[h2]Hello Protectors![/h2]

We've been thrilled to see so many of you joining in our STAND-ALONE playtest, enjoying the rogue-lite action within the game and supporting our Lifuel team. We truly value your passion and feedback, to help us make STAND-ALONE the best it can be. You've taken matters into your own hooves, and we recognise the responsibility we have to make sure your thoughts are heard.

Our first Playtest update will bring a number of changes, bug fixes and localisation, all with the aim of providing you with a smoother and more enjoyable experience.

[H3]Changes[/h3]
  • Protective robot allies will now self destruct after a certain number of attacks
  • Added new visual effects for protective robots
  • the explosion hitbox size has been increased
The protective robot skill has been highly effective against regular enemies, but underwhelming against stronger foes and Elite minions (and bosses!). We felt that this was too much of an imbalance, and multiple conditions required for activation impacted the overall flow of gameplay. Changes here should make this ability easier to use and while it won't clear a whole path of enemies as it did before ("a little OP", according to Doctor Wolf) it will be more useful in a wider range of situations

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • fixed an issue with the Hammer weapon icon not appearing correctly within the Arsenal user interface
  • Fixed a bug that could cause a crash if mini bosses died at the exact moment they were stunned
  • Fixed an issue with some Chinese text appearing as "?"
  • Fixed an issue where investigation areas were set too large
  • Fixed an issue where some unfinished events were appearing incorrectly
  • Fixed an issue where the "-50% cooldown time" effect in certain passive skills were incorrectly applied in reverse (whoops, surprise debuff!)
  • Fixed an issue where some incomplete UI elements would appear unexpectedly
  • Fixed an issue where HP could be restored beyond the maximum limit (sorry)
  • fixed an issue where duplicate purchase of skills and upgrades was showing as "undo"

[h3]Localisation[/h3]
  • Adjusted the naming of Mech summoning to make it more intuitive
  • Fixed various text translation errors
  • Fixed an issue where certain NPCs would occasionally speak in Korean

It's been amazing to see so many Protectors take up the sword and take the fight to Doctor Wolf. Thanks to your help, we've already been able to deploy and begin work on various errors and alterations to make STAND-ALONE the best experience it can be.

We recognise that there are other reported issues which have not been included within this initial update. We'd like to let you know that these have not been forgotten, and we are working to get these corrected for players as soon as possible. In addition, once major bugs have been stabilised, we also have a small content update planned to bring you even more new experiences.

Once again, thank you for all of the support, and we look forward to seeing more of your adventures soon!

Protectors! Our first STAND-ALONE playtest is now live!

Protectors! After a long wait since we first invited you to play STAND-ALONE, our first playtest is now officially open! The future can now be, for a short time, in your hooves! Our team have been working to refine STAND-ALONE since we last invited protectors into the flock, and there’s a lot of new content to try out.

The playtest will be open from March 20th to the 27th. Protectors can get involved by visiting the STAND-ALONE Steam storefront to request access, and then hit Play Now to jump in following approval.



We really appreciate all of the support that Protectors have given since we first granted access to STAND-ALONE. This has been invaluable in shaping our game, allowing us to deliver a unique rogue-lite experience. In the new STAND-ALONE playtest, Protectors will find:
  • Updated pixel-art visuals: with unique enemies, smooth and impactful animations and lovingly-designed environments
  • Enhanced rogue-lite gameplay: delivering a brand new adventure every time, with randomised maps, items and skills to provide a fresh challenge
  • A Diverse selection of upgrades: with enhancing modules and hard-hitting skills to help players take the right to Doctor Wolf (allowing players to collect and upgrade weapons, abilities and enhancements to create your own battle style)
  • A gripping narrative: while we’re not giving everything away with the first playtest, it will allow Protectors to delve further into the story or our intrepid hero and the machinations of the evil Doctor Wolf


Once Protectors have had experience with STAND-ALONE’s first playtest, we value the time taken to provide support and feedback. We’d love to see and hear about your journey, and the best way to do this is to provide feedback through the main menu Survey option within the game.

Doing this will allow you to have a direct impact on STAND-ALONE. This playtest represents a title still within active development and does not represent the final vision of the development team quite yet. As such we would love to hear from you, to help us make STAND-ALONE even better – as one flock!

You can also chat with other protectors in the official STAND-ALONE Discord server, sharing your journey and keeping up with official news and announcements. In addition, the official Lifuel X (Twitter) account will let you get a further glimpse into what awaits, as well as keep up to date with relevant events.



STAND-ALONE Playtest Launching March 20th - Register now

Protectors! It’s been nearly three months since we last invited you to take matters into your own hooves with the STAND-ALONE demo. Since then, the team have been working meticulously to refine every aspect, from combos, skills and combat damage to interface and visual optimisations.

We’ve been working to deliver a smoother and more immersive game experience, to allow Protectors to really get under the wool of our protagonist. We’re happy to let you know that we’ll soon be inviting you to our first STAND-ALONE playtest. This means that you’ll be able to get early access to a limited number of stages, and (we hope) deliver feedback to help us ensure that STAND-ALONE is the best it can be.



[h2]Playlist Registration is Open Now[/h2]

Prospective Protectors can head over to Steam now to register for the upcoming playtest. The playtest will officially open on March 20th and will run for seven days to allow Protectors to get a good feel for STAND-ALONE. All you need to do is visit the official Steam store and click Register Now.

Playtest registration is open to all players, and we hope to see a lot of you getting your hooves dirty and joining the fight against Doctor Wolf’s minions. In addition, you can also join the official STAND-ALONE Discord to discuss news, updates and your experience in the playtest.



As with any playtest, this version represents a work in progress from the team. As such, please do expect changes including additions and tweaks between the playtest and release. We’re excited to see what you do with the skills, weapons and abilities in STAND-ALONE.
