Regular Update v0.2.40

Hello all! In this update I added perks to reduce or increase liquid spawns and to decrease the Pump's Timer. Requires a bit more testing, so if you run into any issues please let us know!

Patch Notes
Perk Book
• Numerical values are now formatted.
Floor Perks
• Added Floor Pump Timer perk. This is a floor specific perk to decrease the Pump's timer. To increase this multiplier it costs Floor Points.
Area Perks
• Added Increase Liquid and Liquid Tiles spawn chance. This perk allows you to increase water and lava to spawn faster, if you choose to increase those spawn rates. (Perk Book perk)
  • Added Decrease Liquid and Liquid Tiles spawn chance. This perk allows you to decrease other liquid tile (dirt, mud, etc) spawns that way water and lava can spawn more frequent. (Perk Book perk)
Fixes
• Fixed an error with Teleporting items.
  • Fixed an issue that caused incorrect slots to refresh in the Perk Book for all tabs.
  • Fixed an issue that caused input data in slots to refresh in the Perk Book for all tabs.

Dwarf Weekend News #6

Hope everyone is enjoying their holiday off and relaxing - I know I am! Welcome to more news about Dwarves Mining Idle. In this news update I'll be going over what we're currently working on and a small delay with the update that's supposed to come with Pipes & Pumps update.

Before I get started, please join our Discord for quick updates, help and more!

Short Delay

Pipes & Pumps perks where you can decrease the timer it takes to pump liquid will have a short delay. With the holidays and being busy it's taken all of my time. I was thinking of coming up with the timer increases based on how many pipes there are, but make the timer decrease perk worth putting points in to. With Archaeology coming there will be some major changes with helping Dwarves do their business.

Next Major Update: Archaeology

I'm currently writing the concept of Archaeology. After that, it will come to the artwork stage and as the artwork is being created I'll work on implementation. Here's a sneak peek of the concept and how Archaeology will work.
Archaeology Concept
Archaeology Book will be new. There will be a certain amount of sets to complete. These sets can be repeated once completed, but yield slightly better rewards each time. Kind of like a prestige. Each set will have fragments and these fragments allow you to complete an item within a set as progression. After a set is completed you will receive the necessary reward.
Archaeology is in pieces: On-Going Sets will have 4 complete Sets and Permanent Sets will have 4 complete Sets.
Archaeology: Gnome Set Sneak Peek

About
Gnomes once swarmed the Dwarven lands. Gnomes were a very popular race, but they were never heard from again.

Gnome Set 0/6

New items: Gnome Bone Fragment and Gnome Engineer Fragment

  • Gnome Skull
    Required Fragments: 0/50
  • Gnome Finger Bone
    Required Fragments: 0/10
  • Gnome Rib Bone
    Required Fragments: 0/15
  • Gnome Tooth
    Required Fragments: 0/5
  • Gnome Mechanism
    Required Fragments: 0/30
  • Gnome Wrench
    Required Fragments: 0/80
Completion Rewards
• Slightly reduces time it takes for Pump to pump liquid.
  • Reduces the Pump's liquid check cost.
  • (On-Going): After #2 is completed it will go back to 1 on the next completion, repeating the cycle.
On-Going completion explanation
For example, if I completed the set twice, it will then repeat itself. The third reward will be #1, fourth will be #2, fifth will be #1, etc. This basically makes Archaeology constant and a set CAN be completed, but it's always on-going.

What's Next?

Archaeology is going to take a bit, but that was a nice little sneak peek of how it's going to work! There's more, but announcing it all now will take the surprise away. After Archaeology, we're really caught up in the roadmap. I didn't expect to get to The Surface update until some time next year, but we're zooming through! Once Archaeology is completed I'll be polishing up the game further, coming up with different ways in making certain features better and probably changing some things slightly before The Surface is started.

Thank you everyone that has played Dwarves Mining Idle. Please don't be afraid to join our Discord. We absolutely love feedback, constructive criticism and most importantly bug reports!

See you all soon and Happy Holidays!

Pipes and Pumps Update v0.2.30

A lot of things have changed with this update. The gist of it is you no longer receive the filled water/lava bottles from digging. You now receive the liquid. You'll then have to go through the process to create empty bottles and fill them in a Pump.

