Winnie's Hole V0.7.84

[p]What a week it's been.[/p][p]We've been updating daily since launch and now we're heading into the weekend! [/p][p]We've smashed through dozens of bugs this week and are finally starting to move onto quality of life improvements, adjustments and new features. The fun stuff![/p][p][/p][h2]Game speed options[/h2][p]After watching players and reading feedback we've done an overhaul on the game speed options in the Settings menu to make it easier to see what's happening on a turn. We've also renamed the speeds.[/p][p]By default, the game now starts on Normal speed - we've added a lot more spacing between actions activating, repeats and enemy turns so when a combat turn plays out it's much easier to see what's happening.[/p][p]We also have Fast and Faster speeds - Fast is closer to how the game was paced previously by default. Faster is for my fellow speedy hyped gamers who want everything to resolve at lightspeed.[/p][p][/p][h2]Improvements[/h2]
  • [p]Neuron Activation virus strain now has spacing between the actions you captured and the actions activated by the Perk. Stlil more work to do here.[/p]
  • [p]Newly completed Research Recipes now appear on both "in progress" and "completed" tabs.[/p]
  • [p]Actions being dealt from the deck and discarded now have particle trails for extra visibility[/p]
  • [p]Unstable mutation art hookup. You can all thank Olexa for noticing a questionable piece of art wasn't fully implemented... Enjoy! You should know it when you see it.[/p]
  • [p]Swap brain ability now has a Cancel button[/p]

[p]Hi all, [/p][p]It seems like the save fixes are holding up. Our only reports so far are from people noticing the delayed effect.[/p][p]It's worth noting: If you happened to be affected by the bug on day 1 or 2 of launch, you will only see the issue the next time you open the game. Opening a new version of the game will not restore previously unsaved progress, so it may look like you lost the progress by downloading the new version but this is not the case. The issue was the older version failed to save some of the progress for some players.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p][h2]Bug fix[/h2]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with Grapple actions sometimes targeting the wrong enemy[/p]
  • [p]Altered how speech is displayed to see if it fixes speech issues[/p]

[p]Hi all, [/p][p]Thank you for all the bug reports - we're actively working on solving the save issue some players are having. It's absolutely critical and highest priority for us.[/p][p]It's a nightmare for any team to have such an issue be missed in our quality assurance testing, and we're a tiny team. We appreciate your patience with this, we want to deliver the best experience possible.[/p][p][/p][h2]Save and Quit fixes[/h2]
  • [p]Fix for the Quit button. There may be a slight delay on quitting, this is in case there's a connection issue when shutting down. In most situations this won't be noticeable.[/p]
  • [p]Adjusted the saving process with more safeguards, as well as more debug logs for us to diagnose issues. [/p][p][/p]
[p]Because the saving issue doesn't happen consistently it's very hard to test and reproduce, which is the biggest challenge for us. [/p][p]With this latest patch it's not appearing in our internal testing, but we have limited capacity and different hardware to the thousands of players in the game. We are continuing to test and investigate this even with the patch live, as it's very important to get it fixed as soon as possible.[/p][p]
The best course of action to help us diagnose it if it reoccurs is adding more debugging logs, so any bug reports sent will give us more detailed info on what's happening.[/p][p][/p][p]Thank you to those who've sent us their save folders to help us debug.
