawn System

Craft a bed and simply press your [q] key to bind your soul to the bed. As long as the bed is not destroyed you will respawn at your bed location when you die.

EA 1.01

We've been hard at work since launch to release our first patch aimed to make the game more stable and fix bugs that have been reported to us. Below are the patch notes for the update.

This update requires a client update on steam.

Added:
Stations/ Objects
+ Water Well Station: This will generate passive water every few minutes that can be collected using an empty bucket
+ Rain Water Station: This will generate passive water during rain in-game
+ Respawn Bed: Respawn at your bed now, simply go to the bed and use your Q menu to select to make the bed your respawn location

Commands:
+ /stuck to respawn if you are stuck
+ /g for guild chat

Controls:
+ ESC to exit from Game Menu
+ ESC/TAB to exit from inventories and GUIs in-game

Bug Fixes:
~ Spawning in the water
~ Player editor deletes your character preview if you change weight before the height
~ Resource nodes are now respawning correctly
~ Changed river volume to use Ambient Sounds
~ Fixed the King's chest from despawning

Releasing April 14th!

Hello Lords and Ladies,

Over this past weekend, we hosted an open beta to help test RivenWorld and iron out the last bugs before release. We saw some fantastic gameplay during the open beta and are happy to announce the release date for RivenWorld into Steam Early Access!



That's right! We're releasing on April 14th, 2023 @ 2pm CST (GMT-5).

Please help us spread the word about the release, and we look forward to seeing you all in RivenWorld on release weekend!
