Voice of Belldona 0.32.2 Update

Hi, everyone.
Today we're going to talk about what we've done to update Voice of Belldona in the meantime!
In this update, we've made the following fixes and optimizations:

-Combat Scene Adjustment
-Beginner's tutorial now has a new NPC (you can guess who she is in the story mode).
-Adjusted Griza's Ally Summoning.
-Revamped the Source Nexus
-Campsite revamped
-New Encyclopedia
-Story Mode adjustments/new characters
-Modified the position of the card information display.
-Traveling merchants adjusted
-Card effect revisions and tweaks
-Enemy/Friendly changes
-Various difficulty improvements / optimizations

1. Combat Scene Adjustment
In the current combat scene, with the growing number of characters and statuses, the scene has become very crowded.
Therefore, we have adjusted the size of the characters to make them more proportional to each other and to make the overall look more comfortable.
The UI has also been adjusted to make it cleaner, so that the player only needs to focus on controlling the lower half of the screen.

2. The language used in the previous beginner's tutorials was really unpleasant.
In this revision, we have added a corresponding narrator to increase the sense of immersion.
As for who is this previous bad-talking narrator?
Please dig into the story mode and discover for yourselves.

3. Griza currently has too little freedom in the way it plays with summons.
We will adjust the summoning cost of the units to address this issue.
The adjustments are as follows:
Forge of the initial blessing is increased from 2 → 7.
Forge required for Griza's summoning from 1~2 → 2~6
Forge obtained from cards from 1 → 1~3
For Griza's Summons, we've increased the number of adjustments.
We have increased the amount of Forge needed to strengthen the unit.
We have also adjusted the amount of Forge that can be obtained from cards.
In short, we've adjusted the numbers to make Griza's summoning gameplay more flexible.

4. The previous version of Source Nexus was unsatisfactory in many features and interactions.
One of the main points of this update is the complete reworking of Source Nexus.
The major changes are as follows
The interface for adding Summons to your team is now more comprehensive.
The interface for purchasing Crystal has been redesigned, and instead of purchasing a fixed amount of Crystals, you can obtain Crystals by consuming sources for a limited number.

5. The campsite has changed from a simple function selection to a more immersive and interactive interface.

6. Players can now select Encyclopedia options in the title to find all cards and enchantments currently available in the Voice of Belldona Demo.

7. A new mysterious character that appears in the main story mode.
What is the relationship between this mysterious character and Sheryl?

8. Adjusted the location of dialog options/card information.
Instead of appearing in strange places every time, they will now appear in a fixed place.
Also, the conversation option's message will no longer block the name of the character.

9. The Traveling Merchant has been modified as follows
The price of tips has been changed from 50 to 20
(The original tip was so expensive that no one would want to use it, and it completely lost its meaning.)
NPC's lines and animations have been added to make them more vivid.
You can no longer refresh cards by reloading the save.

10. Adjustments and functionality fixes for cards Griza.

In addition to adjusting the cost of summons, we have also adjusted the roles of some summoning that are mainly used as tanks.
Killian's Shield is very easy to become an impenetrable wall in the late-game, even in the first map early on, so we've slightly weakened the growth of its tankiness in the late-game.
Rinna's shield has an overstated ability to withstand damage in the early stages (Perseverance 2, Permanent Damage Reduction), and Rinna's summons, unlike Griza's one-time summons, can be summoned repeatedly on the battlefield, which results in Rinna's battle screen being filled with shields.
On the other hand, the exaggerated tankiness of shield is also far more effective than other summons. Therefore, we have significantly weakened the tankiness of shield in the early stage, but we have not adjusted the shield too much in the late game, so players who like to have a reliable shield will still be able to choose shield as their main upgrade summon.

12. Enemies Captain (Sophia)
New Passive
Iai Stance - Once per turn, gain Block(3) and Strength(1) after taking damage.

13. Other improvements / optimizations
  • Rinna's card class will no longer have "Command", but will now have its own class, "Carnage".
  • When Rinna is selected as the playing character, the Traveling Merchant's Tip option will no longer appear as "Orders", but rather as "Carnage".
  • You will receive an additional supply's bonus after winning an Elite Battle.
  • The rate of consuming supplies when moving between locations on the map has been changed from 90% to 75%.
  • System alerts will now be displayed at the start of the game for outdated versions of the game save.
  • The player's system settings (volume/display...) are now saved.
  • Adjusted for ultrawide screen, so that strange UI and screen misalignment will no longer occur.
  • Fixed various game jamming bugs

Story Mode is online!

The second major update of Voice of Belldona demo is here!

In this update, the "Story Mode" is back online, with the participation of the popular Taiwanese author "Guiltnovel", added stories full of laughs and excitement, and the mysterious reptoids nun (?), who claims to be a once-in-a-millennium beauty, are going to reveal to everyone.

In addition to the new mode, many experience optimizations and game balancing improvements have been made, so let's take a look at the contents of this update.

  • New NPCs have been officially unveiled.
  • Completely remastered story mode.
  • A complete overhaul of the in game store.
  • Various gameplay experience optimizations and balances.

Nun (?)

I'm just a once-in-a-century, innocent and seductive forever young lizard girl, Rawr!

