We’re thrilled to be able to welcome you to Seikyu and cannot wait for you to start your adventures, get to know the villagers, and begin uncovering the secrets of your fox-spirit ancestry. Pack your bags and get ready for magic, mystery, and romance as the very first chapter of your Seikyu story unfolds (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:・ﾟ✧

Seikyu is a lush, scenic island where yokai gather in search of peace and harmony. The village of Seikyu was founded by fox spirits many years ago and is now home to a wide variety of yokai, each with their own stories and dreams. While the fox spirits have all but vanished, life in Seikyu is still idyllic and the residents are excited to welcome you and your sister Kon. Perhaps you’ll bring a little excitement to this sleepy village, uncover its history, and win the hearts of the villagers along the way.
[h2]Yokai Lore[/h2]
Yokai are shape-shifting spirits from Japanese folklore and they come in many different forms! Some look like monsters, others resemble animals, and some could even be mistaken for humans. But did you know that humans are a myth in Seikyu? Yokai grow up hearing stories about humans and they’re fascinated by their unique way of living. You’ll notice human influences all over Seikyu, from the way the villagers decorate their homes to the values they hold.
[h2]Master Your Powers of Transformation[/h2]
You are a fox spirit and, unlike other yokai, you can unlock and shapeshift into many different forms. So what if you haven’t quite mastered your fox form yet – we’re sure that’ll come in time! For now you can charge across the countryside, fight enemies, and gather resources as the mighty boar. Discover the hidden waters of Seikyu and use your elemental powers to water your crops as the aquatic slime. And take to new heights, uncovering every corner of Seikyu as the soaring tengu. You’ll get the opportunity to increase your skills, level up, and unlock new powers as you upgrade each form.
[h2]Your New Home[/h2]
There’s a whole farmhouse waiting for you in Seikyu, and it’s yours to decorate as you please! Use your yokai powers to tend the land, start your very own farm, and grow different crops as the seasons change. Gather resources, craft furniture, and express yourself through customisations! Whether you want to live somewhere cute and cosy or sophisticated and traditional, there are over 100 pieces of furniture for you to enjoy. Just make sure to craft the Storage Yokai so you’ve got somewhere to put everything!
[h2]Meet the Villagers[/h2]
Seikyu is home to all kinds of yokai. Some are friendly, some are just plain silly, and some are looking for love! Build relationships with the villagers by completing quests, giving gifts, and going on dates. Each villager is unique, with their own backstory, needs, and desires. There’s someone for everybody, whether your type is cool and mysterious, kind and gentle, fun loving, muscle bound, flirty, energetic, or anything in between. Love knows no bounds in Seikyu, meaning you’ll be able to romance villagers of any gender, and you might be tempted to romance, well, everybody! It’s up to you, just remember that some villagers might get a little jealous. Of course, you don’t have to romance anybody if you don’t want to. Whether you want friendship or romance, you’ll be able to uncover each villager's story no matter your relationship.
[h2]Uncover the Secrets of Your Ancestry[/h2]
You and your sister travel to Seikyu to connect with your fox-spirit ancestry and find out what happened to your parents and the rest of the fox clan. Along the way, you’ll need to piece together clues from the world around you and gather information from Seikyu’s residents. Pray at fox shrines to commune with your ancestors, visit the temple of Inari for guidance, and delve deep into the fox ruins – an underground cave system filled with secrets and treasure. Rumour has it that there are parts of the ruins that only a fox spirit can access. It’s up to you to master your many forms and uncover the truth about your history.
[h2]Play Your Way[/h2]
There are a lot of different ways to enjoy your time in Seikyu, and shaping your play is easy with options to adjust how fast the day passes, bind controls, and remap keys to suit your playstyle. We recently added an option to adjust the camera sensitivity for motion sickness and we’re keen to add more accessibility features and gameplay options along our Early Access journey.
