Capcom cooked up some extremely cursed Palico outfits in Monster Hunter Wilds

There are many different traditions associated with playing Monster Hunter; getting a good meal before a hunt, sharpening your weapon every three seconds, grabbing all items in sight despite not needing them (you've probably got enough herbs by now). But my favorite has always been dressing up my cat companion in the most cursed cosmetics available...

Monster Hunter Wilds – Week One Community Message!

Hey hunters,

How’s the hunting?

It’s been one week since the launch of Monster Hunter Wilds and we all stepped forth into the Forbidden Lands, marking the arrival of the next generation of the Monster Hunter series!

There’s been many moving parts as the team worked over launch weekend and beyond, collating feedback, addressing critical issues and more, so we’d like to take a moment to share a few updates with you, both on the celebratory side, as well as acknowledging feedback from the community.

As we’re continuing to collate, analyse and process the player feedback and reports, we won’t be going into the finer details today, but we hope what we can share right now is helpful!

Launch Milestones!

First up, let’s celebrate some cool milestones! We wanted to share our immense gratitude for your support during launch week, seriously, thank you all so much from everyone on the Monster Hunter team, you rock!

Thanks to you, the Steam community, Monster Hunter Wilds became Capcom’s most successful PC launch to date with a truly massive concurrent player count of 1,384,608, putting the game in Steam top 5 games of all-time for concurrent players. By comparison, Monster Hunter: World had a peak of 334,684, so that’s quite the jump!

Monster Hunter Wilds also hit a milestone of over 8 million copies sold across all platforms in just the first three days following launch, which has left us truly humbled by such amazing support.

This is just the start for the next generation of Monster Hunter, and we look forward to taking the next steps with you.

Patches, Fixes and Community Feedback

Speaking of next steps, let’s talk about what we’ve addressed since launch, and what’s next on the community feedback front.

Since launch, you’ve probably seen us deploy a couple of patches that addressed priority issues such as:
  • Progression blockers
  • Game stability
  • Gameplay bugs

These were, in the grand scheme of things, relatively quick fixes, allowing us to move quickly and address them thanks to player reports.

The team are currently working through other known issues, including network errors, crash issues and more.

A list of currently known issues can be found HERE.

Community Feedback

As previously mentioned, the team have been meticulously going through player feedback here on the Steam forums, in Steam reviews, social media channels, community hubs and more.

We’ve been collating everything we’re seeing, from the positive, to constructive and negative. This includes current community hot topics too.

Whilst we’re not quite ready to talk in more detail about this today, we wanted to reassure you that we’re watching, listening and working away behind the scenes. When we have more news to share with you, we will!

Thank you for your patience, support and feedback in the meantime!

What’s Next?

As we previously mentioned, launch really is just the start for the next generation of Monster Hunter!

The game’s first two free Event Quests are live now, giving you the opportunity to craft an adorable new piece of headgear, as well as stock up on your Kunafa Cheese supplies! More Event Quests will be released on a regular basis moving forward, so keep a look out for them. If you’d like to see what’s coming in the next few weeks, you can do so with our Event Quest info page HERE.

We’ve also announced our first two free Title Updates, aptly named Title Update 1 and Title Update 2, which will bring even more content to the game!

We recently revealed that Title Update 1 will be arriving early April and shared a little bit about what new content you’ll be receiving. Check it out below:

A New Level of Challenge!

Prepare your gear, and resolve, hunters! TU1 will bring with it a monster of formidable strength at a level above Tempered!

Another challenging monster will also await you!

A Place to Gather!

A new place to meet, communicate, have meals together and more with other hunters will be added to Monster Hunter Wilds in TU1!

This area will be available to hunters who have completed the main story, so get hunting and be ready!

Quest Complete – We’ll see you next time!

That wraps up today’s post! Thank you again for your incredible support since launch.

We’ll see you in the Wilds.

Monster Hunter Wilds Dapperwing location

Where can you find the Monster Hunter Wilds Dapperwing? Dapperwings are an endemic life species needed to complete Samin's Research Report, a side quest that appears fairly early on in Monster Hunter Wilds.

These elusive birds can be hard to find in the large Monster Hunter Wilds map, but it's worth it. Completing Samin's research report rewards you with ten Blue Mushrooms, five Honey, and 50 Guild Points. Catching these birds is one of the many Monster Hunter Wilds quests that requires you to hunt down a specific species of endemic life like the Monster Hunter Wilds Tracktail Lizard, which you need to complete first.
