The B-17 is here - Minor Content Update #1 & Hotfix Update #5

[p]As a big thank-you for the first release week, we have the first minor content update for you that adds a new airplane to your RAF roster.[/p][p][/p][p]This update introduces the[/p]
  • [p]The RAF Coastal Command B-17 Fortress MK.II[/p]
    • [p]This variant of the iconic B-17 was delivered to the RAF Coastal Command and modified for long-range maritime patrol, submarine hunting and meteorological reconnaissance.[/p]
    • [p]This plane is a 12 victory points cost, tier 5 runway airplane with very high bombing power, great defence capabilities and great recon capabilities.[/p]
    • [p]It comes with 8 personnel and the RAF coastal guard livery.[/p]
    • [p]The stats card and wallpapers of the B-17 have also been added to the Ground of Aces supporter pack.[/p]

[h2]Other improvements:[/h2]
  • [p]Major improvement to the games' cell shading[/p]
    • [p]Our new shader creates nicer ramp shades for an even more graphic novel colouring effect like in our inspirations.[/p]
  • [p]Improved save game stability logic[/p]
    • [p]The game will now more carefully create saves and autosaves. This should improve the stability of saves overall.[/p]
  • [p]Improved autosave timing logic[/p]
    • [p]By popular demand, autosaves will now not happen while players are managing things and are scheduled to happen during the nighttime.[/p]
    • [p]You can also allow saves to happen during the daytime in the options.[/p]
  • [p]Reworked the Billiard table to display authentic Snooker[/p]
    • [p]Those Brits were into snooker, so we remade the table to reflect that. [/p]
[h2]Other fixes and changes:[/h2]
  • [p]Overworked the 2D art for Hurricane, Blenheim and Lancaster to more accurately reflect the 3D types and livery.[/p]
  • [p]Created a nicer 3D model and particle effect for the outdoor fireplace asset[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a cause for the camera movement in the main menu going to a black screen.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with planes being stuck on "On mission" and preventing others from returning.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with the Hurricane being off-centre in the 3D tech tree preview.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where you could save the game during the game over screen and keep playing with your bad base.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed additional issues that were causing troubles with save and load functionalities.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with the dead rising from their graves due to save game problems[/p]
[p][/p][h2]Issues we are currently working on:[/h2]
  • [p]Planes parking in the middle of the runway → We are currently testing different taxi solutions to deal with this issue.[/p]
  • [p]Interruptions through missions results → We are working on an option that lets you decide how you want to be informed about the mission results (full report getting displayed automatically, or you click yourself on the notification to see the report).[/p]
  • [p]Switching workbenches between produce until and repeat can lock them up → we are investigating some cases where workbenches could stop producing like this.[/p]
  • [p]Alarm time and wake-up speed make it impossible to man Bofors in time for attacks → we are testing a new way when the game will alert the base so even without sirens and alarm towers base defences become feasible in early game.$[/p]
  • [p]Issues with the pathfinding of NPCs (i.e. getting stuck at doorways)[/p]

  • [p]Fixed an issue of certain floors not being rebuildable after a bombing[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue of the siren on a pole not working anymore[/p]
  • [p]Fixed problems of AA guns potential entering a state of not intercepting planes[/p]
  • [p]Fixed game breaking issue of decommissioning a plane and removing the runway in the process.[/p]
  • [p]Investigated and fixed several game breaking issues when saving and loading[/p]
  • [p]Fixed potential issues for planes not starting to or returning from missions[/p]
    • [p]This is a partial fix, we are still investigating other occurrences reported[/p]
  • [p]Plane sounds no longer play when game is paused[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the issue that disabling edge scrolling also disabled mouse wheel press camera rotation[/p]
  • [p]Small balancing for HQ shipment options by popular demand[/p]
    • [p]Added 100 planks to shipment options from HQ[/p]
    • [p]Fuel shipment increased from 10 to 15[/p]
  • [p]Addressed the description of the severity in the small bomber interception mission[/p]

  • [p]Planes parking in the middle of the runway → We are currently testing different solutions to deal with this issue.[/p]
  • [p]Save Game stability → We are currently testing a method of creating the save game that could lead to better stability.[/p]

  • [p]Camera moving to a wrong position in main menu → we are investigating the issue that some people get a black screen in main menu camera transitions.[/p]
  • [p]Some people reported zombies on their bases →  We currently don't know the cause of this issue, but obviously, we take it very seriously

Hotfix #3 Patch Notes

[p]Hotfix #3 is here! Thank you again for all your reports. We continue tomorrow on Monday with more fixes. We keep going through the bug reports from the in-game feedback tool and prioritizing the things that we have to fix first. [/p][h2]Hotfix #3 Patch Notes[/h2]
  • [p]Crew will need less sleep per hour and can work more.[/p]
    • [p]Default schedule is 5h sleep instead of 7h[/p]
    • [p]Sleep energy buff raised to from +7 to +10 on good sleep and +2 to +2.5 for bad sleep[/p]
    • [p]We hope this gives everyone more productivity every day.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issues where save games with multiple unread mission results made new incoming missions freeze up their menus.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some issues of workstations spawning recipes from other workstations[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue of large structures leaving behind crates when using the move tool[/p]
  • [p]Fixed issue of used radios being duplicated when using the move tool[/p]

The reason animations like engine startup, control surface movement, or maintenance aren’t in yet is mainly due to prioritization — stability, bug fixing, and core systems come first during alpha development. Now in Early Access we will have time to focus also on such things.

Aircraft animations like flaps, ailerons, rudders, and elevators are planned. The rigs and movable parts are already in the models, but the technical systems to control them still need to be implemented.

Crew animations like refueling or detailed maintenance weren’t planned for the first version, but are definitely possible. We already have one animation for aircraft maintenance with a wrench, and crew animations in general will be expanded over time.[/p][p][/p][p]Your suggestions help us a lot to plan what to tackle next. Top priority is currently bug fixing. Starting from Monday, part of our team will also work on new features and you can expect also new free content soon. A new plane is already ready... Hotfix #2 Patch Notes

[p]We have a new hotfix update for you ready. We will continue to work on more hotfixes on Sunday so that we can provide another update as soon as possible.[/p][p]We saw several reports about airplanes being stuck on runways, and this hotfix update addresses several points that could lead to that situation. But not all edge cases are covered yet, so our programmers will continue to work on this with a top priority.[/p][h2]Hotfix #2 Patch Notes[/h2]

  • [p]Occupied parking spots cannot be manually destroyed by players until planes are relocated[/p]
