Update 1.8 is live!

We just released Update 1.8, introducing the "Supervolcanic Eruption" quick game and fixing a bug in the Asteroid Disaster!

Read the full changelog below:

Changes:
  • Added the Supervolcanic Eruption quick game to the game!
  • Reworked Hard Mode:
    • Earth will no longer see the effects of their decisions in Hard Mode, bringing them in line with other players.
    • Players will no longer see when someone targeted them with an ability and what the effects were in Hard Mode.
  • The cursor will now automatically disappear when it is idle for 3 seconds.
  • Added Chinese voiceovers for News Item headlines in the Supervolcanic Eruption disaster.
  • Added a config file that allows players to customize lots of game aspects. This file is called “config.default.ini” and can be found in “…/Project Planet - Earth vs Humanity/ProjectPlanet_Data”. Simply copy the default config, name it “config.ini” and make your required changes.
Warning: Using certain values in this config file may break the game. Never delete the “config.default.ini” and delete your custom config in case of game errors.

Balance changes:
  • Large range of small buffs and nerfs to bring the balance back in line with the version 1.6 balance, to offset changes caused by the internal systems overhaul in version 1.7.
  • Added two new questions to the Scientists to improve the balance in Stage 3 of the Solar Flare.

Bug fixes:
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the first Sensationalistic video of the Asteroid Impact to not be played.
  • Fixed an issue where the game could become stuck if a video could not be loaded (as in the previous issue).
  • Added a new question to the Public to prevent the game from getting stuck on Stage 3 of the Supervolcanic Eruption.
  • Fixed an issue where Scientists would get +6 score for selling research even if it fails in Supervolcanic Eruption Stage 1.
  • Fixed an issue where Scientists “Funding received” would show 0 when they got 4 funding.
  • Fixed an issue where the Public could not choose their third option for one of the questions in the Supervolcanic Eruption Stage 2.

Update 1.7 is live!

We just released Update 1.7, introducing the all new "Supervolcanic Eruption" disaster!

Read the full changelog below:

Changes:
  • Added the Supervolcanic Eruption disaster to the game!
  • The first supervolcanic eruption in modern human history. Originating at the Kikai Caldera in Japan, resulting in massive destruction and tsunamis hitting coastlines around Asia. The ash released will trigger a mini-ice age, resulting in power shortages and famine on a global scale.
  • Improved the naming of Research Tracks.

Balance changes:
  • Small change to Earth’s “Nature Pile-Up” decision in the Pest Control stage of the Locust Plague, to make the two cheaper options more appealing.
  • Small change to Industry’s “After-Effects Discovered” and “After-Effects Need Research” options, to make “Wait and see” option more appealing.
  • Large overhaul of internal systems that may slightly affect the balance. These changes will be offset in future (balance) updates.

Bug fixes:
  • Renamed server regions to accurately reflect both Hong Kong and Japan as viable options for Chinese players. Choosing the location closest to your location should reduce connection issues.
  • Fixed a visual error where Scientists’ funding received indicator displayed received funding for a self-funded research track.