Before Patch Notes

This update did not come with the perk to make Pumping faster. I'm still working on the concept of everything. Next week (hopefully) I'll have an idea on how to implement it properly. I will also include perks to change liquid spawn rates on floor resets.
Patch Notes

Achievements
• You can now earn All Bottled Up.
  • You can now earn Plumbers Crack.
Materials
• Added new material type: Gathered Water and Gathered Lava.
  • Renamed Water to Filled Water Bottle.
  • Renamed Lava to Filled Lava Bottle.
  • Changed the description for Filled Water Bottle and Filled Lava Bottle to match its current existence in the game.
Perks
• Unlock Digging perk cost has been reduced from 3000 Dirt cost to 30 Dirt cost.
AI

Dwarf
• Digging Water now yields Gathered Water instead of Bottled Water
  • Digging Lava now yields Gathered Lava instead of Bottled Lava
Placeables
• Added new placeable called Pump. Pumps will be able to pump a liquid source if it can find a liquid source.

  • Added new placeable called Bottler. Bottler will use sand to create empty bottles used to be filled in a pump.

  • Updated Recipes for Furnace.

  • Timer will show above the Pump just like the Dwarf Dig.
Recipes
• Added new Recipe (Pump): Fill Water Bottle.
  • Added new Recipe (Pump): Fill Lava Bottle.
  • Added new Recipe (Bottler): Empty Bottle.
  • Added new Recipe (Furnace): Glass.
Fixes

UI
• Fixed Materials not updating properly when you have the Dwarven Book open and a placeable is creating new materials.
Alerts
• Fixed alert when sending a dwarf to another floor it wouldn't use their name in the alert message.
Placeables
• Fixed when destroying a placeable the tile data isn't wiped.
  • Fixed Fusion Machine returning output items back after changing recipes.

What's Next?

After the rest of the Pipes & Pumps perk implementation there most likely won't be big updates for a month. We're going to be working on the next thing on the roadmap and that's Archaeology. The artist will have to create all the new artwork for Archaeology and it's going to take some time. HOWEVER, there will be small updates still changing certain things within the game to make certain features or mechanics better.

Dwarf Weekend News #5

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another Dwarf weekend update. I'm going to be going over what's new, what to expect and what has been going on.

Full Disclosure: Lately, I've been quite busy working on a home gym, putting it all together and getting everything sorted for myself in this big investment. It's currently all finished, but during this time I was working on the game on and off. I'd love to get the new update out and ready by next week if I can, I'll let you guys know if there's going to be any delays.

What's New

Store page video and screenshots have been updated. With our constant quality of life changes we had planned to update the screenshots when majority of the QOL updates were finished, and we did!
Placeables
Right now you're only getting the easy way with Dwarves to keep your progression on-going until the appropriate mechanics are implemented. There's a process we had planned for Water and Lava items and it's currently being worked on.
Placeable Pump
The pump will check for liquids (work in progress). It's a small process that will cost X Copper Ingots depending on how far the pump is from liquid sources. SO, a little hint before it's fully implemented: Put your pump closer to liquid sources!

  • Empty bottles can be placed in a pump to fill it with water or lava if you have enough liquid to fill.
  • One pump per floor.
  • There will be a perk for the pumping timer to reduce the time it takes to pump.
  • Liquids are already implemented but if you've never seen any that's because they are quite rare. However, they start spawning around area 75+.
Placeable Bottler
Using Sand, the Bottler can create empty bottles. These bottles can be filled up with water or lava in a pump.
New Liquid Materials
• Water
  • Lava

A BIG THANK YOU

Thank you for trying out Dwarves Mining Idle and supporting us! We find it very important to keep everybody informed of our development journey and we take it very serious. I do have some slight wisdom to share: If you try out Dwarves Mining Idle and you see or run into an issue, please join our discord and talk with us to get it sorted out. I'd hate for users to refund when certain issues can be fixed when we all help each other build an amazing game. Don't forget in-game you can go to Settings and click Backup Save button to back your save up. That gives you a chance to revert saves if something happens, and report what happened to us and we'll get it fixed!

That being said, I will be adding a bit more information to the game, disclosures, etc., so everybody knows how our game fully works. I've been touch and go with the guide as the focus has been on new content (bug fixes first), and I do apologize.
