UPDATE 1.20.2 – QUALITY OF LIFE


[h3]Soldiers![/h3]Update 1.20.2 is here and with it loads of Quality of Life improvements! There is a lot, so make sure to read all the way through!

[h2]Headshot Multiplier[/h2]After many votes, discussions and community interactions we reached a result!

Headshot multiplier has been reduced to 3.58, except for pistols and melee weapons.

[h2]RTS: Capitals[/h2]We have teased the new capitals for War Mode for a while and it’s time to release them!

US Capitals are now: Istanbul and Rome.
GE Capitals are now: Leningrad and Moscow.
SU Capitals are now: London and Edinburgh

[h2]Mounted Guns on Terrain Vehicles[/h2]The soviet GAZ-67 has received it’s mounted gun! Because of this we also updated the PM1910/30 on RU Anti-Air guns.

Mounted guns are now unlocked at level 10 of Vehicle Specialist Ribbon and has to be bought/equipped.

[h2]Sound Improvements/Tweaks[/h2]We have worked on giving our oldest weapons new and better sounds and fixed other sound issues.

New shot sounds for the following handguns:
P08 Parabellum, Pistol C96, M1917 Revolver, M1911 and Tula Tokarev 33.

Fixed an issue where certain melee weapons could be heard over very long distances.
Also fixed the PPSh-41 being heard at full volume within 50 meter radius.

[h2]Terrain Fixes[/h2]We have done several terrain fixes for Forward Airfield and Town Map. These include smoothed terrain, floating objects and more!

[h2]Model & Animation Changes[/h2]We have updated some of our weapon models and animations.

PPSh-41 model has been updated.
Added new and unique recoil animations for each weapon
MP40 and PPS-43 now has their stock unfolded(only visual change)
MG34 prone animation tweaked to prevent camera-clipping

[h2]Specialist Gamemode & Spawntime[/h2]Vehicle Spawn Timers are 10 times faster for Tank vs. Tank and Pilot vs. Pilot game modes. Additionally we have added a hint to this in the game mode description ingame.

[h2]AI Soldiers[/h2]After many community requests we decided to tweak the AI Soldiers again. They will rarely hit you if they decide to mag dump you. You should now have enough time to react and retaliate!

  • Fixed several floating objects at C3 and O3 on Forward Airfield
  • Fixed a gap in the roof of the house at C3 on Forward Airfield

    Town Map
  • Removed the ability to capture church on the outside wall on Town Map
  • Smoothed out the bumps on the road between A4-E4 on Town Map
  • Fixed a missing texture on the pavement near the bridge between E4 and O1 on Town Map
  • Smoothed terrain spikes along the road at Grid D-E6 on Town Map

    Models & Animation Changes
  • New Unique Recoil Animations for each weapon
  • MP40 and PPS-43 stocks unfolded (Visual change only)
  • Updated the PPSh-41 model
  • MG34 prone pose tweaked to prevent camara-clipping.
  • PM1910/30 model updated on SU Anti-Air guns and added as mounted weapon for GAZ-67

    AI Soldiers
  • The bot take longer to hit you the first time and after each hit they will miss you again

    Specialist Gamemodes Changes
  • Shorter spawn times for tank vs. tank and pilot vs. pilot game modes

    Other Changes
  • Fixed a typo in the armor penetration values for H3 and sticky.
  • New Daily Rewards image on bulletin screen.

UPDATED DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW – NOV. 2020


[h2]CLICK HERE TO SEE THE DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW[/h2]The Development Overview board provides an overview of what projects are currently in development at RETO MOTO, so you as players of Heroes & Generals can see what we are working on.

The overview lists both the player-facing projects we are doing such as new content, features and maps. But it also shows the projects that are happening behind the scenes. Development projects you as a player may never even notice, but they are necessary to do to keep the game going.

The Development Overview is a living thing. Projects grow, transform, split into new ones or change all together as we work on them. Sometimes you might even see a project moving backwards in development if we find out something needs to be reworked.
[h2]WHAT THE DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW SHOWS[/h2]Our current development projects are sorted into three basic sections based on where they are in our development cycle – early to final development.

This provides an indication of how far along in development a given project is.

The individual projects on the Development Overview vary in size and as such there can be a huge difference as to how long a project remains in one section or another.

The Development Overview also gives you an insight into what project we have chosen to put on hold, which are in test and projects released since the overview was last updated.

The Development Overview will be updated on a monthly basis.

[h3]Poll Results![/h3]

Last week we held a poll to ask about your opinion on the headshot modifier. Just like on our previous polls, the community is split through the middle when it comes to this discussions. From the 4000+ votes we received, slightly more than 55% wanted to see a change in the multiplier, while 45% preferred to keep it the way it is.

We have also taken a look at which modifiers had the most votes. 20% of the votes went to 2.78, 2.5 and 2.0 both getting around 15% of the votes. By far the most votes went to 3,58, taking almost 50% of the votes. Of course, most of these votes are made by the people who did not want to change the multiplier in the first place.

We have carefully discussed this, and decided that we will change the multiplier to 3.56. We can clearly see a lot of players want to see action taken against the amount of headshots, but at the same time we also often see the arguement 'a headshot is a headshot' and it should be deadly. By going for 3.58 we reduce the headshot range of many weapons, but at the same time all weapons can still get headshots. Except for two weapons, the PPD-40 and the PPSH-41. These weapons are known for their high RPM with low damage, overall already weapons that do not score the most headshots.

Of course, after these changes have taken effect, we will monitor both weapons and if necessary we will improve these weapons in other ways.
