In today's SCS On The Road episode, Oscar interviewed Carsten Krieger, product manager at Schmitz Cargobull who has worked there since 1991. We would like to thank Carsten for his time and expertise in showing us this trailer as well as the whole of Schmitz Cargobull for their cooperation in bringing these works of art into Euro Truck Simulator 2! Now without further ado, let's watch the episode.

Kässbohrer Trailer Pack DLC Work in Progress Update #2

Kässbohrer is coming to Euro Truck Simulator 2 and today, we are happy to provide you with a small update on the progress of this DLC. If you haven't previously read the first blog on this announcement, you can take a look at it here.

We're happy to share that the Kässbohrer Trailer Pack is in its final stages before release! Our team has been working hard to polish a few parts before we send it for approval. We believe it shouldn't be too long before you will be able to haul with Kässbohrer yourself.

If you haven't already, be sure to follow our official Social Media Channels on X/Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to be notified when the DLC will be released! However, as you may know, IAA Transportation isn't too far away, so it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility that it may be released around that time.

We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to our contacts and the wonderful team at Kässbohrer. Their excitement and dedication to this project were evident as they even visited our new offices for a few days to assist with the creation of this DLC by addressing additional details and questions that our team had. Their work has greatly supported us, and we cannot thank them enough for all the time and effort they dedicated towards helping us.

We hope you enjoyed reading this small update, and we look forward to releasing the Kässbohrer Trailer Pack DLC in the near future. Let us know which trailer you'd like to haul first! Until then, keep on truckin'.

Greece - Border Crossings #2

Papers, please! In today's blog, we would like to share some more previews of the border crossings you will encounter on your way in and out of Greece, our upcoming map expansion for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Ready to make the crossing? Let's get moving.

In total, you will come across six border crossings, each of them unique in their own way, in shape and size. If you haven't seen the first part of this blog, showcasing the first 3 crossings, you can check it out here.
Ipsala - Kipoi
The border crossing in İpsala is a major commercial crossing between Greece and Türkiye, and is the largest border crossing area found in the Greece DLC. In real life, this border handles an average 400 trucks a day, featuring its own dedicated road lanes splitting the traffic in half between trucks, cars & buses for the entire length of the crossing.

Whilst we don't want to make our players wait for long periods of time in traffic crossing between countries, our team has accurately recreated the crossing area, including the road network and structures built there to handle the busiest crossing points between these two countries.
Bogorodica - Evzoni
Located on the E75 Route, the Bogorodica - Evzoni border crossing connects Greece with North Macedonia. This border crossing contains the largest number of road lanes for vehicles to pass through in our Greece DLC!

Outside the main border gate on the Greek side, you can find a special lane for trucks, which helps with the flow of traffic. If you are on a Special Transport route, this will also be the dedicated Border Control crossing to pass through!
Kulata - Promachonas
Regarded as one of the key entry points between the two countries of Bulgaria and Greece, this Border Control crossing is a popular route for tourists and commercial traffic alike. Travellers passing through will go over a bridge that takes drivers over the Pirinska Bistritsa river. This crossing (like all those shown in this blog) have been custom-made to perfectly resemble its real-life counterpart.

We hope you enjoy the detail that has gone into creating these key Border Crossing points in our upcoming Greece DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. If you like what you see, then consider supporting us by adding Greece to your Steam Wishlist! Until next time, keep on truckin'.

Nordic Horizons: Rovaniemi

Today, we're excited to share our first blog post focusing on one of the many cities which will be found in our upcoming Nordic Horizons DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. Let's make the journey to our first destination in Northern Finland!

Tervetuloa to Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland! Best known as the official hometown of Santa Claus, this northern city attracts visitors from all around the world, with its unique blend of wilderness and modern comforts. As one of the larger cities in Finland, there is plenty to explore and discover as a visiting truck driver.

Drivers visiting this city will most likely arrive by the E75, which runs right through the city. As you approach the city from the North-East, you'll discover the crossing of two majestic rivers – The Ounasjoki River and Kemijoki River. Be sure to enjoy the view as you travel past them.

In the city you'll find landmarks such as the Arktikum Science Centre and Musuem, and of course, Santa Claus Village, which serves as a year-round family-focused Christmas attraction. Truckers will of course be able to enjoy seeing both of these, and more, on their travels through the city!

