Rise Of Gun v6: Story Mode

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Hello everyone!

The time has come for the big, big, big updateeeeee — this is the very massive update!
This will be the last update, next will be new games and some minor fixes for Rise Of Gun
Rise Of Gun v6: Story Mode
You've been waiting for this for a long time, and here it is!
In this big update, I’ve also included a bunch of smaller ones, so it took a bit more time to complete.
I hope you didn’t get too bored while waiting and that this pleasantly surprises you. As mentioned earlier — the price of the game will increase.
But, I decided to do it in the summer, and now it would be better to make a 35% discount, so hurry up and it will be today

I’ve worked really hard to make it fun and exciting.
According to my calculations, gameplay time will increase by more than 10 hours!
You’ll find story mode, quests, dialogues, new mechanics, sound and visual improvements.

I’ll be very grateful for reviews on Steam — they really motivate me. My goal is 1000 reviews. Thank you for your support throughout development. Let’s move on to the update:
Story Mode
• Added a large number of story quests that will not only help you understand the background, but also reveal what’s happening in the town. Be in the thick of the action — your actions will influence the transformation of the survivor settlement. Help the residents not just with weapons but also with their living conditions — after all, they’ve all grown to love you.
  • New characters (Secretary Elli, Warehouse Chief Tom, Farmer Hank, Defense Leader Mr. Pawns, Homeless Chester, City Mayor Governor, and many others)
  • Added dialogue system — now you can talk to residents and learn lots of interesting things about what happened before the apocalypse and how it began. Short stories from the lives of the townsfolk will give you vivid impressions and reveal the picture of this beautiful apocalyptic world.
  • Added an interactive map of the area — it will help you learn much more about what lies beyond the city limits, which you can't reach yourself. Adventurer Carl will help you with this — you can send him on expeditions to various locations. When he returns, you’ll receive a reward and a piece of the story from what Carl saw there. Discover more about this world.
New Workers
• Added a new worker — Ammo Maker. Now you can automatically produce ammo. The worker can place the ammo either on the shelf or on the ammo crafting table. Also, if the workday ends during crafting, he’ll continue the next day.
  • Added a Worker for crafting parts. Now in the parts crafting menu, you can choose automatic production. After crafting, the parts will immediately be transferred to the warehouse. If the shift ends, the crafting machine will continue working.
  • Added a new worker for parts recycling. He gives you the ability to recycle parts directly from the warehouse — this saves a lot of time.
New Vendors
• Added a vendor of Experience Books. He appears only during rain in a random location.
  • Added a new vendor, Mr. Daryl. He will buy your weapons. Works only at night. Pays in scrap and money.
  • Added a new vendor, Tom. He sells tools. Works 24/7 with no breaks.
Bicycle
• Added a new type of transport — bicycle. You can find it on the map and repair it. After fixing it, you’ll be able to move faster around the map and also transport boxes of food, ammo, weapons, water bottles. It greatly simplifies completing quests and managing the store.
Additional Mechanics
• Added 18 new parts.
  • Added a new shift system for workers — now you can choose the days of the week your worker will work.
  • Added window repairs in the house — now you can build windows in your home.
  • Added window repairs in the shop — now you can build windows in your store.
  • Added 1 spin by default at the start of the game.
  • Added earning money, experience, and scrap for playing the piano. There’s a small chance of getting a random reward.
  • Added more parts in the world.
  • Added saving of experience on the computer.
  • Added more blueprints in the world.
  • Added experience gain from finding parts — and now they teleport directly to the warehouse.
  • Added reputation leveling when selling parts and buying blueprints from Ray and Albert.
  • Added new mechanic — tool breakage. Now tools wear out from frequent use.
  • Added new tutorial pages in the tutorial tab.
  • Added 10 new achievements.
Visual Changes
• Added display of chances for rare bonus cards to appear.
  • Added configuration and lighting for the shop banner.
  • Soldiers on the walls sometimes shoot.
  • Added residents warming themselves near fire barrels.
  • Added a new menu video.
  • Added vehicles to the city.
  • Added raft physics in the pool.
  • Added name and new look to the trade vendor.
  • Added more people in the city.
  • Added resting people at the newcomers’ checkpoint.
  • Added staff in the defense headquarters.
  • Added staff in the warehouse.
  • Added residents being treated in the bunker.
  • Added more soldiers on the walls.
  • Added notification of the current day and day of the week. Nice interface animation at the start of a new day.
  • Added height markers to compass icons — now it’s easier to understand whether something is above or below. Icons also shrink depending on distance — the farther the object, the smaller the icon. All this helps with orientation in the city.
  • Added joyful animations when selling parts to Ray and Albert.
  • Changed the light radius from barrels.
Sound Changes
• Added sound of climbing stairs.
  • Added sound effect — raindrops hitting metal near metallic objects.
  • Added a new ambient system — the city will no longer feel so silent.
  • Added more sounds for the bartender.
  • Added more sounds in Carmelita’s restaurant.
  • Added many other sounds, and some were fixed in terms of volume and settings.
Reworked
• Carmelita found a new worker, Bella — now she’ll be selling hotdogs.
  • Cassette tapes on the map were moved.
  • Collectible items were moved.
  • Slightly changed buyer behavior — now they more often purchase water and snacks.
  • Added more parts to the crafting machine. Also, blueprints can now be picked up without building a parts machine.
  • Back door is open by default.
  • Reworked the hiring system — now after building a locker, you can choose which worker to unlock, and then hire them.
  • Reworked mission system — now after completing missions, you can claim your reward in the missions tab. Missions now complete regardless of queue.
  • Fixed hitboxes for small sights.
  • Fixed detail shop update after sleeping.
New Locations
• Carl’s hideout in the backyard.
  • Defense headquarters.
  • Warehouse.
  • Mayor’s house.
  • Power station.
  • Water pump station.
  • Chester’s house.
  • Sewer.
  • Mr. Daryl’s shop.
Fixes
• Fixed a bug where the tutorial would constantly appear in the service.
  • Fixed a bug where residents would just stand around doing nothing.
  • Fixed a bug with service door saving.
  • Fixed location of New Year gifts.
  • Fixed names and types of some parts.
  • Fixed a bug where you could get 0 experience.
  • Fixed creative mode building bug.
  • Fixed a bug where the energy bonus was calculated incorrectly.
  • Fixed a bug with the food warehouse.
  • Fixed a bug with upgrading the shooting range.
  • Fixed a bug where residents stopped visiting the store.
  • Fixed a bug where you could rotate items in open menus.
  • Fixed a bug where parts could sometimes disappear from hands.
  • Fixed a tutorial bug in toilets.
  • Fixed a bug where you could clean a weapon while it was equipped on a resident.
  • Fixed flashlight glow on tools.
  • Fixed weapon placement on workbench.
  • Fixed a bug where some achievements could be obtained with cheats.
Localization
• Fixed some words that weren’t localized.
  • Fixed errors in the English language.
  • Added new localization for 9 languages.
This localization isn’t perfect — I apologize in advance, since I’m not a native speaker and I order translations through freelance platforms. If you find any mistakes, please let me know — I’ll be very grateful.

