Development Update #4 - Backend Upgrades
Hello,
I hope everyone has had a great start to the year. I said Wyoming Winter v1.13 would be out some time in February however I have decided to put a lot more effort into refactoring this update.
I am upgrading the Unity version Wyoming Winter uses from 2022 to Unity 6 LTS. This will bring Wyoming Winter's back end up to date with the newest Unity features and hopefully allow for some cool things to be done as well as allowing me to utilize new multiplayer development tools.
I am also fundamentally chaning the way the game is structured as the current structure is getting messy and convoluted due to lack of forwards thinking early on in the game's development life where I thought I'd be working on it for no more than 6 months.
This restructure is going to take time but will result in absoloutely massive productivity gains and speed ups in development. It will also hopefully allow for custom maps to be added a lot easier when I get round to that.
Please hold out for a bit longer on this update. I can promise it's worth it.
Cheers,
ValleyHound
