Ovis Loop has an official Early Access Release Date!

Protectors, Loopers, Countrypeople… Lend us your hooves! We are beyond excited to announce that Ovis Loop now has an official Early Access release date, and you can join Omega to protect the flock from August 14th 2025!

So many of you have got your hooves dirty in our Ovis Loop playtests and even our STAND-ALONE Episode 0 demo (which we recently extended to July!) and we’d like to send another huge thank you for your support.

We’ve been honoured to have so many Protectors jump into the Loop, and blessed that so many of you have gone on to provide incredible feedback. Whether positive or critical, this support and feedback has been instrumental in how we’ve continued with Ovis Loop’s development.

As with all of our decisions, the choice to release into Early Access also revolves around your feedback. We wanted to make sure that your voices are heard, and that you continue to help us shape Ovis Loop. Early Access ensures that your opinions remain a leading influence on how our game continues to develop.

We can’t wait to open Ovis Loop up to the world on august 14th. In the meantime, wishlist on steam to keep up with news. You can also follow over on X (Twitter), or join the official Lifuel Discord to chat with other protectors.

As ever, we want you all to know how much your support has meant to us. As a very small development team, this has been so important for letting us know how you feel about mechanics and more. But in addition, it has always provided inspiration for us to continue our journey, and we can’t wait to see you all hitting the loop in our August 14th Early Access release.

Let’s Dive into the Playtest Data!

[p]It’s been a week! We wanted to send a huge thank you to all of the Protectors who have jumped into the Ovis Loop playtest. Whether you’ve played a little or a lot, your support and feedback has been absolutely incredible. We wanted to give you a little insight into the playtest, and how we’ll use this feedback and data to keep improving Ovis Loop![/p][p][/p][p]For this playtest we made a few changes. We completely overhauled many of the tutorial sections, and provided a lot of balancing and tweaks. As developers, we are constantly playing Ovis Loop ourselves, and as such it’s hard to see the project with fresh eyes.[/p][p]Your honest and objective feedback is so important to help us overcome this challenge, and make sure that we’re continuing to make improvements which players will resonate with. Your discoveries and suggestions mean that we can identify, tweak and fix issues which we may never have noticed ourselves.[/p][p]We know that many of you joined our first Playtest, and some have just played the demo. Even further, a lot of you are meeting Ovis Loop for the very first time (which we find really exciting). To give some context, we wanted to give you a little insight into he journey so far.[/p][p]In this playtest we’ve opened up Chapter Two, which has previously been reserved for internal testing. We’ve also been deploying changes and fixes with one central aim in mind – ensuring smooth and engaging flow of gameplay.[/p][p][/p][p]Rather than adding a huge amount of new content, our priority has been in resolving issues which testing has identified previously, and deploying changes to meet player expectations, based on your previous feedback. We also felt that gameplay fun “hooks” which were existing previously weren’t communicated effectively (that’s on us!) and we wanted to make sure players would fully understand it this time around.[/p][p]In total, our Protectors jumped into 12,065 loops by the end of the playtest, with 83% of you hitting the loop for the very first time (wow)!. We say 1,030 of our little lambs even clear the Chapter Two boss and thank you for coming to protect our flock![/p][p]You certainly tooled up, with 22,162 skills learned, 37,677 skill parts equipped and a staggering 64,113 modules installed! You folks really know how to party.[/p][p]14% of you let us know that you were struggling to understand skill effects, and this is something which we’re already working on, and will make every effort to ensure these are clearly communicated for you.[/p][p][/p][p]We also poured extra effort into tutorials and controls, making sure that this felt right for players. We’ve been thrilled to see in the playtest feedback that most of you really grasped Ovis Loop’s core structure and logic, and that control issues identified within previous feedback hare (mostly) been resolved.[/p][p]Our next priority is to implement the remaining fresh content, especially narrative elements, which were held back from this playtest to focus on our core focus. As well as going through the amazing feedback you’ve sent in (and thank you again for that) we’ll then circle back to quality-of-life systems and functionality, looking to further enhance the overall gameplay experience.[/p][p]We really (and we mean it) can’t thank you enough for jumping in, protecting your flock and taking the time to deliver honest and objective feedback. It is this support that allows us to continuously refine and improve Ovis Loop.[/p][p][/p][p]Every comment and suggestion sent in has been carefully catalogued, and while we haven’t been able to implement everything immediately, changes are already underway! Keep up with our progress on these and other areas over on X (Twitter) as well as by joining our official Discord community.[/p][p]We can’t wait to show you what’s coming next, so stay tuned![/p]

"OVIS LOOP" Live Streaming Session is now open!

