Update v0.5.0 โ€“ Zombie Upgrades - All NEW Models & Combat Push!



Howdy survivors!

Over the past few months we have been cooking on some new zombie upgrades and the time has finally come!

Be prepared to see 49 bone-chilling new zombies on the island. Water-logged scooba divers, insane gamer girls, teethless grandmas, and much more will surely scare your socks off.

In addition to all these new zombies, a new feature has been added for combat: PUSH. No more swinging for the fences and praying for the luck of the draw. Now you can strategically push zombies, causing them to briefly stumble so that you can take them down.

We've wanted custom zombie models for years now. We are hyped that it's finally here.

Greetings Survivors!

We've just released a new patch to address critical issues and a sprinkle of some more goodies. Here's what's new:

[h2]Save System Adjustments[/h2]
  • Fixed an issue causing some player data to be overwritten for clients connected to servers.
  • Fixed a bug where players would incorrectly spawn on the coast after loading their save.
  • Resolved a situation where players became permanently stuck in a rad storm if saving and reloading during the event.
  • Added additional security on the resource manager save loading to prevent a crash.
  • Made the load screen window wider on the main menu.

[h2]Gameplay Improvements[/h2]
  • Admin Menu: Keycards can now be spawned directly from the admin menu (for all the cheaters out there).
  • Balance Update: Lowered gunpowder requirements across various bullet types, making crafting ammo less resource-intensive.
  • World Enhancements: Expanded road infrastructure with additional roadside elements, including light poles, guard rails, and more, for a richer exploration experience.
  • Further improvements and developments on the Cave POI.

Update v0.4.19 โ€“ โ˜ข The Rad Rework & Save System Overhaul



Survivors, a major update is here! This release refines and expands upon the v0.4.18 Beta Branch, bringing a rad system rework, upgraded save mechanics, an all-new ambient sound manager, gamemode presets, achievements, and much more! Thank you to those who helped us test out the beta branch! Letโ€™s break it down.

[h2]Key Features & Changes[/h2]

[h3]โ˜ข Rad Rework[/h3]

The radiation system has been revamped! Expect better balancing, new rad-tier mechanics, and a host of new rad-related items to help you survive.

The old radiation system was just percentage-based, where having certain clothing items or accessories equipped would lead to a lower percentage of radiation poisoning. The new system is now tier-based, meaning that different zones will require a greater tier of radiation protection. If you get 100 protection, you have now reached LEGENDARY status and are immune to radiation poisoning. There are a few different routes to achieve 100 rad protection, a little tipโ€ฆ take advantage of your accessory slots!

  • New Rad Med Container โ€“ Find the new anti-rad meds more in high rad areas.
  • Spirulina Algae (grows in toxic water areas) โ€“ Can now be crafted into:
    - Spirulina Algae Cig
    - Spirulina Algae Tea
    - Spirulina Algae Pills


[h3]๐Ÿ’พ Save System Upgrades[/h3]

Weโ€™re overhauling saves to ensure better stability and functionality:

  • Save history tracking (e.g., ABC, ABC_1, ABC_2) โ€“ Never lose track of past saves.
  • Backup saves now listed separately in the Load Menu.
  • Fixed world container saves โ€“ No more lost items due to missing data.
  • Vehicle saves now preserved when using the save fixer.
  • UI tweaks for Load Menu integration into Pause & Main Menus.


[h3]๐ŸŽถ Ambient Sound Manager Implemented[/h3]

  • A new ambient sound system adds immersive environmental audio that changes based on the time of day.

  • Major bunker loot buffs
  • Fixed containers with incorrect interact names
  • Fixed Tainted Guzzler issue โ€“ Now properly cleans in a campfire or furnace.
  • Fixed MainLevel collisions
  • Added missing ladders
  • Fixed minimap inconsistencies (Thanks to ClusterDuck & others!)
  • Increased loot across all sources (containers, AI, road warriors, etc.).
  • RadRX now has 8 uses, visually represented by its pill mesh.
  • More stones can now be picked up in the environment.
  • Mouse input in vehicles now respects sensitivity & inverted settings.
  • Fixed admin teleport bug โ€“ You can now teleport across the map (allegedly).
  • Improved reload animations for shotguns when swapping items.
  • Quickbind Timer adjustment โ€“ Prevents multiple hotkey spamming.
  • New tooltips added for key items (e.g., keycards now indicate usage locations).
  • Further developments on the Cave POI
  • Added keycards to admin spawn list

Beta Branch Update v0.4.18 โ€“ Survivors Needed!

We're rolling out changes to the core save system, and we need survivors to help stress-test it on the Beta Branch (Enlist Below ๐Ÿซก). This update also includes a rad system revamp, loot improvements, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements. More to come in the official public update, but letโ€™s break it down:

  • Fixed various collision issues and LOD adjustments.
  • Further developments on Cave POI.
  • Fixed reload animation glitch on shotguns when swapping items.
  • Improved Quickbind Timer โ€“ prevents spamming multiple hotkeys at once.
  • Added new tooltips for key items (e.g., keycards now indicate where to use them).
  • Added new nature ambient tech โ€“ still being fine-tuned before the next update.
  • Setup 3D text fonts for Russian, Chinese, Japanese. Text in tutorial should now localize better to these languages.
  • Fixed two bugs that would separately result in the player holding a glitched gun.
  • Fixed issue that would cause certain weapons looted from world containers to not load ammo properly.

HOTFIX ๐Ÿ”ด v0.4.17 ๐Ÿ”ด Fixed Admin Privileges



[h2]Hotfix Update: Don't PANIC. IM NOT PANICING!+#%(&[/h2]

No worries, survivors. There was just a small misstep made when we made the last build. It allowed everyone to be an admin without our authorization check... OOPS (Dev Ears fault): We often disable this check when doing testing in the editor and forgot to re-enable it. Not to worry, we turned it back on.

In better news, we added new types of tooltips to "important" items. The keycard is the perfect example of an important item. You'll notice they have a tip on where to use them! This was recommended by a few survivors and pointed out by Oreon:



We have made it much easier now! Thank you for the positive feedback, we have been listening with our dev "ear"s. Please keep it coming, as it helps our team significantly and shapes ZSGO.

We also added some new nature ambient tech that needs some tweaking. We are looking to tidy this up before the release of our next update.



Lastly, there were some collision fixes across MainLevel as usual!