Did you know Rovaniemi experiences the Midnight Sun? Also known as the nightless night or polar day, the midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in locations north of the Arctic Circle. Simply put, the sun never sets between the months of June and July, as the earth is rotating at a tilted axis relative to the sun, and during summer, the North Pole is angled towards it! This has also been replicated in this DLC, so you'll experience it for yourself, virtually, no matter where in the (real) world you are.

Drivers will also find plenty of opportunities for job contracts in the south of the city, where the industry area is located. We look forward to sharing more on unique industries found in this DLC in the future.

We hope you enjoyed checking out the first (of quite a few) previews into the cities you'll find featured in the Nordic Horizons DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2. If you are excited to get trucking in this region, be sure to add to your Steam Wishlist. Until next time, keep on truckin'!

Euro Truck Simulator 2 - 1.51 Update Open Beta

Today, we are happy to share with you that the 1.51 Open Beta branch for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is now available to try and test out. If you plan on participating in this Open Beta, we ask that you please help us by reporting any bugs you may encounter in the appropriate section(s) of our official forums.

Your feedback and reports are extremely valuable to our team and we thank you in advance for taking the time to help us out. So, without further ado, let's take a look at what the 1.51 Open Beta has in store.
New Title Screen
One of the first and most prominent changes you will encounter in this update is a complete redesign of our Title Screen. Whilst keeping in line with our recent user interface rework, we wanted a design which is easy to navigate and understand for all players.

First and foremost, one of the main difference you'll notice about the new Title Screen is the focus on a truck in the centre of the screen. On the left, you'll find the menu which allows easy access to the more important features of the game, such as Options, and other sub-menus such as the DLC (formerly DLC Browser) and the Mod Manager, which will display the number of MODs active next to it if you have any installed.

To access your Profile Manager, just simply click your profile widget located in the top right of the menu screen.

Functionally, we have also made navigation more comfortable with a gamepad or a steering wheel, requiring less time reaching for a keyboard from the moment you launch ETS2 or ATS. This design also leaves us space to make tweaks and changes where needed, as well as make additions in the future.

We'd like to thank the community for their feedback on the first iteration of this Title Screen, which was showcased in a recent blog. We look forward to hearing your comments on this version during the 1.51 Open Beta.
Germany Rework - Bremen, Kassel, Osnabrück and Magdeburg
As part of our on-going Germany Rework project, we are excited to present the cities of Bremen, Kassel, Osnabrück, and Magdeburg have been completely re-worked and are included for free as part of the 1.51 update for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Players checking out these areas can expect to travel on new and improved road networks, deliver to accurately represented industries in the area, discover and explore landmarks and more! Each of these areas have been rebuilt completely from scratch, utilizing new map techniques and technology.

Eager to learn more details about each city and their update? You can read about all the changes in these cities in our individual blog posts which you can find here!

We hope you enjoy re-discovering these cities again! There is plenty to explore and we would love to hear your feedback, seen your screenshots and more. Be sure to share them with us at our official SCS Software forums, or on our social media channels!
Custom City Intros for Italia and Beyond the Baltic Sea DLCs
In this update, we have slightly reworked all of the in-game intros for every city in the Italia and Beyond the Baltic Sea DLCs with an ownable garage. With seventeen cities in the Italia DLC and twenty-four in the Beyond the Baltic Sea DLC, a total of 41 cities have received new or updated Custom City Intros!
Options QoL Improvements
The main change is the addition of a search bar for easier navigation across all settings categories. When a search is conducted, matches will be displayed in the current setting category, and sections where the search term also appears will be highlighted.

We have also reorganized the existing options in the settings for better clarity. These options are now divided into subcategories within each section. Additionally, two new categories, "Interface" and "Accessibility," have been added to the bottom menu for better distribution.

We've also introduced some changes that provide ease of access when it comes to changing the Desktop Background in ETS2 and ATS. You can now change your menu background directly using a shortcut from the main menu, or alternatively, you can access the same option via the interface section in your settings.

However, that's not all! We've now also made it possible to preview your backgrounds before changing them. Simply click on the background of your choice via the carousel, and you'll be presented with a short preview of how it would look, before confirming your selection.

Players will also be notified through a small widget on the main menu if they have received a new Desktop Background option as part of an event reward or update. Clicking on this will also direct you to the new settings which are implemented in this update.
