Patch Notes v1.0.1

New Equipment
  • Fiber Optic Cable: Adds a 4th option when picking upgrades. If you've already completed the requirements to unlock this equipment, it will become available after your next run (including abandoned runs).
General
  • You can now reinstall weapons destroyed by Specializer. After gaining additional weapon slots, your original weapons will appear in the upgrade rotation at their previous level.
  • The Completionist legendary now uses the phrase "EXP orb" to be consistent with other text in the game
  • Added extra text to clarify that "on heal" abilities trigger even when healing at full HP
  • The final Spread Invert upgrade now says "+2 bullets to all abilities" in order to better reflect what it actually does. Previously, it stated it only applied to weapons.
  • Updated gold bonus on stage reward screen to say "challenge reward" in order to better reflect that the gold is coming from completed challenges
Balance
  • Assassin Protocol: No longer adds 1s cooldown
  • Weapon Mount: Now gives +10% EXP
  • Rubber Plating: No longer reduces the player’s outgoing crash damage
  • Attribute Wall: Increased cooldown/fire rate bonus per shield from 1% to 1.5%
  • Chakram: Increased starting size
Bug fixes
  • Fixed an issue where Chakram would lag behind the player when playing at less than 120 FPS
  • Fixed a similar issue where some Stage 2 enemies would form a tighter circle than intended depending on framerate
  • The Max FPS setting now properly takes affect when restarting the game
  • Certain Stage 3 enemies can no longer be knocked off the screen
  • Killing an enemy offscreen will no longer trigger Completionist damage due to the EXP spawning offscreen
  • EXP from equipment and miniboss loot is no longer destroyed by leaving the screen
  • Fixed an issue where fashion items dropped more frequently than intended

Greetings star pilots! It's been a long journey, but we're finally here.

[h2]Release Highlights[/h2]
Asteroid Launcher
This new weapon fires a massive, physical projectile that deals crash damage. Master this weapon to unlock a legendary capable of adding crash damage to any weapon (and yes, bullets trigger Explosive Armor).

Virus Damage
A new virus damage type enables high-risk, high-reward builds. Virus weapons and passives drain your own health in exchange for massive buffs. Don't go too deep into virus upgrades until your healing can keep up.

Shields
Shields completely block damage, and grant bonuses while you remain untouched. Push your bullet hell skills to the limit, as careful dodging is the way to maintain your shields and maximize this build.

Domain of the Revenant
New enemies and bosses are waiting on the research planet of Cobalt Syntharia. The rebel army now possess advanced revenant rebirth drives. Watch out for invincible rebel ships, raised from the dead by a Spectromancer. Kill the source, and they all die.

Fashion
Deck out your ship in ultra-rare fashion equipment, as well many new ship bodies and engine trails. Fashion equipment is only available to players who complete the toughest challenges.

Challenges
Master the game by completing a new series of challenges, on both stages and loadouts. The harder ones are linked directly to Steam achievements. Can you beat the Stage 1 boss in 7 seconds? Probably not.

  • Steam achievements are in

  • Additional challenges have been added to the loadouts included in the demo
  • The game will pause when the player's gamepad disconnects
  • You can know have more than 9999 gold
  • Leveling up after maxing out all upgrades will now have crypto gold as the first option
  • The end-of-stage battle report will now show the total gold earned from boss loot
Balance
  • Stage 1 has a few more moments where you feel like you're totally going to die
  • Codex now also grants +1 weapon slot
  • Unstable Encyclopedia: Decreased the heal rate from 5% to 3%
  • Titanium Plating: Increased cooldown bonus from 1% to 2%
  • Explosive Armor: Reduced the fully upgraded damage multiplier from 125% to 54%
  • Explosive Armor: Reduced the bullet upgrades from 2 to 1
  • Spread Needle/Spread Invert: Reduce the fully upgraded cooldown multiplier from 21% to 10%
  • Dark Matter Field: Increased pierce from 3 to 5
  • Heatseeker Prime: Decreased the fully upgraded damage multiplier from 96% to 68%
Bug fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the level up window would show incorrect text
  • Switching tabs on the shop screen will now properly scroll to the top of the new tab's item list
  • EXP orbs will no longer have trails that stretch across the screen
  • Leveling up and collecting boss loot in the same frame will no longer cancel each other out
  • The EXP bar on the UI now properly resets after leveling up
  • Fixed an issue where a single level up would trigger the upgrade window two or three times
  • Spawning enemies will no longer suffer from uncontrollable twitching shortly after they appear
  • Background buildings are no longer floating above the ground on low graphics settings
  • Fixed an issue where the cursor on the equipment menu wouldn't loop properly

First up will be bug fixes and balance. Share your OP builds and keep the bug reports coming.
Next will be taking a look at a highly requested feature: local co-op. No promises yet, as I need to make sure multiplayer works well in a game like this.

Solar Survivors launches on April 16

Greetings star pilots. The High Priests of Eden have decreed that Solar Survivors shall launch on April 16th. Become the ultimate faithkeeper you were meant to be, and destroy the rebel army with overwhelming firepower and OP builds.

I'm excited to finally share the 1.0 release with everyone! And don't worry, all save data from the demo will transfer over automatically. I'll share full patch notes on release day, but look forward to new content, challenges, and crazy legendaries.

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback, posted videos, streamed on twitch, and just played the game in generally. See you in two weeks.
