Developer Diaries #5 - Uwabami, Hot Springs & Ranching

We’re back with some sneak peeks at work in progress character designs, drafts of Mika’s home for as well as some extra little behind the scenes information of what we are working on further in the future.😊
It’s been a wonderfully busy time as we released a quality of life update based on community feedback which was well received. Your input genuinely makes a difference so if you have something you want to share, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

[h2]🖤 Meet Uwabami[/h2]
Recently we shared an introduction to Uwabami in a newspost. He’s one of the new romanceable characters coming to the Island of Seikyu in a future update 👀
We wanted to share some of his early WIP designs to show you the process of bringing him to life! It has been fun putting this character together, and we also loved hearing the community’s thoughts on Discord as we shared versions of his designs.
Uwabami’s yokai form is based on the snake yokai of the same name. 🐍
The above Uwabami’s design is completed so this is the final look, what do you think? 👀
[h2]🛁Hot Spring is Coming[/h2]
As you may already know, Content Update 1 will include the grand opening of the Hot Springs and we can’t wait for you to take a dip and meet the enchanting Mika who’s running the place. The hot springs are said to contain magical properties so we hope you enjoy exploring what that means. 🌸
[h2]🐄Ranching & More![/h2]
We’re working on the ranch to get it ready for Content Update 1, including some very cute Capybara behaviors that we hope that you will love as they will interact with the other animals on the ranch! We can’t wait for you to experience the bustling farm life and it should also enable you to elevate your cooking as ingredients can be more easily foraged fresh rather than rummaging through those bins. 👀
Shuten’s Tavern is also getting some attention as we’ve been working on a mini-game!
