What makes Loaders different?

[p]Hello everyone,
[/p][p]We’ve been working on Loaders for quite a while now, and as we start showing the game, there’s one question that keeps coming up:  "What sets Loaders apart from other multiplayer shooters?"[/p][p]So here’s our answer, simple and honest :)
[/p][p]A battlefield you can break[/p][p]Loaders was built from the ground up with one big idea in mind: a destructible terrain.[/p][p]No more hiding forever behind invincible walls. Covers are temporary. You can reshape the battlefield to your advantage, open a new path behind enemy lines, isolate a group by cutting off their escape… It’s all up to you.[/p][p]This system changes how you think about movement, positioning, and teamwork. And that’s exactly what we wanted.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Team tactics over twitch reflexes[/p][p]Loaders isn’t a run-and-gun shooter. By changing the pace with slower travel time and higher Time to Kill than most shooter games, we enable teamplay to be more important than just pure skill-based
[/p][p]Of course, good aim still matters (it’s a shooter after all), but pure skill isn’t enough. Tactical thinking and coordination are just as important, maybe even more.
[/p][p]Modules & Splitters: tools to shift the tide[/p][p]To deepen the gameplay, we added two extra layers:[/p]
  • [p]Modules: You have passive and active modules. Passive ones will offer stat boosts, while active modules are powers you can use a few times during battle (they have a cooldown).[/p]
  • [p]Splitters: energy boost that pumps up one of 4 specific stats, enabling you to be more effective in either shooting, moving, recovering, or getting your modules ready sooner. Splitters can be changed on the fly during gameplay.[/p]
[p]Don’t forget that Loaders have a limit to what they can equip, so every choice matters!
[/p][p]Shields that make positioning matter[/p][p]Your Loader is protected by multiple directional energy shields. When one breaks, you’re exposed on that side but you can turn your Loader to protect your weak spot again.[/p][p]It’s a simple system, but it adds depth to how you move and fight. What is Loaders?

[p]Hi there![/p][p]
We’re a small but dedicated team working on Loaders, a free-to-play tactical multiplayer shooter and we wanted to take a moment to explain what that actually means.[/p][p]
Let’s break it down together!
[/p][p][/p][p]Free-to-play and multiplayer[/p][p]That part is easy: Loaders won’t cost anything to download or play, and every match is played with other players. There is no solo mode. Just you, your team, and the enemy team.[/p][p]
Tactical multiplayer shooter [/p][p]We know the word "tactical" can be used for shooters with short time-to-kill. But Loaders is different.  We wanted to create a tactical experience where strategy, positioning, and teamwork matter more than lightning-fast reflexes.[/p][p]This is more like chess… with tanks.[/p][p][/p][p]10 vs 10 PvP
Every match pits two teams of 10 players against each other.  Your goal?[/p]
  • [p]Wipe out the enemy team, or[/p]
  • [p]Destroy their pylon, a key objective on the battlefield.[/p]
[p]If you get eliminated, you’re out for the rest of the match (you become a spectator or can leave the game), so every move counts. It’s intense, but with a slower pace and more room to think.[/p][p][/p][p]Distant Future Setting[/p][p]The world of Loaders takes place in a broken future, where Earth has been abandoned and humanity now fights for survival and resources from orbit.
You don’t play as a soldier, but as a Loader, a human consciousness transferred into a remote-controlled tank. And these tanks are now anti-grave megatone beasts.[/p][p][/p][p]Destructible Terrain[/p][p]A destructible terrain, well, there is a lot to talk about this one, so we’ll make a separate Dev-blog for that. In the meantime, let’s just keep it short and sweep: everything you see can be destroyed. So no covers will last.[/p][p]
Slower-Paced = Smarter Fights[/p][p]Slower-paced gameplay means a high Time to Kill; you can’t one-shot enemies. In Loaders, you have time to reposition, support your squad, and react. It takes several hits to go down, and it takes time to cross the map.[/p][p]This gives real weight to every decision and a real sense of strategy to your games.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Why We’re Making This[/p][p]The whole idea behind this game was to give a big emphasis on teamwork and tactics in a shooting game. To offer a different gameplay experience, we went all in on the destructible environment. Because we were often frustrated to fire big guns/missiles at small covers just to see our enemy staying comfortably behind said cover, not having to move and keep the better position when we should have had the upper hand in that situation, if the cover was not invulnerable. We have more to come on what is in the game but for a quick summary, this dev-blog is getting too long. So let’s stop here.
