1.0 Preview - Boss Mode

In just under 2 Weeks, we're releasing Version 1.0 for Axon TD: Uprising's Official Release! We've got one last preview for you all, as we show off Boss Mode and some Campaign Updates.

[h2]Boss Mode[/h2]
Quickplay has a new mode that adds Bosses! Every few waves, a Boss will spawn. Depending on the map, you'll get a different Boss. Every single Quickplay and Co-op map has been given some much-needed updates as well.

You can also turn on Boss Mode in Co-op. And yes, multiple Bosses can spawn at the same time.

Now there are two of them!

[h2]Campaign Updates[/h2]
Since the Campaign's original release, the balance of the game has been updated numerous times, making it a bit too easy. We've gone through each mission and tweaked the balance. Hard Difficulty should actually be a consistent challenge throughout the Campaign.

That's pretty chaotic for one mission.

Chapter 4 has received Optional Objectives, and Chapter 5 will have them out the gate. The Tech Tree has also been updated. In particular, each Tree is still powerful, but in order to get good gains out of the Resources and Expansion trees, it requires more point investment and tree advancement.

Oh, and as a little teaser for Chapter 5, we've updated OMEGA's design. It's no longer a big green skull.

You can bet OMEGA will show up in-game as a boss.

[h2]1.0 Alpha[/h2]
We've been working on it more, with tons of fixes and the most refined the balance has ever been! Every Quickplay and Co-op map has received some updates. There's two new Overloads (visuals still pending). And more!
  • Right-click Axon TD: Uprising in your game library
  • Select Properties
  • Select Betas
  • From the Beta Participation dropdown menu, select "alpha - Public testing"

1.0 Preview - Co-op Campaign

We're 4 Weeks away from the Version 1.0 Official Release of Axon TD: Uprising, and today, we're showing off the Co-op Campaign feature!

[h2]How it Works[/h2]

By default, when playing the Campaign, it's Singleplayer. However, you can switch it to Co-op quite easily:


And when you host a session, it looks quite familiar:


You've got your "Make Public" button, and the ability to invite directly. Now,, if you wanted to join a public session yourself:



And now the two of you can play together! As for how the splitting of things works:
  • Host chooses the mission.
    -- It is possible for the host to play a mission the other player does not have access to in their own progress.
  • You each use your own Tech Tree & Loadout.
  • You each run your own pace for Dialogue & Cutscenes.
  • In-game, Resources & Rewards are split between each player.

You can even try it out right now in the 1.0 Alpha! To access the alpha:
  • Right-click Axon TD: Uprising in your game library
  • Select Properties
  • Select Betas

We're currently on Version 1.0.alpha5. Some of those experimental Survival changes we mentioned last time have been rolled back. You can read the alpha patch notes on our Discord.

Axon TD is leaving Early Access on September 27th!

Axon TD: Uprising has an Official Release Date, and it's Friday, September 27th! That's right, in 6 weeks, Version 1.0 will launch, and it includes the following:
  • New Survival Map
  • Chapter 5 of the Campaign
  • Co-op Campaign
  • Localization
We'll reveal the details of the Campaign stuff closer to release. In the meantime, here's a little preview of the new Survival Map and changes!

[h2]Survival Map: Two Sides[/h2]

It kind of looks like one of our Co-op Survival maps, doesn't it? However, in this version, you're alone. You need to figure out how to split your Resources and Defenses across both sides. Expands on this map are placed on a grid, and there are several islands you can reach and connect to.

Unlike the Co-op Survival map, you can connect these two paths. However, it'll take some time to build up to that point. Good luck!

It's certainly possible... but is it worth it?

[h2]1.0 Alpha[/h2]
For the time being, the above map isn't testable yet. However, Version 1.0 comes with some experimental changes to Survival as a whole. Based on your feedback, we may or may not keep these changes. These changes are:
  • Tech Rewards are no longer tied to Power. It can be tied with Credits or Adds/Recycles/Blockers.
  • There is no longer a cap of 8 Defenses.
Normally, the Loadout would end here. Say, what's that arrow?

In theory, you can get all 40 Defenses in a single run!

We'll be dropping another preview in two weeks showing off how Co-op Campaign will work. In the meantime, we encourage you to try out our experimental Survival changes!

Version 0.6.2 Patch Notes

## General
- Orbital Cannon can now manually target.
- Added a visual effect for manually targeting.
- Bosses now have a visual indicator on the minimap.

## Audio
- Added Discharge Blaster Hit SFX

- Another fix to Siphon Cannon visuals.

- Fixed an issue with Random mode in Co-op where the game would tell you you had an empty loadout.

- Fixed an issue where a player trying to reconnect would spam as " joined" in the in-game chat.

## General fixes
- Fixed an issue with German localization(which was not intended to be implemented yet).
- Fixed Mass Driver U2 missing its amp percentage and duration.
- Fixed the Architect achievement not including the new Defenses.
- Fixed an issue with casting an Overload where it was throwing an error.
- Fixed a missing space in The Creator name.
- Fixed an issue with playing at ultra wide resolutions.
- Fixed being able to use a Blocker at the start of mission 5 in the Tutorial.
- Fixed various mentions of attack rate and cooldown that still were present in the tooltips.