[p]Live Streaming Schedule: Starting now.[/p][p][/p][p]Live Streaming Frequency: 24/7 (Fingers crossed for a reliable computer, no internet or power cuts...)[/p][p][/p][p]Tune in to our live stream to explore the game content of "OVIS LOOP" with us! You can also interact and communicate with other players in a friendly manner.[/p]

Introducing our new name – STAND-ALONE is now Ovis Loop

Hello again, Protectors!

We’ve been so inspired by the passion you’ve shown throughout our playtests and our recent Demo period. Alongside the changes mentioned in our DevLog, we wanted to let you know of another change coming to STAND-ALONE, as well as our brand-new playtest which is available now.

Before that, though, we wanted to send a heart-felt thank you to every player who has followed, supported and joined us on our journey with STAND-ALONE so far. Your enthusiastic encouragement and honest feedback have meant so much to our small development team.
Time for a new beginning – Introducing Ovis Loop!
After seeing all of your passion and feedback for STAND-ALONE, we decided that a change was needed. A lot of you mentioned how difficult it was to find STAND-ALONE on the web. Obviously this is a big deal for us, as no matter how good the game is, players must be able to search for it. So, you may have noticed already, but you’ll now find our game under our new name, and we’d like to introduce you to Ovis Loop!

As a name, Ovis Loop represents our core mechanics, with our Ovian (sheepish) main character as well as the looping gameplay synonymous with rogue-lite adventures. We believe that Ovis Loop fits perfectly with our core themes, including:
 • Our rogue-lite action mechanics
 • Our main character, the sheep Omega
 • Our post-apocalyptic sci-fi universe
 • Our cycle of live – fight – shop – rest – die – repeat
 • Your ongoing battle against Doctor Wolf’s minions
The new store page name may take some time to take effect. Thank you for your understanding.
Another chance to get your hooves dirty
We also wanted to let you know that you can get hooves-on with Ovis Loop right now as part of our new playtest on Steam. You can experience an upgraded Ovis Loop, looking at the improvements our team have made so far – all based on your incredible feedback.

This is an open playtest and we’re not limiting numbers, so you can get in game between the 30th of May and the 6th of June by requesting access on Steam.

We hope that you’ll jump in and take a look at what we’ve been working on since the last playtest, earlier this year. The team have been going through your incredible feedback, and we’ve been implementing a lot of changes to improve the user experience.

This includes balance adjustments to skills and modules, and a good number of quality of life improvements. We’ve also added fixes, tutorial elements, unique boss modules, new stories and more. Overall, even if you have been playing in our previous playtests, it’s definitely worth jumping in for one more go.

If you can’t make this playtest period, we’ll also be letting you get into Ovis Loop within Steam Next Fest, though as we’ve had to submit things early there it will look a little different! You may see Ovis Loop still referred to as STAND-ALONE during Steam Next Fest, but rest assured it’s still the sheepish hero that we know and love.
Thank you, once more!
Another huge thank you to those have already tried out the game into our playtest, joined us on Discord or X (Twitter) and wishlisted Ovis Loop.

We are doing our best to incorporate all of your feedback from these sessions into the game. We’re only a small team here, so we can’t get around to it all at once, so we ask would you kindly give us a little time to get it all built in.

We’ll be bringing you more development insights, stories and news in the coming weeks, so make sure to stick around.

STAND-ALONE Playtest Delayed

Hello Protectors! We’ve been really excited to welcome you into our STAND-ALONE playtest which was scheduled for May 25th. We’re sorry to be the bearer of bad news but we’re going to have to ask you to wait just a little longer, and our STAND-ALONE playtest will now be running from May 30th.

We really hate to delay, but we want to make sure that the playtest provides our Protectors with the smoothest experience possible. While we’ve been making a lot of changes based on your feedback, a couple of these have had some unintended effects.

The last thing we want is to have your time cut short. We value the passion that you pour into STAND-ALONE as much as we do, and we would hate for this limited time to be wasted through stability issues.

In addition, there are also some new content elements which we wanted to make sure were in the loop for when playtesters get their hooves on STAND-ALONE again. With all this in mind, including bug fixing, stabilising and new content, we simply couldn’t fit it into the time we have before the 25th.

So we’ve decided to delay just a little, and we hope you’ll still jump into STAND-ALONE on May 30th. If you haven’t already, please make sure to head to the STAND-ALONE Steam storefront to request access, and we’ll be authorising Protectors as quickly as we can once the playtest starts.

Don't forget! You can also follow us over on X (Twitter) and join the official Lifuel Discord server as well, where we'll also share updates and sneak peeks regarding STAND-ALONE and what's coming soon.
