🚀Bullet Heaven Festival Update & Current Status!

[h2]Survivors of the Dawn is joining the Bullet Heaven Festival![/h2][p]Thanks to this event, we’ll be able to showcase our new update, sharing development progress, and talking about the future of the game. We’re incredibly excited to take part in this celebration of bullet heaven games and contribute to bullet heaven Steam tag![/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]⌛About the Current Status[/h2][p]For over two years (including the period before Early Access), we have been working full-time on Survivors of the Dawn. At some point, we had to make an important decision: if we want to build a sustainable future by making games, we also need to move forward with our next project. We were already very close to the full release of SotD, and the plan was to keep updating SotD regularly while preparing its 1.0 version and developing the new game in parallel.[/p][p][/p][p]However, as we started missing some internal milestones on the new project, our schedule became tighter and eventually we began to fall behind on both projects. In the beginning, there were two of us working on development, and by October I had returned to working as a solo developer, which made planning and scheduling even more challenging. During this period, we also did not want to share “no real news yet” updates, because we preferred to come back with something meaningful alongside a new patch.[/p][p][/p][p]As a result, there were 13 months without a SotD update while we were working full-time on our new project, Farm to Table. Understandably, this silence made some of you feel like the game was “abandoned.”[/p][p][/p][p]In reality, the situation is the opposite. Most of what we wanted to do with SotD is already in the game. Since the Early Access launch, we have implemented the majority of the features we originally planned. What remains for Version 1.0 is mostly polishing, a few additional features, some extra content, and improving the overall player experience to reach the quality level we are aiming for.[/p][p][/p][p]Releasing SotD at the level we truly want for Version 1.0 is more important to us than rushing things just to meet a specific date. For the remaining part of development, I do not want to act hastily; I want to be sure that everything feels good, cohesive, and worthy of a 1.0 release.[/p][p][/p][p]As a studio, our next big goal is to bring Farm to Table to you during the February 2026 Next Fest. Until then, I will continue working on both projects as a solo developer and will keep delivering smaller updates to Survivors of the Dawn whenever possible.[/p][p][/p][p]There is absolutely nothing to worry about. Survivors of the Dawn is the first project I am developing as a solo developer, and I want its 1.0 release to feel truly ready before we call it done. We will release Version 1.0 when both the game and the timing feel right for you and for us.[/p][p][/p][h2]🌟 New Features in This Update[/h2][p][/p][p]\[NEW] TERMINAL HACK - Hack the generator for passive income.[/p][p]\[NEW] TERMINAL ALIEN CORE - Destroy the alien organisms that harm you when you get close, and earn rewards.[/p][p]\[NEW] Blood - Kill VFX - Toggled ON/OFF in Options.[/p][p]\[NEW] Space Path - New animated textures![/p][p]\[NEW] Space Ship[/p][p]\[NEW] “Are you sure?” confirmation UI on new game if there is still progress.[/p][p]\[NEW] ‘Not Enough Money’ UI feedback when purchasing fail.[/p][p]\[NEW] ‘SOLDOUT’ text updated.[/p][p]\[NEW] We added a Special Thanks section for everyone who supported us with localization, including a special thanks to our community members YubaGiant and Skere37 who show up in any case we need.[/p][p]\[NEW] Map zoom in/out.[/p][p]\[OPTIMIZATION] Map Generation Algorithm[/p][p]\[OPTIMIZATION] Crowd Navigation Algorithm[/p][p]\[LOCALIZATION] Missing language entries have been updated.[/p][p]\[FIX] Fixes were done to the issue that caused the Main Menu to freeze while the game was loading.[/p][p]\[BALANCE] All characters movement speed increased.[/p][p][/p][h2]🛠️ Current Development Phase[/h2][p]We’re currently working on the final stretch toward Version 1.0. Guess who's back with another patch of some little to big changes & bugs?

  • Texture compression methods improved. Build size reduced by 960 MB. (3.37 GB to 2.41 GB)
  • Enemy movement algorithm improved.
  • Enemies move more smoothly.
  • German & French Localization updates
  • Typo on the Texture Resolution text in the Options fixed
  • Damage Number pop-ups can be turned on/off in the Options.
  • Updated icons for in-map destinations.