A new mysterious NPC - Nun(?).
A strange character who always speaks in a variety of “seductive” words and phrases.
Players will encounter this mysterious NPC, who calls herself "Mysterious Lizard Girl", on their journey.
But she seems to be helping the protagonists intentionally or unintentionally...

Story Mode

After choosing to start a new game, players can choose between Story Mode and Challenge Mode to play the game in their favorite way.

In Story Mode, players will be able to experience the full story and plot of Voice of Belldona.

Try your hand at the various options and you may find a variety of unexpected results waiting for you.

Let's turn back here, we should try to do less dangerous things, don't you think it's good to live a relaxing life?

Traveling Merchants

When you happen to come across a strange store on your journey, go inside and you will see a tiny and adorable robot greeting you, it might be a good choice to trade items with him.

Speaking of which, why is there a store in the middle of the nowhere...?

Balancing and Changes

Players will now be alerted to the end of each map's story, with an additional icon reminding them to prepare for the end of each chapter.

Lots of players have complained that they are entering boss fights all of a sudden, but now they can prepare for them in advance!

Players can now hover over side quest’s options to see exactly what they are rewarded for.

Rinna's Sanity System

Changed from "Every time a combo was used, +3 Sanity " to "Every time a combo was used, +2 Sanity, +4 Sanity per combo derivative".
Since the Sanity of a Combo Build is still continuing to decrease during a fight, we've adjusted Rina's ways of obtaining Sanity.
We've increased the number of methods to gain Sanity, so that Combo Builds can accumulate Sanity faster while using combo derivation.
At the same time, we have slightly lowered the effect of the normal Sanity boost when acquiring finishing moves and increase the flexibility of Carnage Builds in terms of Sanity.

Bug Fixes

-Bleed and burn debuff now trigger normally.
- "Choose 1 ally: Lose HP" is now no longer affected by player’s strength or the chosen ally's reflect/counter.
(Griza will now finally not die from Killian's counter)
-Rina's Bloodforged Weapon will now display its effects properly in battle.
(A lot of people thought the Bloodforged weapons were all useless, but now players will know their effects properly.)
-Fixed the dialog display anomaly in Cheryl scenes.
-Fixed resolution switch icon display error.
-Fixed Rinna's preset deck text error.
-Fixed a bug in the buff icon when Emily spawns.
-Fixed the bug that the "Continue Game" option would appear even after finish the demo.
-Fixed a bug where the game might freeze at the end of the round.
(Please let us know if there are any more similar cases.)

Other Adjustments

-Adjusted the action icon
-Fixed Chery;'s English text
-The information of allay cards in battle now will only show card art.
-Block is now shown on the right side of the HP.

That's all for this update, if there is anything you would like to let us know, please feel free to do so through the questionnaire or by joining the community!

0.3.1 DEMO UPDATE

Hi everyone.
We've received a lot of great feedback since the release of the overhaul.

Let's take a look at the changes we've made to the current version ahead of the Steam New Game Festival and the 10th of Oct holiday!

  • Fixes, QoL and Optimizations

Bug fixes for the bald traveler's quest script and the inability to get the quest finish reward.
(Now he'll “hand” out the stuff properly.)

Card "Desire" generated by casting finisher "Desperate Desire" will now properly add to the draw pile as described, instead of straight to the hand.

Now, card "Hunt" will also trigger additional damage bonus to units effected by "Target Revealed."

Fixed the bald traveler's event where the battle could not be fought properly.
(One of the main reasons why Rinna's two Legendary Cards could not be obtained.)

Corrected the position of the black outline in map tutorial.

Combo cards generated by Rinna's Blood-Red Weapon will now display a combo prompt.

Rinna's Finisher button now displays effects.

Card "Valkyrie's Vals” now correctly triggers the elimination effect.

Fixed the problem that the card "Desire" sometimes got stuck on the right side of the screen.

Combo cards now have icons, so you can visualize the effect of a combo.

Renovation and revision of the English translation.

  • Game Balance
Rinna's sanity system upper and lower limits have changed to +-90.
(Increasing the upper and lower limits of sanity not only makes it easier for the player to reach the upper and lower limits of sanity in one battle, but also increases the player's room for maneuver, such as no longer make your time maintaining low sanity at 3rd stage go to waste just because you used a finisher once.)
Rinna's sanity system changes +-15, +-45, +-75 in each of the three stages.
Rinna's Sanity System's Low Sanity 2nd level effect is now no longer has “Deadly”.
(Deadly's effect is so powerful that we've redefined it as a powerful finishing move, and if it's a permanent effect, Rinna is able to easily resolve all enemies with basically no draws)
Finisher "Seal"
Removed “Void” Effect
(Now you can keep it in your hand and play it when you need it.)
Finishing move "Demonic Majesty”
The additional deadly(5) of "Carnage" effect becomes deadly(1).
Card "Eruption of Rage”S
Added “Elimination” Effect
Card " Slaughter Aura "
Reduces the number of "Deadly” stacks gained
Card "Ymir's Avatar: Assimilation".
Sanity Requirement changed to -75
Card "Valkyrie's Vals”
Sanity requirement changes to +75
-Reduces the amount of supplies you get after winning a battle.
(It's a bit too much to be able to wander through the whole map and become Financial independence.)
