Monster Hunter Wilds will get a 'large scale expansion' in the style of Iceborne and Sunbreak, as it winds down major content updates to the base game




Monster Hunter Wilds producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has confirmed a major expansion is coming, mirroring in scope the Iceborne and Sunbreak expansions for Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise. A free trial for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection lets you get a taste of the game before its March 13, 2026 release. In addition to jumping right into the beginning of the story, you'll be able to customize your character, try out the battle system, and start collecting equipment and Monsties just like in the full version.

You can transfer your save data to the full version and continue playing where you left off.

The trial version has only one save slot (the full version will have three).

You can only advance to level 10 in the trial version. You can continue playing upon reaching the level cap, but you will no longer gain any experience points. The amount of Trade Points and Monsties you can accumulate are also capped.

In order to carry over your progress to the full version, you must use the same account, with the save data on your PC.

[h2]Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue where two of the setting labels under the option for Foliage Density (Options → Graphics → Foliage Density) were blank when the text language was set to any besides Japanese.
  • Fixed an issue where, when the Options → Graphics → Render Distance option was set to "Lowest," fast traveling between the Windward Plains base camp and the training area could cause the game to crash.

Sorry if this jinxes it, but the latest Monster Hunter Wilds performance improvement patch seems like it actually improved performance




I'll confess that when Capcom announced its multi-patch performance improvement plan for Monster Hunter Wilds, I was skeptical about just how much it would accomplish—especially when the first of the regimen's updates delivered the same mixed results as Capcom's previous attempts to address Wilds' technical woes. The early details for this month's PC-specific follow-up patch, which touted additional graphics and CPU options alongside the vague promise of yet more "CPU/GPU optimization," didn't inspire confidence either...