Devblog #15

Hello everyone!

It's time for a new dev blog. A lot of interesting things have been added lately — both in terms of new mechanics and visual improvements. In this post, you’ll find a small roadmap, and a reminder: all changes have already been added to the test branch, and you can try them out right now. To join the test branch, hop into our Discord channel or check the pinned discussions on Steam.

Also, don’t forget — after this update, the price of the game will increase.

What’s new:

– The Mayor, his Secretary, the Warehouse Chief, the Head of City Defense, and the Farmer will no longer stand still — they now walk around their designated areas, making the world feel more alive.
– Soldiers now occasionally fire from their posts to defend the city from zombies, adding more immersion.
– At night, you may see people warming themselves near fire barrels, bringing more life to the streets.
– A new durability system for tools has been added. Tools will now break from frequent use — but don’t worry, you’ll be able to buy new ones at a fair price.
– A new video intro has been added to the main menu.
– The Free Mode has been renamed to “Story Mode” — this is part of the preparation for the upcoming update finale.
– Achievement icons have been updated (and new ones are coming soon).

Quests:

– Added a new questline for Mr. Pawn, the Head of City Defense.
– Added a new questline from Chester, the local gossip.
– The Mayor’s house has been improved — he will now kick you out if you visit him at night.

Fixes:

– Fixed a bug where part information wasn’t displayed in the order window.
– Fixed an issue where auto-crafting could be started without collecting previous ammo.
– Fixed a bug where sticker textures were glowing at night.
– Fixed a bug in the Mayor’s quest logic.
– Fixed a bug with Carmelita’s quest hint system.
– Minor code optimization.

Roadmap:

There’s not much left to do — I hope this will be the last dev blog before the full update. My goal is to finish everything by the middle of next month.

– 3 questlines: Carmelita, the daytime vendor, and the night vendor.
– New achievements.
– New tutorial.
– Localization.
– Additional bug fixes and polishing.

We’re almost at the finish line! I’m truly happy to have you with me on this journey. Thank you to everyone who has supported the game, left feedback, and helped it grow — it means a lot!
