Spell Disk 0.5.6a hotfix

  • Fixed a bug that the headband accessory sometimes caused due to the excessive luck it provided.

Spell Disk 0.5.6 Update

  • Added three new accessories which can be obtained by defeating specific enemies in the Citadel (3rd stages):
  • Headband.
  • Sunglasses.
  • Magic Hood.

  • Optimized the way outfits and accessories are loaded in the wardrobe.
  • Optimized the unlock requirement checking functions for outfits and accessories.
  • Decreased the space between the outfits and the accessories in the wardrobe to be closer to each other.
  • Upon pressing up or down on the first or last item in the wardrobe list, the selection will now loop to the opposite end of the list instead of getting stuck.
  • Added an index number indicator for all outfits and accessories in the wardrobe.
  • Outfits and accessories will show an enemy portrait if the requirement to unlock them specifies that certain enemies must be defeated, which will replace the default lock icon in the wardrobe.

  • Also, Steam's new update seems to trigger a pop-up box suggesting that you should use a gamepad controller to play the game. While we do recommend playing Spell Disk with a controller if you have one, it's not a necessity, and you can still play with your keyboard and mouse as you did before.

Spell Disk 0.5.5d

  • Fixed an issue where the screen would sometimes shake left and right every frame during forced camera movement (in the tutorial or in the boss intro).
  • Adjusted camera shake presets and movements. Our goal was to reduce the randomness of the shake to minimize motion sickness that some players experienced with the screen shake. Screen shake direction is now either set or follows the direction of the hit, rather than a random direction with some minor influence.

  • Fixed a graphical error with the pumpkin head accessory.
  • Corrected the description of the cold pants artifact to align with its current behavior.
  • Fixed the descriptions of Totem Maker artifacts in certain languages.

Spell Disk 0.5.5c

  • The weapon image will be hidden in the base mode on the player UI in the left corner of the screen. Since outfits and accessories can be worn separately (appearance vs. function), there's a need to indicate which one is functional. However, with weapons, the appearance can't be changed. Even when the player is opening up the inventory or not, you can always catch a glimpse of what weapon the player is using, so we're currently going with this decision for the moment.

  • Fixed an issue where the stat panel of the inventory (right side of UI when pressing inventory) would remain open when you quit to the main menu while selecting level-up rewards in the survivor mode.
  • Adjusted mana cost for the critical disk and spell critical disk, as their intended mana production was swapped between the two.

Spell Disk 0.5.5b

  • Changed the behavior of the game's version check. It will no longer populate a save file for each version but will instead have a single line to remember your previous version.
  • Adjusted the timing of the backup save file writing, as it sometimes copied the corrupted save file.

  • Optimized the diminishing speed buff for the Dapper Slipper artifact. Additionally, the artifact icon will now indicate how much movement speed it is providing.
  • Fixed an issue where the gem caller did not interact with gem spells as a result of gem object optimization.
  • The Chaos Grimoire will now include an equipped weapon spell among the randomly cast spells.
  • The ninja enemy in the Citadel will now provide gems as intended, rather than not dropping any gems on defeat.
