Co-Op is Coming to the Freelands!

Hey Adventurers!

We’re thrilled to be sharing a first look at the upcoming Co-Op Update in our latest trailer that was just revealed during ClemmyGames’ Best Indie Games Summer Showcase 2025!

Experience synchronous drop-in/drop-out local co-op and a dynamic shared screen for seamless collaboration. Players will retain their own levels, skills, and inventories when switching between co-op and single-player modes, maintaining each player’s unique attributes. All features that players have encountered on their adventures in solo mode can now be enjoyed with company, including marriage and starting a family.

To celebrate this special occasion, Mirthwood is 25% off until June 10th! Thanks to all of you who have ventured into the Freelands and helped us expand on the world of Mirthwood! We can’t wait to see the adventures that lie ahead for you and your companions when the Co-Op Update launches later this summer!

Excellent Stardew Valley rival Mirthwood is finally about to get co-op

To me, co-op is what turns Stardew Valley into a truly phenomenal game. The farming sim is already brilliant without it, but the ability to easily play with friends makes any game better. The mixture of working together, chaos, and occasional bits of trickery always elevates the experience, and the delightful Mirthwood is no exception. This farming and life sim has been going from strength to strength since it launched, and the new announcement of a Mirthwood co-op update means it's only going to get better.

Patch 1.0.66
1.0.66
- Added new celebratory Trophy Stand item to traveling merchant (for Best Indie Games Summer Showcase 2025 inclusion)
- Minor backend changes for future content

Dev Update: May 2025

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to check in and share what we’ve been working on.

Since the marriage update, our focus has been on bringing co-op functionality to Mirthwood. This is coming along nicely! When we get a bit closer we’ll share more details - but expect to play together remotely (through Steam remote play) or locally, while each managing your own inventories and skills.

We’re also going to be working (with a partner) on porting to the Switch, which we’re excited about! However, this has required updating our Unity version, which is unexpectedly eating into some of the development time set aside for other roadmap items.

Beyond this, we’re continuing to work on additional content like children, instruments, and… something larger. But more on that later!

Thanks to all of you who have played, commented, and critiqued. We appreciate you all!
