1.02 Micro Patch

Wish Next Fest days away, we thought we'd squeeze in a little update.

- Decrease default audio player volume & email reading volume
- Make audio player stickier! It will now re-open if you had it open in a previous session
- Fix bug where water used chart wasn't displaying properly
- Fix bug where marketplace wasn't fully muting if muted
- Small tweaks to tutorial wording to improve clarity

FACEMINER Demo Version 1.00 Released!

Version 1.0 of the FACEMINER demo is now released! The 'beta' disclaimer has been left in the dust and we have our first full version number to prove it. There has been no better time to try out the demo.

With this update comes some pretty big changes -- primarily around the BALANCE of the self-contained demo experience.

To those who played the demo before and were left defeated by its unforgiving nature, we urge you to try again. The days of runs that go on for hours is over; you will lose faster, the game will (auto)save more often, and if you do win, it'll happen in around half the time. The result amounts to what is hopefully a nimbler experience for all. It may even approach being 'enjoyable' in places for some users (unconfirmed).

What else is new?

- A massively overhauled message-reading voice! This was the most requested improvement by far. Thanks again to Madwreck with the help on nailing these.

- Removed emissions from the demo and simplified the surveillance feature a little — these will both come into their own more in the full game, but for now we're nerfing them

- VFX can now be disabled through the menu

- Many small tweaks to the visuals and narrative/emails; little polishes to make your mining experience better.

- Many small bugfixes, too numerous and tedious to mention Thank you for reading, and Happy Mining.

FACEMINER is the dystopian surveillance work-from-home side hustle you’ve always wanted

FACEMINER is a clicker/puzzle game where you work from your CRT monitor to analyse packets of facial surveillance data for a mysterious company. It describes itself as a ‘hardcore thriller clicker set in 1999’. As a connoisseur of unusual word combinations - as well as a believer in the satirical power of clicker games since playing Universal Paperclips - I immediately set about downloading the free Steam demo.

FACEMINER BETA DEMO TEST SIGN-UP

FACEMINER is looking for willing test subjects to participate in a complimentary TRIAL PERIOD for the game.

After months of heads-down development, we are getting ready to unleash a FACEMINER demo upon the world. One problem: we don't know how well the game works yet. Not just in a "is this fun/interesting" way, but in a "does this crash on the x64 version of the Windows 7", way, too. This is where you can come in.
