300 Achievements

[p]Hello Miners,[/p][p][/p][p]\[Update for clarity: These achievements are not available until 1.0, only visible (hidden) on Steam so we can test that they work][/p][p][/p][p]The big post about GEAR is a tiny bit delayed due to some minor changes being made to the system, so we thought we’d bring you another 1.0 feature reveal. When Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor launches into 1.0, it will have 300 achievements, which means we’ll be adding 259 more than we currently have! More achievements” has been on the top 10 of most requested additions to DRG:S during Early Access, so we wanted to go all out for this one. [/p][p][/p][p]The new achievements come in many different categories. There are the endurance-based ones where you have to complete lots of dives, kill loads of enemies, or deal massive damage. There are achievements for naturally progressing through the game, so you get them from completing masteries, for leveling up weapons, and for completing specific dives on the highest hazard levels. There are also a variety of achievements where you have to go out of your way to play in a specific way, like the “It’s all in the wrist” achievement where you have to complete a dive with 4 \[THROWABLE] tagged weapons equipped, or “Extreme indecision” where you have to perform 50 rerolls during a dive. Then there’s the downright diabolical tasks, such as “Just like the old days”, where you have to complete a Hazard 5 dive without any gear equipped, or the “I ain’t buying it” achievement, where you have to complete a Hazard 3 dive without buying anything in the shop.[/p][p][/p][p]Finally, we’re happy to add 28 new achievements based on community suggestions. Some weeks ago, we made a call-out for players to submit their achievement ideas, and some most of them were really good. Some of those we’ve added to the game include the “Mission Possible” achievement, where you have to land on the drop pod ramp 3 times using jet boots, and the “Perfectly balanced” achievement, where you must complete a dive with all your weapons at the same exact level.[/p][p][/p][p]We look forward to seeing you flex 300/300 achievements on September 17th when Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor launches into 1.0 on Steam.[/p][p][/p][p]Rock and Stone![/p][p]

Class Mod Skins - Part 3: Gunner

[p]Hello Miners,[/p][p][/p][p]First up, a PSA! We’re happy to announce that we’ve just published Steam Trading Cards for DRG:S! Start collecting them today, and you can look forward to some sweet badges, backgrounds, and emoticons to spice up your Steam profile. [/p][p][/p][p]Now, it’s time for another sneak peek at what’s coming in the 1.0 release of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor! This week, we’re showcasing the Gunner and his trio of class mod visuals: Weapons Specialist, Juggernaut, and Heavy Gunner.[/p][p][/p][p]Each of these skins is designed to visually reflect your role on the battlefield, whether you're laying down relentless fire, shrugging off incoming damage, or maximizing your firepower with precision. Like the others, these visual upgrades are automatically unlocked when you acquire the class.[/p][p][/p][p]Now let’s get to it because it’s time for everyone's favorite gun nut. The Weapons Specialist may seem like a “default Gunner” but a few things set him apart from the other specialisations. Mainly, it’s the roll cage for his big ol’ noggin that ensures everything stays in place when you’re mowing down Glyphids with a minigun. Years of continuous recoil have blown his hairline into the signature M-shape - what a guy.
[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Speaking of hair, let’s take a look at the brand new Juggernaut. This guy prefers working up close so that everyone can get a good look at his perfectly styled locks. Gone are the superfluous bits of armor that would otherwise cover up his good angles, and the red Rambo headband finishes his look.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Finally we have the Heavy Gunner. What better way to signal that you love firepower than covering yourself in explosive ammunition head to toe. Yes, keen-eyed greybeard that is indeed a spitzer in his mouth, because a cigar would simply be too dangerous. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]We’re continuing to roll through each class with their visual updates, but the fourth installment in the series is a bit delayed as we finish up the Driller skins. We’ll also be writing up a much more detailed look at the new GEAR system coming in 1.0, and that post is planned to come out later in June. [/p][p][/p][p]Until next time,[/p][p]Rock and Stone![/p]

Celebrating 1 year of Community Challenges

Hello Miners,

Over the past year, our community has been creating their own in-game challenges, each week bringing a new challenge with self-imposed rules and creative twists that change how you play the game. Examples include: “Kinetic Bounce” - complete a run only using kinetic weapons, “Beyblades” - drones only, or “Naked Beams” - only use beam weapons (sooo many beams!)

