Dreadnought Rework

Hello Survivors,

It’s been a while since we updated you on the development of Update 02, mainly because we were still cooking. We’re getting closer to a release day, the update is being tested and polished, and some features are pretty close to being done. Among them is the reworked version of our boss encounter: The Dreadnought.

When Update 02 launches, we’re introducing a whole new boss encounter (more on that in a later update) – and to not make the Dreadnought encounter feel like “the simple one” in comparison, we’ve given it an overhaul. The current version of the Dreadnought has one trick in its book: A jump/charge attack. The reworked Dreadnought has two new abilities to accompany the charge.

The first new ability is a variation of the Trembling Stomp known from Deep Rock Galactic, where the Dreadnought roars, stomps, and creates volcanic spikes that shoot up from the ground. In Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, these spikes shoot out in a tight cone that traps you until you dig through or outrun them. This is probably a good idea if you don’t want to be vulnerable to a charge attack follow-up. The second new ability is our version of the DRG Dreadnought’s Swarm Bladder attack: a ranged projectile attack where the Dreadnought spits out a cocoon that bursts open and spawns a pack of Glyphids. The two new abilities will be more deadly in higher hazard levels, just as the Dreadnought’s health and damage scales accordingly.

That’s it for now - stay tuned as we reveal more details about Update 02 which is releasing later this month.

Deep Rock Galactic Survivor sails past a million sold as developers salute players' 'ravenous appetite' for space dwarf content

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor released in early access in February, and developer Funday Games and Ghost Ship Publishing have announced that the spinoff of Deep Rock Galactic has now sold over a million copies. A Vampire Survivors-inspired take on the joys of dwarves space-mining in extreme peril, the initial reception has been positive and left our own Robin Valentine "much more hooked than I expected."..

Roadmap Update - April 2024

Hello Survivors,

Many of you are eager to hear what our plans are for the next updates, and we haven’t updated the roadmap after Update 01 (Salt Pits). But we are finally ready to share our plans for Update 02 - at least the rough headlines. In the coming weeks, we will start revealing more details, but for now we hope this will sate your ravenous appetite for Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor content. Update 02 is currently scheduled for a May release (exact timing pending).

In the roadmap revision 02, you will notice we have shifted around some priorities. For example, Bosco 2.0 has moved down to “later”, and the current highest priority is enemies and overclocks. This is because we think the best thing for the game right now is adding more variety across the board instead of extra layers. These priorities are likely to change in the future.

Thanks for your continued support,

Rock and Stone!

Hotfix 0.2.190d

Hello survivors,

A quick hotfix is out now!

We have identified performance issues with the Breach Cutter and the Shard Diffractor. In this hotfix, we address the Breach Cutter issues and some of the Shard Diffractor issues.
Improvements & Fixes
We will continue to keep an eye on performance. Also, we are aware there are other issues, like damage numbers, that can cause FPS drops, these will be addressed in the future.

Other than that, a few audio bugs have been taken care of as well:

- Fixed a performance issue with the Breach Cutter
- Throttled some impact VFX on the Shard Diffractor when many enemies are present.
- Audio: Fixed BRN Shield Belt and FRZ Shield belt audios not obeying the SFX volume slider
- Audio: Fixed Falling Stalagmite audio not obeying the SFX volume slider
- Audio: Fixed the PlasmaBurster grenade audio not pausing correctly

The symptoms of these bugs were FPS drops when using those weapons (especially at high hazard levels with many enemies on screen), and in some cases, the dwarf could stop mining intermittently.