What started as a couple of fun wacky ideas shared on Discord has grown into something much bigger. You’ve proven that the game can be played in so many more ways, with new strategies, pure chaos, and insane runs!

To everyone who has created a challenge, streamed a wild run, or just joined in: Thank you! The passion that we see from all of you gives us energy and inspires us to keep pushing for more.
Fun fact: Community challenges were actually a big source of inspiration for our “Lethal Operations” and “Vanguard Contracts”.

If you’ve never seen these challenges before, now’s the time! Join our Discord and check out the challenge announcements channel to explore past challenges and join new ones. Pssst...psst.... the next challenge is going to be Celebrate with a Bang . Keep an eye out on the channel for more info.

Here’s to many more crazy challenges and epic runs! Keep creating and sharing, we’ll be watching (… and probably failing a few challenges ourselves.)

Class Mod Skins - Part 2: Engineer

Hello Miners,

Welcome back to our sneak peek series for the 1.0 release of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor! In this second installment, we’re turning the spotlight on the Engineer class and its class mod visuals: Maintenance Worker, Tinkerer, and Demolitionist.

These new looks aim to give each class mod a stronger visual identity, so whether you’re patching up your turrets, optimizing gadgets, or blowing things sky-high, your equipment will look the part. Like with all class mod skins in 1.0, these are automatically unlocked when you acquire the class.

We’ll continue rolling out more of these visual updates for each class, so stay tuned. Once we’ve revealed them all, we’ll shift gears and start digging into the bigger gameplay changes coming with 1.0. This is just the beginning.

It is universally agreed that the most important tool for a Maintenance Worker is not a wrench or a screwdriver - it is a hat. What it lacks in pure utility, it makes up for in covering up his bald spot. The tinted safety glasses make the dark caves of Hoxxes even dimmer, but the shoulder-mounted flashlight compensates for this, effectively cancelling each other out.

The Tinkerer has opted for a company issued welding mask that unfortunately does not cover his majestic blonde beard. We can only pray that welding sparks decide to fly around it out of respect. The coils and tubes on his shoulders are in fact epaulettes awarded for distinguished engineering service.

Finally, we have the Demolitionist. He’s all about safety first, which is why his outfit looks like he is emerging from a child car seat. The baseball batting helmet has built-in noise-cancellation which effectively blocks out noisy explosions and encouraging comments from management.

The skins are still WIP and may change a bit before launch. In the next post (coming next week or the week after) we’ll take a look at the new Gunner class mod skins. Many other features of the 1.0 update are still kept under wraps. We will reveal them in the coming months once we are ready to share a more detailed look at them.

Class Mod Skins - Part 1: Scout

Hello Miners,

This steam post marks the beginning of a new series where we’ll be sharing sneak peeks at what’s coming in the 1.0 release of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. Over the next few weeks, expect a steady stream of bite-sized Steam posts, each one diving into the visual upgrades we’ve been cooking up for class mods. Once we’ve showcased the new skins, we’ll shift focus to some of the bigger gameplay changes. There’s a lot to talk about, and we’re just getting started.

We’ve long wanted to give class mods more visual identity, so you can instantly tell whether you're rocking a Recon Scout or lining up headshots as a Sharpshooter Scout. With 1.0, we’re making that a reality. The skins are automatically unlocked when you acquire the class.

Here he is: The Classic Scout as you know and love him with his shoulder-mounted flashlight, double-antenna headset for primo reception, and of course, an early prototype of some Smart Glasses so he can POV record himself running away. Nothing new here - it’s a classic for a reason.

The Recon Scout spent his Employee of the Month bonus points on a leather 5-panel cap with red racing stripes to match his beard. Extra bulky shoulder pads allow him to attach two scanners for improved uh… reconnaissance. If you think they look like overpriced gaming routers, did you consider that perhaps those routers are inspired by the Recon Scout’s shoulder-mounted scanners? I bet you didn’t.

This one was a no-brainer: If you want to be a sharpshooter, you have to have the tactical goggles on. They got more zoom than a border collie, the yellow tint that you need to disassociate from reality, and an extra optical in the middle just in case.

The skins are still WIP and may change a bit before launch. Next week, we’ll take a look at the new Engineer class mod skins: Maintenance Worker, Tinkerer and Demolitionist. Stay tuned!

With the reveal of class mod skins, we are updating the roadmap to 1.0. The rest of the headline features of the update are kept tightly under wraps. We will reveal them in the coming months once we are ready to share a more detailed look at them.
